The Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference Center comes highly recommended for its prime location adjacent to the airport, which guests find exceptionally convenient for exploration and travel. Many travelers commend the hotel for its modern and spotless accommodations, complete with thoughtful amenities, though opinions on room size and value vary, with some guests feeling the prices are steep. While the service is generally celebrated for its professionalism and friendliness, incidents of slower and less courteous interactions have been called out. Overall, the hotel's clean and tranquil atmosphere, alongside its range of amenities, makes it a popular choice among visitors.

Hotel rooms are big enough for a airport hotel with modern facilities. Ample care given due to COVID-19. I could see effort being made to disinfect rooms and alcohol wipes and solution are provided. Breakfast was a simple box catered as buffet lines were all closed but luxurious enough. Coffee machines available at every floor. Certainly a worth stopover on your long transit via AMS airport. Albert Heijn (local supermarket) available at the lower floor of the airport as you walk by.

The rooms are clean, bed and linens comfortable, and the shower pressure is strong.
Room windows are soundproof and you would not know that you were at an airport hotel.

We had a 7:00 AM departure and due to the extreme Summer business at Schipol, we would need to be at the airport at 3:30 AM. I even used our time there to scout out the correct check in area and process for the next morning. It is a very complicated airport this Summer.

There is currently a $50 fee for early check in before 10:00 AM, but worth it if you’ve just gotten off an overnight flight…

The Executive Lounge on the Check in floor is inviting with comfortable seating. We stopped in for complimentary beer/wine and light finger food (mini sandwiches, one hot item, light desserts).

Our commendation goes to Mike at Check in. There was a discrepancy with the room rate that I had been quoted over the phone by Marriott Reservations. Mike worked with his supervisor to research how the quote had been given to me. All was resolved and we appreciate his professionalism in working with us.

The next morning at 3:30 AM we walked right out of the hotel and into the already busy airport. This hotel was perfect for our needs.

Firstly I had a lovely room with a view over the Airport. At night it was quite spectacular with the lights and aircraft movements.

I stayed 2 nights and each night I was disappointed with the Club room, food selection and quality was poor. Also the drinks selection was basic. I would prefer 3 hot options, Rosé wine and possibly Spirits as well. I stayed at a Crowne Plaza the previous week and they had everything. Sheraton you need to up your game. I am a Titanium Elite member and have to say that this was the worst Club Lounge I’ve been in.

I chose to eat in the Runway Cafe attached to the hotel. Unfortunately on one of the nights I chose a Ribeye Steak and can honestly say it’s the worst I’ve had. In fact a questioned if it was indeed Ribeye.

The room and view saved this from being a lower rating.

We are trying hard to find some positives about our recent overnight stay after our flight was cancelled. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweigh any favourable comments. The room #212 we were allocated was dark and gloomy, it was an interior room facing another part of the hotel. Opening the blinds/curtains and switching on the lights didn't help. The room had been prepared to accommodate one guest, despite our two person double room booking. Just one bathrobe, slippers set and towels were provided. Fortunately a housekeeping person was on the same floor down the hallway so I had to request what was missing. This was before we discovered the bathroom essentials were sparse or missing. There was no Shower Gel and little else that is normally provided in a four star hotel. Remember, our flight had been cancelled, therefore we had no luggage - Being an airport hotel, one would expect it to cater for its many guests faced with a similar predicament - a travel size tube of toothpaste and brush would have been welcome. We were forced to once again battle the crowds at Schiphol to track down bathroom items. The room was cold and uncomfortable because the thermostat was useless. We ate dinner in the bar/restaurant and that experience was underwhelming. Food was average and service mediocre. The icing on the cake was receiving the emailed invoice - the amount debited exceeded the price quoted on Bookings.com

Stayed two nights, two people arriving on different flights it seemed to make sense to stay close to the airport instead of messing around with buses.

The Sheraton had a good price and it’s literally 2 minutes walk from the terminal over a connecting walkway. They offered an early check in which was appreciated after a long flight.

The room was well appointed, clean and the bed was super comfortable. We didn’t use any of the hotel facilities opting to eat out. The next morning we quite overslept as the room was so quiet.

We had a nice view over the airport and the hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful. They had ice machines which I always appreciate and coffee stations for you to help yourself.

I’d definitely stay here again, it was a very relaxing two night stay before our vacation and then moving to a downtown Amsterdam hotel.

Margaret wrote a review Jul 2021
I had originally booked a room at the Hilton but the week before when changing planes in Amsterdam I noticed that the Sheraton was closer to the airport so I changed my booking and I wish I hadn't.

I wrote to them ahead of time to ask for a sheet to be left on the bed as I get too hot with the duvet, they replied that they would leave one but they didn't so I had to call reception to get them to bring me one.

There was no minibar in the room which is not acceptable especially as the ice machines on the floors were inaccessible due to the ongoing renovations. The executive lounge was closed too although they were still letting you book an executive room on the Internet both on their own site and others, they should have removed these rooms as that's completely dishonest.

The bar was closed too for renovations which was also not mentioned so I had to go the Hilton anyway which was just 400 metres down the road as I wanted to watch England play (or rather massacre) Ukraine in the Euro 2020. The covered bridge from the airport was accessible at the Hilton but not the Sheraton maybe due to the renovations.

I asked if the rooms at the Hilton had a minibar and they said they did. I had a nice evening there and it was annoying to have to walk back to the Sheraton in the rain. The only reason for staying there is that it's right opposite the airport when you come out.

The room itself was comfortable with a corner couch so you could put your feet up. The bed was comfortable with 4 pillows. There were individual toiletries in the bathroom. There were 2 bottles of free water. If you wanted tea or coffee you had to go to a free refreshment corner on the floor where there was also a vending machine to buy cold drinks. I would prefer the possibility to make a cup of tea in my own room in the morning.

Was expecting better and will stay at the Hilton next time.

Dear Margaret, Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay in our hotel. I am sorry to read that you requested for a sheet to be placed on your bed, and that this was not arranged at check-in. I am happy to hear though that my colleagues quickly corrected the error and that they brought one up to your room shortly after. Our Club Lounge is indeed temporarily closed. This is noted on our website and in our room type description as well. When guests book a club room, they receive breakfast and vouchers for complimentary drinks and snacks in our hotel bar. We do place a standard kettle in all our hotel rooms with coffee and tea, so I am very surprised to read this was not provided in your room. I have flagged this with our Housekeeping Department. At the moment there is indeed no fridge yet in our newly renovated rooms. In the new year, there will be a drawer in every cupboard which has a fridge inside but this has not been realized yet. I appreciate you letting us know that you missed it, so we can perhaps look for a temporary solution until the new fridges are in the room. On a more positive note, I am pleased that you enjoyed our location close to the airport and that you found our newly renovated hotel rooms comfortable. We do hope we may welcome you to our hotel another time so that we can restore your trust in us. With warm regards, Paul Chevalier

I love the room, great bed and linens, plenty of pillows. Nice chair, and tv. But that tiny shower enclosure, it’s just right. I am a skinny lady, and I hit my elbow on the metal bar inside the enclosure. The shower has plenty water pressure and it would be so nice to stretch ones arms out. Or even turn around. The bathroom has a large bathtub, it takes up all the space.
The room is quiet and the location of the hotel is perfect. Nice breakfast buffet downstairs in the restaurant.

Stayed here for a couple of days on a business trip back in February 2018, We actually used another hotel (the Radisson Blu) for our business meetings, as the price for booking a conference room was extraordinary, but otherwise enjoyed the accomodation. The hotel is located almost inside the airport, so it is extremely convenient for business travellers, and the rooms are absolutely fine, with all amenities expected of a Sheraton. The only proble is the impersonal character of all such airport hotels, but on the othe hand I recommend it and would gladly stay here again.

I stayed one night as was between flights & had my tiny dog with me. This is a beautiful hotel so why an average review? Firstly it is VERY expensive. I paid for an upgrade to a room on the club floor - not sure what the ultimate benefit was to be honest! My dog was not permitted in any of the dining areas (she’s a very tiny chihuahua who could have been kept in a bag. So I had no option but to order room service for dinner. However nobody answered the room service number any time I tried & likewise with reception. Therefore I had to book it online using my phone & a QR code. Fine for dinner. But I had to wait until 6am to order breakfast in the same way, no joy getting anyone to answer the phone. Very frustrating. Also the people in the room above me were extraordinarily noisy after midnight. There was no fridge in the room - I had some chicken for my dog that I wanted to keep fresh. I ordered an ice bucket with dinner and used that by placing the chicken in a plastic bag into the bucket. But no fridge in a room of that standard is incredible. Finally, my last issue is that when at the airport for my flight I realised that my spectacles weren’t in my hand baggage. I was worried I’d left them in my room & rang the hotel. I was told that housekeeping would be asked but that I needed to put my request in an email. I did so. I heard no more. When my flight landed at the other side there were no voicemails or emails from the hotel. Luckily I found my spectacles in my checked-in suitcase. But why no reassuring message from the hotel that they hadn’t been left in my room? It would have been the courteous thing to do. I had explained on the phone that I would need them to be able to drive my hire car. All in all, notwithstanding the lovely room etc, I was irritated in the main. I have another night booked for my return trip in a couple of weeks & not excited at the prospect

Dear Ms. Clare, We would like to thank you for taking the time to write a comment regarding your stay with us. It was a sincere pleasure to welcome you to our hotel as one of our guests. Our ambition is to make your stay as comfortable as possible, with the genuine care and comfort you deserve. Hence, we are mournful to learn that our services did not fully meet your expectations. We are sorry to read your comments regarding the fact that your dog was not allowed in the dinning areas. Even if our rooms are pet friendly, our policy does not allow us to have pets in the dinning areas regardless their size. We understand your point of you and we are sorry you ended up disappointed because of this. Moving on, when you noticed that the Room Service is not picking up, you could have called the Reception. They would have immediately help you reach the their department and detect the reason why they were not picking up the phone. Regarding the noisy people that were above you, we would have been happy to be informed about the situation so that we could go, check them and kindly ask them to respect the others by being quiet. Moving on, not all our rooms have a fridge. On request, when a guest needs to store something in the fridge, our employees can do so for them. We are truly sorry to read your comments regarding the fact that you were not contacted regarding your lost spectacles. We can imagine that this affected your stay into a less positive one. Therefore, we would like to offer our sincere apologies. Please be assured that your comments will be shared with the head of the Housekeeping department. If you have any other comments or questions, we are always open to discuss these with you. We are truly interested in any suggestions you might have. On behalf of our entire team at the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference Center, we hope to restore your trust in us again. May you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We wish you a nice day!

This hotel was way nicer than I expected for a hotel that is literally almost part of the Amsterdam airport. Check-in was fast, professional and friendly, and we were all upgraded to nicer rooms than we had originally booked. The rooms are modern, clean, and exceptionally quiet for overlooking a busy runway. The curtains allow for complete darkness and you can control the room temperature, both important to jetlagged travelers. Beds are very comfortable, and a coffee maker, safe, and mini fridge are included, all hidden away in a large closet. Breakfast is $25 Euros per person, so we skipped it and ate in the airport, but the restaurant looked very nice. For a hotel that probably has many thousands of guests annually, you'd never know it as it is well maintained and looks brand new. We will definitely stay here again when we need to catch a flight back to the States.
