New York City, New York
I've visited the property several times but never stayed here until now. I spent a night here. Because it's August and traffic is lighter, transfers to the Miami airport were about half an hour at 4pm, which was super! I was here on Amex Platinum and I was upgraded from a Bay View Room to a Sunset Studio room, which was a nice upgrade. I wanted that upgrade because for the price of a bay room here I could get a ocean view suite at the Setai so I wanted to know I was getting value. This hotel only has about 80 rooms so they don't have a great economy of scale, which means that guests here have to pay to get this good service which is tailored to them. That means that I got a box of chocolates in the evening as a gift from the concierge team.
I like Four Seasons. You can use the steam room if you're a guest; the gyms are always good -- this one has everything you could want in it and I think it is improved from what it was a few years ago when I last saw it. The food is excellent throughout; the margherita pizza they have at lunch is as good as the best pizzas in Italy. There is a new chef at the Italian restaurant and is as excellent as the last one was. Breakfast was also excellent and I took half of my dishes on the plane and they wrapped it all up to go. Yeah, I"m using the word Excellent a lot, but everything here is excellent, so what you do want?
The pools are great; the ocean is delicious during the summer. Would be nice if they would make a better walkable pathway to get to the beach once you leave the hotel gate in the back. Your bare feet will hurt.
The room was fine with tons of closets and a very spacious bathroom; air conditioning had to be adjusted during the night because it goes into automatic mode during the night. The huge shower in the studio suite is a plus. Elevators were always prompt.
The spa was also excellent; i had an excellent massage by Andre and the facilities and treats were all primo. Concierge was very strong prearrival and in the lobby they keep an eye on you. I was standing by the concierge waiting for him to get off the phone; someone walked over and asked what i wanted and took care of it.
The property has a special feel to it and is just a beautiful building with a lovely lobby and restaurant/bar. The location is great because you have total privacy at the beach and nobody is walking by the hotel that doesn't belong there. If you want the absence of a "scene" this place is for you. And that's why I came here and not to the Setai; i wanted to relax and not be part of a scene. And I wanted the place to be excellent since I was paying for it. The resort hit all the right points.

The Four Seasons at the Surf Club will live up to whatever your expectations of a vacation may be. My family love home, and travel. It is NOT easy to find a hotel that feels like home, from the food, to the environment (created by the hotel family) to the room. This home away from home meets every criteria of exceptional - the food, the staff, the bed, the cleanliness, the smiles, the thoughtfulness and sincereness, and even the friends made (staff and clientele).

From the moment we checked the Four Seasons at the Surfclub became one of our homes. We were given a beautiful tour , along with the history of the property, by Sergio, who also welcomed us with cold water and a glass of champagne. When we arrived to our room, there was a beautiful fruit platter, and another bottle of fresh water ( and mint and lime !). The staff at the pool (all! I wish I could reference each staff member by name because they are an incredible team that care deeply about the guests)were attentive and smiling the entire 3 days, and would bring towels, and water, and treats, regular. When my husband and I grabbed our complimentary bikes, that sit close to the pool and bike bath, the staff immediately came over to fill our baskets with water and a towel. The pool staff also clearly love their jobs, working together, and the environment that they have helped to create.

The servers, specifically Valentine (and I wish I could remember another staff members name, I know his birthday is August 16th ... ) are so thoughtful and genuine. Valentine happily would deliver pizza and breakfast to our pool chairs (and offered to the beach) from the Lido restaurant, which is not at the pool, but rather upstairs. She also surprised us with one of her favorite hotel treats, fresh coconut water (served in coconuts) before we left for the airport.

Brittany at the spa was fantastic as well. She had a recipe of one of the spa treats (Coconut Date balls!) delivered to my room, along with a bag of the delicious treats.

Gita, my Aesthetician at the Spa provided not only a very effective and relaxing Facial, but had the same sincere love for her job and the property as every other staff member that i have mentioned and that we were lucky enough to meet.

The Four Seasons Surf club deserves recognition and applause. It is fabulous for couples and for families as well - our boys will come next time we are lucky enough to visit. Thank you all so much.

I rarely review hotels, but this place is special. My lovely bride and I spent a week here in early July 2020, during the era of COVID-19. The Four Seasons has contactless check in, which was handled very smoothly. My bride wanted to stay on the property, so we ate at least two meals a day there. The breakfasts in the Champagne Room and room service were excellent. The most impressive thing about this hotel is the service. From the valets and front desk to the food servers and incredible pool-side service, this hotel stands out above the rest. Highly recommended.

We just returned from a four night stay at this property. I'll start with the positive: the Richard Meier building is beautiful. Well done. Ocean view room had a beautiful view and was well laid out.

Now the rest:

First of all, you cannot see the ocean from the restaurant, the pools, or the cabanas. Whatever you do, do not pay $600 for a cabana. It sits on a small 3 foot deep pool with no view of the ocean. As another poster mentioned, there are no hot tubs either.

The service is extremely poor. You cannot reach anyone by calling down from your room directly - try to call room service or housekeeping, and one main number answers and tries to facilitate for you but does not deliver. I asked for hangers on our first day and they were never delivered, even though I asked multiple times. We sent down laundry and the service was messed up.

They don't have a dedicated concierge - they just have people at the front desk who may or may not be in a position to offer good advice.

There's also not really much to do at all. Rather dull for a teenager. The pools are fairly small and sad with no ocean view. The ocean is nice if the condition permits but there are plenty of other places you can stay for that.

The location: the beach is nice because it is relatively quiet / not too many people around. But the overall location is fairly inconvenient. We were frequently driving 30+ minutes to get places. We weren't able to swim because it was either raining or there was a jellyfish warning.

The Sireneuse restaurant is ok but not great. One of the dishes was not as described on the menu and another was not hot. The chef is relatively inflexible about any modifications or preferences.

Conclusion: stay somewhere else. Not worth the expense and you will be disappointed.

On our way to depositing our youngest in college, right in the middle of the worst of the pandemic in Flordia, we arrived at The Four Seasons Surf Club. We were scanned for temperature (irrelevant but a nice effort) and then whisked to our room. The room was spacious with a view over the bay. Everything was a bit subdued due to the pandemic but oh what a tranquil spot. Service as top notch as it always is at FS. You never feel like an overlooked guest, as you do at many influencer type places. FS knows where the $ is and who their repeat clientele are...and they make sure to take care of you because they want you back. No ask was too big/small and always handled immediately. We love the FS and we will be back.

This is a hybrid facility. They built a hotel (77 rooms) and 2 ugly condo towers on this site. The old Surf Club has charm and beauty. The other parts are Miami Beach tacky. Luckily, the hotel dwellers were housed in the Surf Club with dining and beach access. The rooms in the high rise were utilitarian. We had a city view with a balcony. We faced west and south with the Miami skyline in the distance. But the problem was not with the physical plant; the staff were all accommodating and pleasant, but there was total inconsistency in the food service, especially at the breakfast in the Lido. Order a fruit plate on Monday you get one thing; order the same thing the next day, and something else comes. Also, the schedule for the service for breakfast seems to change by the day as well. It is said that consistency is the hobgoblin of small minds; when it comes to the 4S chain, I WANT CONSISTENCY. That's why I pay up for the pleasure of staying there. Need to do some work to get this place up to the 4S standards.

FS service is always good, but at Surfside it’s incredible. We came to the hotel for spa appointments and dinner at Lido and we’re blown away by the incredible service. What makes this hotel so special is that they anticipate your needs which makes for the most relaxing and enjoyable experience possible. The front desk staff, spa staff and our waiter all went above and beyond and made our experience unforgettable. While we didn’t stay at the hotel this time we definitely will on our next trip to Miami. This place is simply the best and we cannot recommend it enough. If you’re reading reviews and wondering if it’s worth the price it definitely is…nothing quite like the FS magic.

We really enjoyed our trip to the Four Seasons at the Surf Club and our pool attendant, Fernando, was a large part of this experience. We used this vacation as a chance to just relax and enjoy the beautiful beaches of Bal Harbour. Therefore, the pool service was really important in defining our trip. We are so thankful to have had Fernando as our pool attendant for most of the trip. Fernando was there to make sure we were taken care of every step of the way -- from snacks, to sunscreen, to towels, to water, to calling our waiter, to switching our chairs around so that we could manage the sun, Fernando was really an incredible attendant. He even helped me find my phone! He was also kind, polite, fun to talk to, and an all around pleasure to be around. I'll definitely be back and be requesting him as my pool attendant!

I consider it very inappropriate for a restaurant to abuse the good faith of its guests by offering special dishes at absurdly high prices. The Four Seasons hotel chain enjoys a very high prestige should not have resorted to tricks to increase the billing of its restaurants.
Last night I invited my girlfriend to dinner at La Sirenuse and the waiter offered us a pasta as the special of the day, but he did not warn us of its enormous price of $ 150.00.
The restaurant left us a disappointment with a bill of $ 550.00 for two people with two glasses of wine.
The worst part is that the pasta was mediocre. The restaurant improves billing but loses loyal guests as is our case.

We just spent 3 wonderful nights at The Surf Club. It may be one of our favorite hotels ever. From the start, the great concierge desk of Julia B (and Maria too) were so responsive to my emails and helped plan our weekend and make dinner reservations. Check in with Johnny and Leo was so efficient and both were charming. Our corner studio suite was gorgeous with amazing views.
The weekend was wonderful. This hotel is very small and feels intimate, even though they were fully committed the entire weekend. Service is amazing- Sarah served us almost every breakfast and lunch and was so nice. She always stopped by to say hi to us. Alex was so nice as was Guillaume. The food is fabulous at Lido- our dinner here was much better than our dinner at The Surf Club. The pool is not crowded and it was always easy to find a nice spot. The pool staff was amazing- Erica, Josh and others took great care of us. I can't say enough nice things about this hotel.
