I had stayed at this hotel many years ago, in the age before Trip Advisor and on-line reviews, possibly in the last millennium. Much has changed since.
I always enjoyed the convenience, the direct connection to the terminal building, but service did not leave an impact. Now, it does. The front desk and porter service is efficient, warm, and helpful. The business lounge staff on floor eight are also friendly. The SPG representatives were eager to listen to any critique and make the place even better.
In a 2 week period, I stayed on 3 occasions for 4 nights and 6 days. All stays were enjoyable. They had a room for me for 3 early arrivals and 1 late departure. The gym is excellent. The free apples and cold water were a plus. Breakfast at the eighth floor lounge includes many nice options. Internet is fast. Room service could have been better, but with so many options available in the train station-terminal area, it may not be the best place for the hotel to make an investment. Rooms have a refrigerator, so one can buy meals at Albert Heijn, which I did: very good sushi.
Overall, it is a fabulous place to base oneself at Schiphol Amsterdam.
