It’s the little things that let this hotel down

I stayed one night as was between flights & had my tiny dog with me. This is a beautiful hotel so why an average review? Firstly it is VERY expensive. I paid for an upgrade to a room on the club floor - not sure what the ultimate benefit was to be honest! My dog was not permitted in any of the dining areas (she’s a very tiny chihuahua who could have been kept in a bag. So I had no option but to order room service for dinner. However nobody answered the room service number any time I tried & likewise with reception. Therefore I had to book it online using my phone & a QR code. Fine for dinner. But I had to wait until 6am to order breakfast in the same way, no joy getting anyone to answer the phone. Very frustrating. Also the people in the room above me were extraordinarily noisy after midnight. There was no fridge in the room - I had some chicken for my dog that I wanted to keep fresh. I ordered an ice bucket with dinner and used that by placing the chicken in a plastic bag into the bucket. But no fridge in a room of that standard is incredible. Finally, my last issue is that when at the airport for my flight I realised that my spectacles weren’t in my hand baggage. I was worried I’d left them in my room & rang the hotel. I was told that housekeeping would be asked but that I needed to put my request in an email. I did so. I heard no more. When my flight landed at the other side there were no voicemails or emails from the hotel. Luckily I found my spectacles in my checked-in suitcase. But why no reassuring message from the hotel that they hadn’t been left in my room? It would have been the courteous thing to do. I had explained on the phone that I would need them to be able to drive my hire car. All in all, notwithstanding the lovely room etc, I was irritated in the main. I have another night booked for my return trip in a couple of weeks & not excited at the prospect

We would like to thank you for taking the time to write a comment regarding your stay with us. It was a sincere pleasure to welcome you to our hotel as one of our guests. Our ambition is to make your stay as comfortable as possible, with the genuine care and comfort you deserve. Hence, we are mournful to learn that our services did not fully meet your expectations.
We are sorry to read your comments regarding the fact that your dog was not allowed in the dinning areas. Even if our rooms are pet friendly, our policy does not allow us to have pets in the dinning areas regardless their size. We understand your point of you and we are sorry you ended up disappointed because of this. Moving on, when you noticed that the Room Service is not picking up, you could have called the Reception. They would have immediately help you reach the their department and detect the reason why they were not picking up the phone. Regarding the noisy people that were above you, we would have been happy to be informed about the situation so that we could go, check them and kindly ask them to respect the others by being quiet. Moving on, not all our rooms have a fridge. On request, when a guest needs to store something in the fridge, our employees can do so for them. We are truly sorry to read your comments regarding the fact that you were not contacted regarding your lost spectacles. We can imagine that this affected your stay into a less positive one. Therefore, we would like to offer our sincere apologies. Please be assured that your comments will be shared with the head of the Housekeeping department.

Always nice to be back in Amsterdam and the Sheraton in the aiport never fails. It was renovated during Covid and the roooms are now very fresh. The working desk was taken away but there are still enough space in the room to work with a laptop.

Stayed at this newly renovated hotel
By far one of the best Sheratons

Very clean room
Excellent team , engaged and most important with a great smile

We had breakfast in the restaurant a super buffet with many fresh and locally sourced products and a brilliant breakfast chef

With the cold weather it is ideal this hotel is connected directly to airport and train station

I decided to book this hotel for the night before my flight back to the Us and I was not disappointed. The hotel is connected to the airport and you never have to go outside. They have a beautiful lounge/restaurant on the first floor and a fantastic breakfast buffet in the morning. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I stayed on the club level as a Marriot gold member and there is a private lounge serving snacks and drinks as well.

I was not expecting this level of luxury at an airport hotel. I had no problem sleeping - no noise from the airport at all.

I used points for family traveling from Europe and catching an early flight. Bonvoy had made a mistake and not added family names to the reservations which would have prevented check in as I was not traveling with them. Not surprisingly I was contacted by Priya Mobach, VIP & Club Service Supervisor, that there could potentially be an issue at check in. I was able to contact Bonvoy and avoided any issues. She is a valuable asset to the Sheraton Schiphol Team and one of the best in the business. If you have not been to the property in the last 2 years they have done a complete renovation and the rooms look great!

I really enjoy this hotel and especially since the refurbishments that were done recently. The hotel is very convenient to the terminal with a 5 mins walk but separate so no extra noise and also to catch a train to go into the city or elsewhere in the area which is very practical. I was able to test the upper executive floors with great views, the always practical coffee/tea station which I use morning and evening upon return. The rooms are spacious, efficient, modern and has all the amenities needed. The front desk staff is kind and welcoming and VIP services and manager outstanding. I definetly recommend if you are in AMS!

Room tip: great views of airport, easily accessible to terminal/trains even for reduce mobility persons
