We "landed" here after two flights and luggage that did not follow us to Budapest. So we were tired and more than a little bit fried when we arrived for just a one night's stay prior to meeting up with our river cruise ship. Needless to say, we were very grateful that the hotel could accommodate the request we made with the cruise line's reservation to check in early!
The staff were very solicitous from the start. We asked about a place where we could go to purchase some personal care products that were in our lost luggage and they insisted we provide a list of items as they likely had them to send up to our room. We did and they did. Although we still needed to do a little shopping at a drugstore just a couple of blocks away, this was much appreciated.
Throughout our little stay we encountered lovely staff. There was a great concierge who arranged a fabulous dinner restaurant walkable from the hotel, bellmen made sure we had an umbrella, and servers were happy to chat with us at breakfast.
The hotel building itself reminded me of those big, elegant, solid bank buildings from the early 20th century yet the decor was very residential 21st century modern. Colors revolved around cream, gold, and blue with touches of wood. Our room had tall ceilings, one of those currently popular glass ball chandeliers, and teal glass-based lamps. The bathroom was large with a separate shower and tub, although it was laid out in a less than convenient configuration. (Pet peeve: the bathroom wastebasket had a cover that you had to touch to push in the garbage, so just throwing away a little item meant you had to wash your hands yet again.)
The bed was comfortable but after a little nap we both realized our allergies were kicking up from the feathers in the pillows, etc. and so we asked for the room to be feather-free before bedtime, which was cheerfully accomplished. If the air conditioning wasn't running we noticed the room smelled a bit musty, so we made sure to turn the thermostat down so it'd run more and that worked. If we were staying for longer than one night, I might have requested another room because of this.
Located near a lot of stuff us visitors want to visit, we were able to walk to everything we intended to see for this one night (Christmas markets at St. Stephen's Basilica, Fashion Street, a great dinner restaurant, etc.).
The next time we're in Budapest, I would definitely look at staying here again.

The staff was amazing and very attentive, catered to our every needs!! My wife and I traveled to Europe to go and rescue her mother from Kyiv Ukraine. Upon arrival and the rest of the trip there, the staff went out of their way to assist us with everything to make our stay as stress free as possible. The wait staff in the restaurant was more than excellent in serving us and prepared food for us (without us asking) for our trip to the Slovakian/Ukrainian border. Upon return to the hotel after picking up my wife's mother, they ensured that she was comfortable and assisted us in finding pharmacies and medical clinics to attend to her medical needs. The entire staff that interacted with us were very humble and genuine, made our stay the absolute best! The hotel itself was amazing with plenty to offer and make our stay feel like home. The food was delicious, well prepared, and displayed superbly. They even surprised me for my birthday there with a great breakfast, dessert in our room, and managed to get my wife and I tickets to the ballet allowing us to destress for just a little bit during the trying time. The staff who took care of our room were also amazing and made sure we had plenty of toiletries and other items constantly on hand in our room. Our family stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Budapest in August 2019 during our summer vacation. We had chosen this hotel to stay at for the second half of our stay in Budapest. The hotel is as central as they come, with major attractions just stone's throw away. The main metro hub is also on the doorstep.
Right off the bat, what was peculiar, and what I have not found at other Ritz Properties before was that a few of the staff at the reception desk while checking in were on the border of being rude. (that was never repeated, and may be they were just having an off day that day)This was a turn off!! The other staff, especially the dedicated concierge and the housing staff was very good.
Housed in an attractive 19th-century building in the city center, the hotel has elegant and sophisticated common areas and guest rooms. We were boarded in two Palace Suites, and they were comfortable and spacious, and everything that could be expected at a Ritz Carlton (we just felt that the mattress were a little too soft!) The panoramic views and access to one's own French balcony were great. The Club Lounge access, as always, was a welcome perk, and it did not disappoint. Children loved to use the Club Lounge, and enjoy like they always do the pâtisseries and various savory snacks. The Kupola Lounge is situated beneath the iconic stained glass cupola which is the ideal place for a rich breakfast, a light lunch or an afternoon tea. The breakfast buffet was quite good.
Depending on where in the hotel one is boarding, one can hear the noise of the trains at times. Though in our rooms we had no such issues.
Overall a good experience!

I was staying at the hotel , and had returned with my partner to have a nightcap in the cocktail bar on Saturday night. The bar was almost deserted at 10.30pm when six ladies entered and politely asked to be seated in order to have a cocktail. The barman was extremely unhelpful, and, I have to say, rather contemptuous and supercilious in his treatment of them. He stated that all the tables were reserved.....even the one that had not been cleared after earlier guests had left. There were numerous empty tables. They suggested sitting at the bar, there were 5 empty barstools...but he again refused saying that a party of six could not be accommodated there. It was very clear to the ladies ( who were very pleasant, well mannered and middle aged ), and to the rest of the guests that he did not want them in the bar. At this stage he half heartedly offered to phone the restaurant to see if they could be accommodated there. Clearly embarrassed the ladies politely declined and left. We stayed on for a while, but at no point were the tables filled. If I had not witnessed it, I would not believe the treatment received by these British ladies. I will think twice before booking with this hotel chain again. Shame on them.

Stayed for a weekend trip and had a lovely experience. We received a perfect service from the moment we arrived; glasses of wine provided during the booking in process and the reception and door staff were welcoming, helpful and efficient.
The hotel is beautifully maintained and we couldn’t fault anything. We had a deluxe room which was spotlessly clean and roomy, the bed was just fabulous and the coffee machine and mini-bar well stocked with anything you could need.
The breakfast staff deserve a special mention for being so friendly and attentive, the service really was fantastic and made it hard to leave the hotel and go sightseeing!

We just finished an 8 night stay at the Ritz Carlton Budapest. Everything about this hotel was beyond my expectation. Housekeeping was on point, every staff member I encountered was helpful and pleasant and the room was gorgeous and very comfortable. My husband decided to purchase the club level access for this trip to make things a little easier for us and it more than paid for itself. The longe itself doesn’t open until noon, but breakfast is included in their restaurant downstairs. The breakfast was really good every day with a generous buffet and the included option to order one item off of the menu, as well. When the lounge was open, we were so impressed with the food and the service. We ate lunch and dinner in there many days and our favorite thing each night was the pizza. But everything I tried in there was delicious. The lounge staff were beyond amazing. Kata, Yazmin and Adele were so attentive; always asking what they could get for us, offering suggestions for activities and restaurants and ultimately they were just so kind and welcoming each day. They always had a smile on their faces and never made us feel like we were a burden in any way. Adele was working our last few nights in a row and she was just a super star. I told her how much I liked their Royal Chocolate Cake (apparently a specialty of this particular hotel) and she made sure to get some for me the next couple of nights, even bringing some to my room one evening when we retired early and making sure some got sent with me in my to-go breakfast for our early morning return flight. She went above and beyond to make our stay so wonderful. I cannot recommend this hotel and specifically the club level enough. It will become your home away from home during your visit. All around, the hospitality at this hotel was impeccable.

Wow I could not fault this place.. stunning hotel! I don't normally write reviews but I had to for this. Everything was perfect from start to finish, I'd booked to stay for my boyfriends birthday for a weekend and I'd contacted the concierge beforehand to see if there was anything they could do. Without hesitation they sorted out balloons and an absolutely delicious chocolate cake... he loved it!!
The room was gorgeous along with the rest of the hotel super modern and classy. Was so lovely to meet the really friendly staff who were there to help you if you had any requests they'd sort it. Breakfast was lovely as well.. we felt spoilt for choice. The breakfast staff were super attentive offering coffee regularly and checking up to see how we was - great service.
Location was one of the best things about this hotel, it was in the middle of the busy shopping district. We basically walked everywhere it was a lovely way to see the city.
As my boyfriend and I train regularly the only thing I would say is the gym was small and lacks equipment. But you can make do with what's there it's not the end of the world.
A massive thank you again to all the staff at The Ritz-Carlton Budapest it was a truely memorable stay and we will be back if we visit Budapest again.

We stayed here in mid December for the Christmas market and the location was perfect, right in the heart of all the action and easy to access anywhere in Budapest. The service was exceptional with everyone being attentive, courteous and interested. It was my husband's birthday and we received a lovely hand written card and scrumptious cake. The room was a good size and the bathroom was spacious and the shower powerful and wonderful. The facilities were great especially the gym and swimming pool; nice to relax after lots of walking and readying oneself for the evening entertainment. Choice for breakfast was vast and so much to choose from; again service attentive but not intrusive. Would definitely recomment this hotel and can't wait to stay again

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. A fantastic experience all together. This hotel is ideally located in the center of Budapest, a 25mn drive from the international airport. We particularly would like to mention the excellence of the staff at all levels. Very informative, friendly and keen on making us feel welcome and looked after. We had two great in-room dining experiences; we recommend the Wagyu burger and the Duck flautas, both excellent. Breakfast is served from 7am to 11am and was perfect with a lot to choose from. Go for the bird's nest, excellent! The gym and swimming pool are on the 8th floor and it was great to see that all Covid precautions were also taken there. Least but not last the quality of the hardware in general is very high. I would only mention the bed, what a bed! I recently read a review mentioning "it is like sleeping in a cloud". I couldn't agree more; the best bed in the 100+ 5 Star hotels we have stayed at over the years. We will alway come back to the Ritz when in Budapest.

We were very happy with our stay here and would happily go back.
The rooms were very nice, and large.
The hotel is in a great location, with the metro and bus lines useful for getting to key sightseeing activities both right outside.
The staff were very good, including the concierges, who helped us with a number of good recommendations and got us in to a couple of places we couldn't get in to ourselves.

I was at the Ritz Carlton last week and I must say it was incredible
Room was excellent the club lounge accommodated my every need
The supervisor Hanadi was what appeared to be in total control of the environment
Further I experienced the best Goulash I have ever experienced
There are more places to choose from in the Budapest area.
