We had a forced layover in Amsterdam on our way home from South Africa, due to a medical emergency on board that caused a flight diversion to Spain. Because of the diversion we missed our flights and the airline booked us on the next day's flight. All of the 'airline partner' hotels were sold out (go figure) so we had the pick of the pricey ones left. We stayed at the Sheraton which is attached to Schipol. We got a club floor room with a king bed.
While the staff was very friendly and helpful, the the room was clean, it was average on all fronts. Very small, no view, 4 hrs free wifi. *please!*. The good part was the club lounge which was very good - had a good selection of food and drinks for extended hours so we ended up breakfasting there before our flight the next morning and it was more than enough.
Was it worth the price? No. But was it convenient on a layover? Absolutely. And that's how they can charge those crazy prices!

Dear cmoj, Thank you for choosing Trip Advisor as a way of expressing your thoughts on how you experienced our hotel. We value all guest comments, and constructive feedback helps us to continually improve upon our services and facilities. I am happy to hear you enjoyed our close proximity to the airport and our Sheraton Club Lounge, great to hear. However unfortunately you incurred some inconveniences with our internet connection. I am happy to inform you that you are able to connect to free WiFi during your entire stay with us. Again, thank you for posting your review on Trip Advisor. We hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon here at the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel. Warm regards, Paul Chevalier

We booked this hotel prior to going on a river cruise. We felt that the connection between flights for our flight the next day was too tight, so we flew the day before and stayed at this hotel. The hotel is ideally located just outside the airport terminal and is only a very short walk from the baggage reclaim area. The check-in process was very efficient and quick. We were allocated a SPG room on the sixth floor of the hotel. There was a coffee machine on this floor so no need to go thirsty. The room was very nice and very well appointed. It was also very clean. The beds and the pillows were really comfortable and we had a great nights sleep ahead of our flight the next day. The bathroom was very large with a bath and a separate shower cubicle. There was an abundance of luxury toiletries. The bathroom was very clean.

The hotel is ideally located, only a short walk away from the train station where you can catch a train into Amsterdam Central. To buy a ticket you need to go to a ticket machine in the airport terminal and select the best ticket for your needs. We purchased a one day return to Amsterdam. The machines only take credit cards. Don't forget to scan your ticket as you go out of the airport terminal before you get on the train. The scanners are located on poles at the exit to the airport prior to the station.

We had dinner in the Sheraton restaurant after looking around the airport for a suitable place to have dinner. We couldn't find anything appropriate, so we went back to the Sheraton restaurant. I have done a separate review of the restaurant. The restaurant has two separate menus. One is a cheaper version and very adequate. Don't forget to ask for it if the server doesn't give you it.

We had a great stay at this hotel and would definitely return when flying out of Schiphol airport again.

Dear David N, Thank you very much for your review on your stay at The Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Center. We really appreciate the fact that you took the time to write such a complete story on your experiences with us. Our ambition is to provide our guests with memorable experiences and I am so delighted to learn that we were able to make your short trip in Amsterdam even more enjoyable. As from your comments you took advantage of our location with transport facilities in proximity, shops and food and drink possibilities. Furthermore, I am especially glad to hear you enjoyed our Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed. Did you know that it consists out of 13 layers in order to stimulate the pressure points in your body, and that you can find this bed in all Sheraton Hotels around the world? It is very easy to order one and have it delivered to your home. Please have a look at sheraton-hotelsathome.com or contact us and we will direct you. To continue, I am happy to hear that you have chosen one of our own restaurant to have dinner. We indeed have a variety of restaurants available. Our Runway café behind the Front Desk and our Voyager restaurant situated at our Atrium floor service a fine dining a la carte menu. I am happy to read your compliments regarding the quality of your room, the service and location, which I have shared with the team. Until we see you again I wish you all the best from my team and myself Warm regards, Paul Chevalier

Stayed one night for a flight transfer. Greatly valued that you could book connecting family rooms. Food was great - including room service. Beds were comfortable, rooms clean and staff friendly. Connected to the airport, this would be my go to hotel if ever transferring through Amsterdam again.

We had outstanding customer service from Jamie, the Duty Manager, and the rest of the staff at the Sheraton at Schipol.

We stayed briefly for one night and, unfortunately, left a few things in the room. Chalk it up to a Jet lag from an overseas flight. The hotel was fantastic and securing the items and we were able to circle back a few days later. The hotel is also great in offering to help us secure some lost luggage on the airline.

That’s why we like to stay at places like the Sheraton, they really do take care of their customers!

We stayed here for one night in advance of our flight the next day. The hotel literally couldn't be more convenient to the airport as it is connected to the terminal.

We reserved a twin room and were given one toward the far end of a hallway. The room was very quiet despite having a view of the planes on the tarmac. It seems that the room is set up so that it can be twin beds or a single king, depending on the need. At any rate the beds were very close together. That didn't bother us but might bother some folks.

In the far corner of the room was a chair with an ottoman. Across from the beds was a single piece of furniture that combined the desk and a cabinet with the mini-fridge and the drinking glasses. The TV was mounted on the wall just above this.

The bathroom had a soaking tub and a separate shower stall. The bathroom counter was fairly large, making it easy to find places for our toiletry bags.

While there was no coffee or tea setup in the room, there was a central coffee/tea station on the floor near the elevator and the vending machine. I would assume other floors are designed the same way.

The gym was on the main floor near the front desk and was nice and large.

We chose to eat breakfast out in the terminal as the restaurant, which is on the lower level, is pretty pricy.

This is not a cheap location but it is super-convenient which can mean a lot, especially if you have an early-morning flight.

We were there for only one night and our room did not have a sofa bed, but I would think a hotel that big would have a larger room for a 3rd person.. The main reason we stayed at this hotel was the easy access to the airport. The hotel is connected to the airport.

I had a similar issue - I found that emailing or messaging the hotel directly was the best way to set things up. Even after setting it up, the reservation still said it was for overnight, but that is the only type of reservation their computer system recognizes. The staff knows and handles it well.

Hi, I would take the day room. Customs and luggage will take 60-90 minutes. And you have the room until 3pm in case of a needed nap. but it's your call. thanks
