This charming Inn which is on the list of National Historic Places was built in 1730. Once inside there is a feeling of traveling back in time in our nations history. I was looking for someplace to stay that was not the usual chain hotel experience and the Old Orchard Beach Inn fulfilled my expectations wonderfully. The Inn is located right at the top of this beach towns attractions so you can walk to everything! The large porch is set back from the street and I enjoyed sitting there to watch the world go by. The staff was more than friendly and would do anything to make my stay enjoyable. If you're looking for a comfortable stay with old world charm I would happily recomend the Old Orchard Beach Inn.

Although the property and rooms were lovely don’t expect a decent breakfast. I stayed two times for one night stays within a week. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs from a mix (the second visit they’d run out and could provide them), pop tarts, boxed cereals like for a child, no butter, yogurts, bananas, hard boiled eggs, English muffins and bagels. The Keurig coffeemaker which is always available didn’t have pods to use. They didn’t refresh supplies. One morning I brought my own Greek yogurt and blueberries and other visitors looked on with wondering where I’d found them.
I think breakfast might have been better if they’d offered boxed doughnuts and danish. Pop tarts????? Really!!!!!

The Old Orchard Beach Inn is an historic building tastefully preserved while providing comfort and hospitality to weary travelers.

On a vacation planned elsewhere in Maine, my vehicle suddenly died on a Sunday morning with no open auto repair, and 470 miles from home, I am stranded. It's summer and Old Orchard Beach is a popular vacation spot. AAA steered me to one of the last rooms available at this bed and breakfast. Their reviews promised clean, comfortable accommodations at a reasonable price.

I got so much more! The end is over 200 years old, and still laid out pretty much as it would have served visitors in the Victorian era. My room is decorated with tasteful wallpaper, lacy curtains, quilt covered cherry bed frame and what I'm almost sure are the original ceiling beams . But I also have a modern TV, dorm- sized refrigerator with freezer and microwave, WiFi and clean flooring. The mattress is divine. The bathroom accoutrements are high quality. This morning's complimentary breakfast included fresh watermelon, eggs, toast, yogurt -- and delicious coffee. And most of all, every single staff member has gone out of their way to smile, offer suggestions, point out amenities and in every way make what would otherwise be a bad situation absolutely bearable.

Bonus: the beach is visible from the top floor and only a five minute walk away.

This place is old— like really old which I guess is part of its charm. However, there’s no one working there. You check yourself in— anyone can walk right in-, find your key and go to your room. The rooms upstairs were small, the mattress was creaky and uncomfortable. Breakfast was barely edible. On top of that, there is only one person working the entire 18 room hotel. One person cleaning, cooking and checking people out. Avoid this place.

Check in was easy and everyone was friendly. The stairs to the second floor are not too bad but when you open the door to the suite you immediately have very narrow steep steps to ascend. There were some cleaning issues in the room- dirty bath towel hanging behind bathroom door and used soap in the shower. Also old food and an almost empty drink bottle were left in the refrigerator. They did take care of the issues immediately but I am concerned about how well the room was cleaned before we arrived.
Parking is free and it is an easy walk to the pier. Highly recommend Mainely Lobster for outdoor eating. The lobster bisque and clam chowder are delicious.

Avoid avoid avoid. This place is not as it’s described in its listing. It’s supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, but we were presented with a heavily smoke smelling room which my infant daughter couldn’t sleep in due to a respiratory condition. Manager refused to allow us to swop rooms, refused to engage with me, refused to even acknowledge the smell at all. In fact he was very unpleasant and unprofessional. My daughter had to sleep on a blow up mattress on the floor of the second room; he refused any help to sort the issue out.
Additionally, the beds are the creakiest old things I’ve ever come across that wake you up whenever you turn over, there are no curtains on the windows so kids will be up at dawn and the cleanliness was also a problem in the bathroom. If the sun doesn’t wake you the trains hooting their horns starting at 0500 will!
Breakfast was utter chaos and randomly happens in another B&B a couple of houses up the road. Not sure why, but not enough room or seats for everyone.
Apparently this place used to have a great reputation, but it’s been bought out so the previous reviews are sadly no longer true.
If you’re happy with all that crack on and book it. Otherwise, I’d stay away and find somewhere else!!

Our room had two high posted beds. The wood floors were historic wide board design. The lights were also historic in design.
Ther morning breakfast was warm, freshly prepared and served in a small room off the tnrerance.
The staff is few in number but powerful in service. The walk to the restaurants is only a few minutes from the hotel. Everything about this experience was positive. There were no negatives that we encountered. Just perfect.

My sister and I had the good fortune to spend the night of Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Old Orchard Beach Inn. Our room was very clean, comfortable, quiet, and elegant! We especially want to thank (1) the young lady who helped us with our questions on the night of the 28th, and (2) an additional young lady who prepared a really great breakfast for us on the Sunday AM. We hope to be back for another stay next fall.

This was the most disappointing “inn” we have ever stayed at. We expected old, but this probably had the same decor the last fifty years. It was cheaply decorated then with reproduction looking antiques, but now it is downright sad. The blinds are plastic, the bed was sagging and the breakfast offering was a joke. There were no on site personnel to be found however there was a number to call for any issues. To their credit our issue (non functioning toilet) was resolved within an hour.

The room was charming and the bed comfy. It is the end of the summer and the inn was quiet, and people were friendly. The staff was nice and helpful. They have a small library on the second floor. You can grab yourself a cup of hot tea or coffee and cuddle up with a good book. Just what I needed! The room was also equipped with a refrigerator, which came in handy!
