We stayed here for two nights on a tour. Hotel was very clean as was our room. Room had a odd floor plan however we made it work for us. The bed was comfy and the room had all of the amenities that we needed. Breakfast was good and we also had a lunch in the restaurant also that was nice. Had a wonderful stay.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in October. Our overnight flight had us arriving in Barcelona in late morning but the staff graciously let us check in early and gave a us quiet room away from the street traffic. The room was very clean. While a little smaller than we were used to in American hotels, it was comfortable and an efficient use of space. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if we ever get back to Barcelona.

Centrally located for business or pleasure, this hotel is the perfect place for you! The service at the front desk, the breakfast, the restaurant, and the GM were over the top helpful and professional! We appreciated an arranged taxi service when we arrived and departed to BCN airport...especially helpful when we had extra bags and not familiar with the city!

The hotel on the outside is an older building, but the updated modern decor on the inside was top notch throughout. Our room was so incredibly comfortable with high end bedding, lighting, towels, and cleaned to perfection with great protocols for our newest pandemic. Extra lovely details to make our stay incredibly comfortable.

Food was DELICIOUS. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, The Level Lounge, the restaurant and all was over the top fresh and tasty with local flare. We loved the restaurant were we enjoyed the flavors from their michilen starred chef! We had an early morning flight back to the US and they even prepared a picnic box for us with a coffee togo!

Service beyond belief! So many choices of hotels...but this is what sets this hotel apart...the Christines at the front desk, the servers at the restaurant, the Level Lounge, the breakfast room were amazing and SO accommodating. Bravo to Marc Passola, the Manager who leads this fine group and shows such compassion for running and caring about his staff and this property!

I have no idea how they can call themselves a 5 star hotel with the sub standard level of service we experienced here. The front of house staff were arrogant, rude and ultimately didn’t know their jobs. We’d booked a specific type of room for our family with a dividing door that they said was available online but when we arrived it wasn’t. And as we’d booked via a third party we couldn’t just cancel and find somewhere else. When we complained they put us in 2 rooms with a dividing door then tried to charge us for the extra room despite this being their fault and the hotel being only half full anyway. They had no handover system between staff which meant us having to keep re explaining our room predicament each day to new people as we tried to get them to not charge us for the extra room. On one occasion housekeeping staff simply forgot to clean our room. I’ve never know this happen at a 3 star hotel let alone a 5 star. This was supposed to be a surprise family holiday to celebrate our anniversary and my wife’s birthday and they ruined it. The only positive thing I have to say about the place is that breakfast was great.

Family stay for 3 days in July.
The hotel is in a great location for some of the highlights in Barcelona, if you intend to visit La Rambla it is a taxi ride or long walk away.
The hotel staff were generally friendly and very helpful.
The hotel itself seriously needs updating to be considered a 5 star property. The rooms while large are very dated with some dubious design decisions like the glass panel between the shower and the bedroom? If you visit the bathroom at night light streams into the bedroom and wakes everyone up!
Our room had some odd holes in the floor covered by the carpet that I kept catching my toes on as well.
During our stay we were out for a whole day and on return to our room it hadn’t been made up or towels refreshed necessitating a visit to reception to request this. Reception were very apologetic but really should’t need to do this in a 5 star property. So we ended needed to be out of our room again for a further period of time.
Also during our stay our floor had a very strong smell
of cannabis near our family room, not the best family experience.
The hotel has a nice pizza restaurant attached but lacks an evening bar space (or any that we could find) to sit down prior to retiring in the evening.
Overall a pleasant stay but not 5 star as we were expecting.

Melia continues its tradition of shocking service. Reception could not tell me if I had another room for this evening (I was part of an event) despite it being requested on Monday as I wanted to avoid checking out twice.

When the event company got involved the staff remained unhelpful so I now have the inconvenience of having to book somewhere else that actually wants customers.

In addition, a 5 star hotel tends to have showers that work properly, not the case here. And replenish things such as milk.

The same level of service is received in Paris so definitely avoiding in the future.

Note to hotel, I haven’t checked out as I had to rush back to the room to pack and then jump on a coach in order not to miss my meeting.

Stayed there for a business trip with a large group of colleagues . We had all our meetings there so it was very convenient. The breakfast was extremely good with a large variety of food. The first room was not great as the door would not lock but staff at reception offered another room more comfortable. Staff was Extremely friendly and helpful. So would recommend.

You know you’re enjoying your stay when you write a review before even checking out. We’ve been in Barcelona for two days. We arrived without booking a hotel. Last night I stayed at a different hotel, but the weather has been awful (constant rain) and I needed a hotel with an indoor pool to pass the time for myself and my teenager.

The spa is lovely. It cost €15pp for an hour, but if it’s quiet you can stay in longer. They have a large pool/jacuzzi and heated stone beds, a steam room and sauna. Children are allowed if supervised.

This hotel is really 5*. There are staff that welcome you and open the door. We arrived at midday, but they gave us a room straight away and although I only booked a basic twin, it’s on the 9th floor with a large bathroom and very clean.

All of the staff have been so friendly and laugh, so it’s not really posh, just a high standard.

The area is definitely more affluent than the hotel we stayed in last night. The road behind the hotel is like Beverly Hills. Really upmarket shops and lots of restaurants but they’re reasonably priced (€35 for 3 drunks, 2 mains and 2 sides).

It feels like a very safe area and I’d 100% stay here again.
The only negative is there’s no outside pool, but if you’re coming when it’s cool you don’t need that anyway (and there’s always the beach).

We informed the hotel, before we arrived, that we would be arriving late into the evening. We were travelling as a family of 4. Unfortunately when we arrived, the beds were not made up for the children, so it took another 40 mins to resolve these issues. There was no bedding for the additional bed and the sofa bed could not be pulled out (maintenance had to be called to support). I provided my details and asked for a call or email from the manager the following morning, nothing arrived.
We also went out for the day the following day, my son left his pyjama shorts on the sofa bed, when we came back the rooms had been made up and his pyjamas were missing. I can only assume they were caught up in the laundry. When I raised this, no one came back to me and I had to go to reception several times to check. I do not have the assurance that staff were bothered or even checked throughly before we left.
The hotel seems to be geared for business personnel, rather than families. That being said the rooms were nice, although the shower did keep flooding the bathroom. The wifi was also quite intermittent.

Hotel was perfectly situated for What we required. Selected a Level junior suite as we have previously been impressed with the level service and lounge. The Lounge was very disappointing, distinct lack of snacks and limited beverage options. There was no beer or lagers and even the soft bottle drinks were not chilled and just left out on the counter.
Our room was a generous size with good amenities.
The coffee at breakfast was frustrating, if the machine was working it was barely Luke warm.
Staff were all lovely and very friendly.

Hi Ian, you can get a metro, it won’t take you direct to the hotel but you can get a tram which is close to the hotel with a very short walk. Drassenes to Maria Cristina on the metro and then on ground level Maria Cristina to Frances Macia on the tram. Taxi might be easier if you have lots of luggage. Hope this helps.
