We stayed here at Christmas in the Level as we do every year, as usual everthing was fantastic. The staff as always were extremely polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel itself was clean and our suite was very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant a few times and we really enjoyed the Christmas menus. We are already planning our next visit.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel for 3 nights, two of which were part of a group escorted tour. We very pleased with the cleanliness, quality of the furniture and overall presentation of the hotel. We had a junior suite with a TV in the living room area and another one in the bedroom. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was immaculately cleaned each day. A few of the drawbacks for us were that it was too far for walks to the more popular tourist sites but walking paths, banks and buses were very close. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and had many choices for everyone. My favorite was the omelet chef who was more than happy to please with one of his creations or your choice. Pastries, bread, and sweet rolls were abundant. The machines that ground coffee beans and made coffee were a bit hard to understand at first but was great after we knew what was what. The restaurant on the 2nd floor offered a few unique choices and were priced a little high. The cheese restaurant on the ground floor didn't have enough choices, or people to serve but the wine and tapas were good. There was a little coffee shop next store to the hotel offered a few choices and was good for a quick breakfast. Overall I was generally pleased and felt it was a good first introduction for us to Spain, it's people and food. I would recommend it.

I cannot complain as other reviewers, because I've got a quiet room on the upper floors (1208), but don't expect to sleep with open windows (yes, they can be tilted-open) unless you're used to city noise.

Did neither try the gym/spa (that's probably why it's a 5 star hotel), nor the restaurant, however since the gym is open 24 hours and features fresh fruits, there's always a way to get something to eat for free...

The hotel is set a bit apart, along avenida Diagonal, so not as central as they claim. Closest metro station is nearly 1km away (L3 Les Corts or L5 Hospital-Clínic). T3 (Francesc Macià) is very close, but this one does not go downtown and the bus system is a bit confusing for short stayers. I had to commute to Fira Gran Via convention center and it took nearly as long by public transportation than walking because of poor connections! Taxi, shared with a couple of coworkers was the best option for this 5km journey.
As a side note, I'd recommend the 'TMB virtual' App which is the most accurate and user friendly of the whole pack.

The room is modern but very dark (brown-black furniture, black tiles in the bathroom) which is not my preferred taste, as you can guess. However, during the night it is disturbingly bright to the point I was awakened: the TV set standby LED, aircon display, 2 emergency lighting and the corridor light were shining right into my face. Fortunately, there were enough spare pillows to cover those, the TV got unplugged, and my sleep went back to normal.

Breakfast is excellent with a large selection of warm and cold dishes; there's also an expresso machine for those who don't like filter coffee from the pot. Check the travel agency programs, because when tourist groups are planned to leave early, you'll have to fight your way to the food!

Reception staff was friendly and fast, wifi was working from the lobby and entire room.

This is a comfortable hotel, rooms are spacious with good quality beds and all you could need included, the breakfast selection is extensive and service generally very good. The bar area is disappointing, feels like an afterthought to the pizza restaurant. Location is fine, not that far from the center and plenty of restaurants etc in walking distance

The hotel is pretty much what you see in the pictures and read about in the reviews. It is clean, modern and very contemporary. The room was slighly smaller than pictured but still very nice. The reception area is beautiful and it had the most amaming fragrance when we entered. The staff were well presented, friendly and were knowledgable of the surronding area and gave us great tips about local area and what to visit.

We didn't go to the restaurant in the hotel only because we wanted to experience authentic spainish food. But make sure you get the breakfast as it was very good, they had everything you could possibly think of and more. It was 17.50 euros each but as a general point try to book this with your flight as you will save lots. There are a number of great restaurants close by and mini supermarkets. There is a great italian a 10min walk called Gino's. There is also subway, starbucks and KFC all within a 8-10min walk! We didn't go there but it was satisfying to know it was close by.

I would suggest walking around the hotel area as we found so many convienient little shops. The chemist is next door to the hotel which was really good.

I would HIGHLY recommend going to a restarant called Tapa Tapa which is located near the magic fountain. You can catch the number 27 bus, (again close to the hotel) all the they way to the last stop which is about 10mins. Great food, service and great staff. It is open til 1am and 2am on Fridays. Super busy but you don't wait too long for a table!

The bus tours stops were very close to the hotel, both the red and blue route were available to catch, we reccommend to buy a 2day pass as there is so much to see and it is easier than catching the metro or the bus. You can buy the bus tour tickets at the hotel as they offer a discount which was very handy.

The FC football staduim was also very close by but we decided to walk as the weather was amazing and it took about 30mins.

The local shopping destination was very close to the hotel, it reminded me of a mini Oxford Street. All the designer stores, department and favourties such as Zara, H&M, accesorize.

On the last night we went to the spa and swimming pool. The pool was smaller than what is pictured but overall it was clean, calming and very modern. The steam and sauna room were nice as you would expect. Unfortunetly I was unable to get a massage as it was fully booked, so ladies make sure you book in advance! The gym was small but convienient and it is free. The swimming pool, sauna and steam rooms are 15 euros each but if you get a treatment then it is free.
They provide you with towels, robes and slippers all complimentary.

Overall it was a great experience, I would definetly go back and stay. I hope this helps for anyone going to Barcelona for the first time.
