I have no idea how they can call themselves a 5 star hotel with the sub standard level of service we experienced here. The front of house staff were arrogant, rude and ultimately didn’t know their jobs. We’d booked a specific type of room for our family with a dividing door that they said was available online but when we arrived it wasn’t. And as we’d booked via a third party we couldn’t just cancel and find somewhere else. When we complained they put us in 2 rooms with a dividing door then tried to charge us for the extra room despite this being their fault and the hotel being only half full anyway. They had no handover system between staff which meant us having to keep re explaining our room predicament each day to new people as we tried to get them to not charge us for the extra room. On one occasion housekeeping staff simply forgot to clean our room. I’ve never know this happen at a 3 star hotel let alone a 5 star. This was supposed to be a surprise family holiday to celebrate our anniversary and my wife’s birthday and they ruined it. The only positive thing I have to say about the place is that breakfast was great.

First of all we would like to express our most sincere gratitude and appreciation for the time you have taken to send us your feedback and for choosing Melia Barcelona Sarria during your visit to Barcelona. We appreciate you have enjoyed our breakfast and thank you very much for mention it.

We are really sorry for the inconveniences you mentioned and also for the misunderstanding. This is not the type of feedback that we like to receive. We are a team that works with passion for service to create memorable experiences to our guests, a proof of it is the numerous congratulations we constantly receive.

We have carefully studied and shared your comments with the departments involved to give you an answer and I would like to inform you that you had booked a Family Room which is a room with only one space. You called us directly to the hotel because you would like a room with 2 divided spaces. We do have rooms with this description, but as we explained to you at that moment, these kind of rooms were not available for the dates requested. We offered you to book a new room that could be connected to the Family Room you had booked. We offered you a very special price for this second room and you were totally agree providing us details and your credit card to guarantee this second room. We sent you the confirmation to your email address specifying that this new reservation was direct payment at hotel upon arrival.

Pleased and with all due respect to you I would like you to take into account that this second room was never charged to you taking into account that this was a special ocassion for you and your family.

Although this misunderstanding we would dearly hope that this experience does not deter you from any further visits to our hotel or another hotel of our company, please we would be very grateful if you inform us beforehand of your next visit. It will be our great pleasure to take care of all necessary arrangements so that you enjoy a memorable stay with us at Melia Barcelona Sarria.

Good value for the money
We defntlly keep satying at melia hotels this our fourth time in differnt countrys and class stay the same
Exelent expiriance and great atitude from the staff we used the melia points the get even more discount and it was nice

We visited this hotel for 3 nights between Christmas and new year. We arrived late and checked in via the Level Reception. It was very quick and our room was on the 17th floor. On our arrival at the room, there was a dirty towel left in the bath which was not expected at a 5* hotel.

The hotel itself was good and in a fairly central location if you want to do some sightseeing in different locations.

The Level lounge was excellent with complimentary drinks and tapas all day and was a nice place to relax at the end of a busy day sightseeing.

We used the spa during our stay and this was good. The pool was quite small and not that warm but the sauna was excellent.

Our only complaint was the lack of decent eatery in the evening. We would normally stay at a Melia hotel half board but there wasn’t this option here. The only restaurant at the hotel was lacking in atmosphere and was generally unappealing. We went once and my husband ordered the Asian chicken with salad but asked to have chips instead of the salad but was told this was not possible but he could have potato bravas as well as the salad. We got charged an extra 10€ for the bravas! I had the tomato salad which was literally tomatoes and onions.

We would definitely return to this hotel but wouldn’t eat in their restaurant again.

Our Room in the 21st. Floor was bright and airy with a beautiful view of the Barcelona roofs and mountains. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom has shower and bathtub very convenient for soaking legs after walking all day. Spotless clean. The cabinetry in the bedroom are functional so we kept the luggage tidy. The front desk management very nice and polite, always with a nice smile. Breakfast was excellent: many pastrys, some homemade tartes, fresh fry eggs and so many delicatassen. The people at breakfast were very nice and always with the warm smile so the lady who cook the eggs! Thank you ALL for the nice short vacation. We always return to BCN and from now Melia Sarria will be our home.
The Location of the Melia Sarria is in a nice quite neighborhood where can mix with the locals. Within walking is very close to reach El Corte Ingles and the shopping area stores of Avenida Diagonal wich is very safe to walk at late night with many buses lines to go anywhere. Also very near to Barcelona Saints if you want to visit the towns of Sitges and other coast towns also near enough to catch the train to Costa Brava. And sooo convenient when you arrive or depart to Airport, you can catch a train and combine with tram that will leave around the corner of the Hotel.

Room tip: We stay in Floor 21st.. I always try to contact the Hotel as soon as I book to ask my requests

I stayed standard room. It was so clean. Hotel staff was perfect. Breakfast was perfect. Location is good for me. But my bed was shaking and noisy. Bathroom was good but room furnitures need renovated

Excellent location for business. Tourists may want to be a little closer to the "touristy" sections of Barcelona, i.e., Las Ramblas, etc. Hotel is 5 star, reasonably priced, clean and I found the staff to be helpful.
