This is a very modern and minimalistic hotel, centrally located in Shibuya on top of the Miyashita Park shopping mall. The bottom floor faces a rooftop park with two cafés, and the mall itself has a large number of shops and restaurants. However, the location really is the only outstanding aspect of this hotel. The rooms are tiny even by Japanese standards, in-room amenities are sparse, and the lobby easily gets overcrowded since it shares space with a café. If you want to be within walking distance of central Shibuya, there are certainly options that offer better comfort at a lower price.

Walking distance from Shibuya station. There’s a shopping mall downstairs like LV,Prada, Gucci. However it opens from 11am onwards. Quite a modern room design and love the full length window. Free wifi in rooms as well! Nearby there’s family mart! But don’t expect the rooms to be big, I stayed the medium room but no space to open full. Hence traveller do take note, if not I would recommend the next tier of bigger room for family of 3. Good location if you wanna explore Shibuya/Omotesando which are all walking distances. Shibuya scramble sky is just opposite. I would say for this hotel and this price I would recommend. Note, hotel does not provide taxi/transportation to/fro airport. Amenities like toothbrush/comb/shaver do take urself from the hotel lobby.

The good: the views were great, it wasn’t as noisy as other reviews had led us to expect (check the manual ventilation by the windows is closed if your room seems noisy), the check-in process was fine, we had a nice corner (king) room, the bed was comfortable, the shower and toiletries were great, the communal space downstairs by reception is nice, and the park area outside is too although the lawn was dead when we visited – think they were about to replace it.

The not so good: whilst I wouldn’t go so far as to say that the room was dirty, it could have been cleaner. It was lots of small things – the mirror was dusty, the windows had fingerprints on them, the carpet was a little grubby, there was dust in the corners, and the bathroom smelt of sewage. Of the four pillows provided two were feather (great), but two were a weird bean bag type which we didn’t really like – when we asked to substitute those for feather we were initially told that the hotel only had one type of pillow, which didn’t make sense, but the next day we had more success with a different member of staff. The rooms didn’t include an air purifier / humidifier as standard – we asked for one and the first one we were given leaked water everywhere and made a lot of mess. Then finally while there was an electric kettle in the room there were no ceramic cups, tea and coffee, or even drinking glasses. There were some weird plastic beakers which I don’t think would really have been intended to be used with hot water, and some dirty plastic cups in the bathroom. We initially thought that housekeeping had just forgotten to put tea and coffee in the room but when we asked at reception we were told it wasn’t included and the only option was to use the café. So we asked for some drinking glasses for water which after much deliberation and being sent back and forth between reception and the café (who initially refused) we eventually got some from the café and hung on to for our entire stay (5 nights – we had to wash them ourselves). Finally the room was only cleaned every other day, while this wasn’t a huge deal it would have been nice to at least have had the bed made each day. Lots of small perhaps seemingly pedantic details but they all added up. We'd have been willing to pay slightly more per night to have some of the above basic issues addressed.

I went to concierge to seek help for booking a restaurant. This lady (A) was quite friendly although she barely spoke English. While she's helping calling the restaurant, there was another female staff (B) who kept talking to A in Japanese (therefore I didn't know what they were talking about) which I felt quite annoying as B was bother A while A was helping me. Then after their long conversation, B spoke to me that they were not supposed to help guest to book restaurant but since A has already been helping me so A would help me this time as an exceptional case. I would say this is not a very cheap hotel therefore I don't expect they won't book restaurant for their hotel guests. Also be reminded that this hotel doesn't provide daily housekeeping service so if you are staying only 2 nights, be prepared that no one cleans up your room during your stay.

I found the Sequence Miyashita Park Hotel online when booking for Tokyo as we wanted to stay in Shibuya when arriving to Tokyo.

The hotel is in a great area and was easy to check in to (it is self check in but they also have staff there to assist which was great. You are right next to Miyashita Park which features pop up displays (we saw an iconic bag form Louis Vuitton) it also has a skate park a climbing wall and a beach volley ball court.

The room wasn't huge (which is common in the City of Tokyo) There is not a lot of room with two travelers and their bags.

But the room was substantial enough to enjoy our stay. The room was neat and clean and offered the most stunning views of the city.

The bathroom was great and toilet what you would come to expect from Japan (Luxury)

The hotel had some great common areas and some excellent food choices within the hotel and around it. It also had some cute shops near by. The cafe and lounge is a real hub for not just hotel guests and offers great coffee and bites to eat. The restaurant offers a really great breakfast and dinner if needed. On the top floor you also have a really slick cool bar where you can get a nice cocktail before exploring more of the city.

It is a very cool area to stay and you are so close to Shibuya station to then get around the rest of the City or beyond.

All in all I would stay here again as it was comfortable, convenient and a great price.

My friend and I wanted to relax after having lunch, so we decided to go to Miyashita Park. It's a public park area on the rooftop of the city center where you can sit in the green space to relax and enjoy a coffee at Starbucks.
We ordered the new banana drink at Starbucks, and I really loved it. There's also a cafe that sells Acai bowls that I really wanted to try.

Our corner room had beautiful big windows looking out to Tokyo - it was an all day view! We were adjacent to the JR line which had some noise, but then the city streets were also noisy. I think a park-view room would fix that.
Comfy bed and a great location in walking distance to Shibuya and Harajuku

Beautifully modern hotel in perfect location to Shibuya Scramble crossing. Hotel staff spoke english. The room was small, but modern and the city views were amazing. There is a small cafe and seating area in lobby which was used by many. The hotel is located adjacent to a shopping mall, with eateries and high end stores, although the heart of Shibuya is just a few steps away!! Definitely recommend for location, although it was pricey.

I really did not like this hotel. It is well located but so noisy because it’s above the train track.

They also have no bedding suitable for allergy sufferers.

I found the staff unhelpful and I did not feel welcome.

If you are a heavy sleeper and want a no friends place it’s fine but it doesn’t feel very special for a vacation

Its hard to gauge and rate a hotel during the pandemic as there are inevitable issues related to staff shortage. All in all its a pretty good hotel in a prime location with great view but conceptually from lobby to the rooms you get a sense of a hotel identity trying to be hip with out actually nailing the vibe.
