Plastic flooring!

We paid for a Suite - the highest rated room they have. We were on the 18th floor in January. The room was way too hot but could not be altered. The toilet kept breaking. The bed was wedged next to the bathroom. The shower water leaked all over the floor. Nowhere to put your toiletries. The towels are thin and the furniture is stained. But the best part.... the flooring is plastic - plastic fake curly "carpet" - which hurts your feet to walk on and cannot be cleaned. Delightful!! Plus, the hotel is located near a hospital so there are ambulance sirens ALL night. Suite located at elevator, so you also heard other Guests. And this is the best room they had !!!

The hotel isn't near any of the tourist sites but ok for business. The rooms were nice but hotel facilities severely limited. One overpriced restaurant which was always empty and the bar consisted of a few bar stools next to the restaurant. Not a great atmosphere. The breakfast was ok but not great. I would stay somewhere else next time

We informed the hotel, before we arrived, that we would be arriving late into the evening. We were travelling as a family of 4. Unfortunately when we arrived, the beds were not made up for the children, so it took another 40 mins to resolve these issues. There was no bedding for the additional bed and the sofa bed could not be pulled out (maintenance had to be called to support). I provided my details and asked for a call or email from the manager the following morning, nothing arrived.
We also went out for the day the following day, my son left his pyjama shorts on the sofa bed, when we came back the rooms had been made up and his pyjamas were missing. I can only assume they were caught up in the laundry. When I raised this, no one came back to me and I had to go to reception several times to check. I do not have the assurance that staff were bothered or even checked throughly before we left.
The hotel seems to be geared for business personnel, rather than families. That being said the rooms were nice, although the shower did keep flooding the bathroom. The wifi was also quite intermittent.

I held a successful conference and exhibition at the Melia Sarrià. The event staff are lovely and ensured our meeting was a complete success. Thank you Sofia!

The meeting spaces are all modern and nice to spend time in.

The hotel itself is a tall tower in the heart of Barcelona, it’s a little dated in places, like for example the hallways to the rooms and parts of the lobby.

Bedrooms are recently refreshed but a little compact in their standard form, but do offer value for money if you are a business traveller. I was lucky enough to also enjoy a family room which is nice, and also on my second stay a junior suite which was also excellent.

Food wise, it has a fine pizza restaurant, and the breakfast/lunch venue does a good buffet.

I would be happy to return to this hotel if I was ever visiting Barcelona again on business.

Tremendous disappointment. Upon returning home, I will ask Costco Travel to remove Melia Hotels from its recommended package programs, This is our second day here and our disappointment is topped only by the front desk's apathy. Hotels should not advertise WiFi if they cannot deliver a workable service. Guests should be able to access hi-speed Internet without interruption. This has been a nightmare, despite informing the front desk this morning. The response was "Too many guests today."

The first class restaurant in the lobby has turned into a 3rd class cafeteria on the second floor due to long-term renovations. No coffee maker in the rooms, or space for any belongings, etc., etc., etc. I cannot go on with the list. Please do your homework before booking with Melia Barcelona.

Room tip: If you need to use electronic devices, do not book a stay here.

First of all we would like to express our most sincere gratitude and appreciation for the time you have taken to send us your feedback.

We are really sorry for the inconveniences you mentioned. This is not the type of feedback that we like to receive but we do take it in a constructive way and as an opportunity to achieve the constant improvement, guest satisfaction and quality service that we strive for.

Our main goal is to take care of our guests with great affection and with deep gratitude for their loyalty and trust and there is nothing more rewarding than knowing that this affection and gratitude is appreciated. The numerous comments we constantly receive congratulating our entire team, is proof of this.

We have checked our WiFi with our technicians and supplier and they have not detected any incident. All our rooms are provided with Kettle, the superior rooms with Kettle and Coffee Maker but in case you would have needed a Coffee Maker we would have been very pleased to provide it to you.

Please let me to inform you that our Restaurant is relocated on the first floor not for long-term renovations but due to a 4-day remodeling. We are always in a constant improvement process and we take pride in the hotel´s appearance. We want our property even more attractive to visitors like yourself.

We stayed for three days in wonderful Barcelona. One of the main reasons the trip was as good as it was, was because of the staff at Melia Barcelona Sarria!! Room was spacious and the breakfast buffet was great!!
