More of a 3-star, than a 5-star hotel in terms of room size and amenities, but the staff was very amenable to requests. The lounge served good food and drinks and service was excellent. The breakfast buffet was quite nice. The hotel was too far out of range for our planned walking tours, so we had to take a taxi to Plaza de Catalunya for a bus tour.

My daughter and I recently visited Barcelona and stayed 3 nights at the Melia Sarria. I've been very fortunate to stay at many nice hotels over the years and this hotel is up there with the best of them. If I listed all the wonderful things the staff did to enhance our stay I'd have to write an essay, so in short I'll simply say they were fabulous! They were all so helpful, friendly and couldn't do enough to make our stay perfect. The spa was relaxing, the food/breakfast spreads were amazing and our room was spotless! A special thank you to the Level Team who were absolutely fantastic and they even surprised my daughter with a birthday cake and balloon flowers. Best Lounge team ever! Also a big thanks to Daniel for kindly and patiently giving us a tour of each view before we selected our room.
I highly recommend this hotel for any type of stay in Barcelona.
p.s. the chef makes a great omelette on request at breakfast if you have any room left after the fresh strawberry doughnuts!

My husband and I stayed here for three nights. Location is grand, not far from public transport links and in a quieter part of town. You do have to walk to get to things, but that is Barcelona!! We were given the option on check in, as we had a room only booking, of either upgrading to 'The Level' or getting breakfast as an add on. Now I had checked lots of places to see what this level was and couldn't find information anywhere so here is what it is. Basically, if you pay an addition €49 per night (that was for 2 of us but I am not sure if it is per room or per person), you get an upgraded room, or rather the same room on a higher floor, breakfast on all days, access to the spa area - the steam room, sauna, small swimming area and lounges, and also access to The Level lounge. In the Level lounge you can have unlimited tea/coffee, beer, and snacks like cheese, cold meets and some pastries throughout the day. You also have free access to printing facilities and the option of a free late check out. If we didn't want to do The Level upgrade, breakfast was something like €15 each per day anyway so we decided we would do it. It worked out for us. I had also booked a spa treatment, an aromatherapy massage for 75mins for €100 and got a 20% discount because we were in the level. Our room was lovely, on the 21st floor so street noise was not an issue. It was clean and very comfy bed. Only flaws would be the shower tended to leak all over the bathroom when we used it and the cleaner started vacuuming the adjoining room at 6.30am on our last day which was very annoying. Breakfast is huge with tonnes of variety. The hotel also seems to be big with conferences, so I would definitely recommend a higher floor room as the restaurant, bar and general reception area can be very loud.
