A historical fountain located at Marienplatz, heart of Munich. Its history goes back to middle ages but its present form is created in 1950s. It is not something big for a tourist but nice to see if you visit Munich.

Take a moment to enjoy this fountain in front of the neues Rathaus during your visit to Marienplatz. The water is beautiful and you can appreciate the craftsmanship that was used to rebuild this fountain after being destroyed in World War II.

The current fish fountain in front of the New Town Hall was completed in 1954. The previous fountain was destroyed during World War II.
The fountain consists of a turquoise-colored basin, which makes the water shine so brightly. Three bronze boys stand around the central column, pouring water into the basin from their buckets.
A bronze fish sits on top of the column. It commemorates the time when Marienplatz was home to a fish market, among other things.

This is a cute fountain in the main plaza area. It has a big fish on the top of it. I wouldn’t go out of your way to visit, but if you are in the area stop by.

The area this is in is just spectacular so take in all the sights, including this cute fountain while you're there. So many shops and street performers

This is a nice statue which is worth having a look at when you are in the main square. It is just in front of the town hall building.

The fountain is located in front of the New Town Hall on Marienplatz and was built in the middle ages. There sculpture included a fish on top and some people below.

The fountain is located in Marienplatz close to the information center. It can be easy to miss if it's really busy.
The fountain does look quite interesting with people holding buckets around the side and a single fish on the top of the fountain. The buckets all have water trickling from them. The sides of the fountain has carvings on it. It was an interesting looking fountain.

this fountain is located in marienplatz square. it is a fish fountain to tell the people that before the war it was a market selling fish. this fountain replaced the earlier fountain which was destroyed in the war.
