The food was great, and the waiter was very friendly and attentive, even though we clearly didn't speak German. I'd love to go back. I had Spaetzle with goulash, my wife had cheese Spaetzle with fried onions and salad, plus one mixed drink, water, a soft drink, and dessert, and it only came to 85 euro, less than half what we spent at another restaurant in town last night where the food wasn't as good. Nice outdoor dining options too.

Came here on a saturday for lunch and were lucky to have reserved a table outside beforehand.
Service was friendly and extremly attentive. The second you emptied your glass, they were there to offer a new one.
I had the cheese and spinach dumplings and LOVED them, they were so good!
My boyfriend hat the Schnitzel with panfried potatoes. The latter were a little on the pale side. The Schnitzel was a little tough with the breading falling off.
Overall we did enjoy our lunch there and would definitely come back.

Cute little sidewalk café where we had a wonderful lunch. My grilled veggie couscous salad was outstanding, so much flavor! My husband also enjoyed his pork meatloaf with horseradish potato salad.

Very disappointing! First, we waited for 15 minutes to order while the server took care of every table around us and ignored us. Then we were served food that was actually for the table that ordered after us. Then we were told it was a computer error and continued to sit for over an hour drinking all the wine that was to pair with our meal. The meal finally came with no apology, after watching everyone in the restaurant being served before us. If this is how Americans are treated I would go somewhere else! We love Munich and had many other choices for our one night here. What a disappointment!

There was nothing wrong with the food, but the service was really poor. The staff seemed more concerned about having their cigarette breaks than giving us service. We were hoping to have a dessert, but nobody came to our table. In the end we just asked for the bill and left.

Lovely meal near the market and Marienplatz. We had the ginger carrot soup and the goulash. Great food and service. We were able to eat outside as well.

Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent & there was a specials board too which was explained to us on arrival.
Best to book in advance if you are able.
We had a lovely evening and absolutely no complaints at all.

Fantastic dinner after a long day walks. The service was fast and the food very tasty. Also that night was some live music which made the evening even better.

Very very rude staff! We walked into this little cosy bar/restaurant for a drink at around 7.30pm.... I waited at the bar for about 15 mins (no one else waiting) whilst the very grumpy and rude bar lady made drinks and delivered them to tables not even making eye contact with me. So I assumed it was table service only.
There was a little table in the corner free so we sat down and waited..... and waited.... and she came over eventually, we asked if we could just have a drink and ordered a pint of beer and a glass of wine.
In the meantime a male member of staff came over to take our order and we explained we’d ordered our drinks and he barked “reserved” at us and told us we would have to stand at the bar.
The table was not reserved, there was no sign on it but he clearly didn’t want to serve just a drink. We had been in here for around 20 minutes at the point... so we started to gather our stuff up to move and the lady bought our drinks to the table..... she clearly didn’t think the table was reserved either!!!!
We walked back to the bar and there was no room to stand so we walked out!
I wouldn’t enter this place again and do not appreciate being spoken to or treated in that way. They don’t deserve custom!!!

We came here to try meatball and it didn’t disappoint us. However, no one serve us when we walked in and they don’t even bother to look at us. Overall, I would rate it as average as no one want to be treated badly while travelling.

Not only is the design of the restaurant done with acute attention to detail (go to the toilets - trust me, you‘ll be glad you went for a look), but the entire menu is fantastic too.
The cuisine is a modern take on what can only be described as a classic German meatball, but made with very interesting ingredients - I highly recommend the roast chicken meatball-really, for those wanting something vegetarian, the carrot and Parmesan dishes.
Unless you can sit outside, it’s better suited to families with older children (3+) due to the tall chairs and tables, but it’s a really nice location for couples on a date or even small groups on business.
This is one of our favourite spots in town.

My husband and I stumbled upon Zwickl as we were exploring the Munich open market area.
The waiter outside was helpful so we decided to dine at the establishment. I ordered roast pork, which came as a huge piece of meat with crackling and cabbage, while my husband selected a salad with chicken breast. While it was a light option, it too was super sized.
The waiter was knowledgeable about the wine list and made good suggestions.

Forgot to write a review but this place was so good we decided to go back a second time during our stay. The second time the service was not as great as I believe the owner was helping us on our first visit. Meatballs and the mustard were standouts!
