I’m not someone who gushes about experiences- especially yours. However, this tour and our tour guide, Tyler were amazing. Likely it is Tyler that truly made this experience better. He had insights, history and funny stories to tell along the way. He expertly guided and large group of cyclists on a lovely ride to a lake for a swim. You can get to the castle in many ways- but they won’t all include a great bike ride, an amazing lunch and a guide who took the extra steps to ensure you have an amazing day.

Tyler was a great guide. We learned a lot about the castle, Munich and surrounding area. We did not feel rushed but also were not waiting around for long periods of time between activities. The bike ride was easy and mostly flat.

This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Bavaria! Tyler was a great guide! We loved biking around swan lake , touring the beautiful castle, and learning all about Ludwig! Very easy, flat bike ride. The wildflowers were in full bloom at the end of May.

This was our second of three tours with Mikes Bikes tours. Visiting Neuschwanstein Castle was like stepping into a fairytale. The majestic architecture against the backdrop of the Bavarian Alps left our family in awe. Exploring the interior was a journey through history and fantasy. Before the beautiful hike to the castle, we had a lake bike ride that offered a serene escape into nature. The crystal-clear waters mirrored the sky, creating a tranquil atmosphere. Cycling along the picturesque paths, surrounded by lush greenery, was blissful. It was a perfect balance of cultural immersion and outdoor adventure. Neuschwanstein and the bike ride around the lake created memories that will last a lifetime. Our tour guide, Tyler, kept us on schedule and provided in-depth history during the bus ride, bike ride, and up to the castle, preparing us for what would be an amazing adventure. He provided many tips and tricks to maximize our castle tour and made this excursion memorable.
We highly recommend this tour offered by Mike Bike Tours.

We highly recommend this tour. We selected to tour the Hohenschwangau Castle instead of doing the bike ride, and were very happy with our choice. Our tour guide while on the bus and hiking up to Neuschwanstein was Tyler and we really enjoyed his historical knowledge. He kept the group together and organized, which was nice since we packed a lot into one day! The scenery out the bus window was beautiful.

I can’t imagine a better way to see the castle. Our guide Tyler gave us information not included in the state tour and it enriched the experience significantly. We got to enjoy a bike ride to take in the gorgeous landscape and even a lake visit with a surprise opportunity to swim! Our assistant guide Karina was warm and hospitable. Assistant guide Nassar was at the ready to keep us safe from crossroad traffic and protect us from potentially swans :) All our guides were multinational/multicultural and the information they shared really enriched our amazing experience. Don’t miss this tour!

Our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle with Tyler was awesome! Tyler was able to provide so much history and the bike tour around the castle was beautiful. We got lucky with a small group of 7 and Tyler took us to extra / different spots we wouldn’t normally be able to do with a larger group. I cannot wait to recommend this tour to friends who are traveling to Germany later this year.

A co-worker of mine recommended Mike’s Bike Tours and my husband and I couldn’t have asked for a better tour. We met at the shop early (very easy to find) and walked briefly to our transportation to neuschwanstein castle. To my surprise, our guide Tyler gave some history and facts about Munich as we left the city and headed towards the highway which was a nice bonus. He also gave facts as we got closer to the castle. While on the van we were able to pay (in cash/euros) if we opted to take the castle tour. Our guide also provided the lunch menu and took our orders. This was great because when it was time for lunch at the restaurant, the food came quite fast. The food was good and affordable. We got lucky with a picture perfect day and a smaller group which meant a little extra time to bike around and take in the beautiful scenery. The hike up to the castle is pretty tough but it’s nice that there is an option to take a bus for a small fee if you opt out of the hike. Tyler did a great job making sure there was no wasted time. If we got done seeing Mary’s Bridge (Marienbrucke) early he quickly told us what other places we could walk to for great picture spots and sightseeing. The tour inside the castle is pretty brief and done by another party, it was nothing amazing. My husband and I agreed that the tour and hiking done on the outside was the highlight. It was a super long day but felt worth it and the other guides with us were also great and made for an awesome experience. 10/10 recommend.

In 2014 I previously went on this trip but actually couldn’t remember much about it … don’t think it left much of an impression. However, this trip this time was excellent & even cycled it with an AC joint injury to boot!
Trip was smooth in the bus and Tyler, the guide, was extremely knowledgeable not only about the Castle but also the history of Munich as well.
Tyler and his team catered to our every need and made sure we were well fed and hydrated … and this time with snow on the Bavarian Alps, furniture in the Castle and snowball “fights” en route to the Elisabeth Bridge … I will definitely remember this trip with a smile on my face and pure enjoyment in my heart!
Thank you team - you guys rocked our group ;-)
