Massive collection of arts and historical artefacts. Phenomenal rooms. Definitely worth a visit. We purchased the combination ticket that grants access to both the museum and treasury rooms. The place is massive! Allow 1-2 hours for this visit. The tour also comes with a free audio guide.

If you are really into motor vehicles, can't really go wrong here. I am not so much into them, but still the history and variety was interesting. A bit too much for me overall, but could still walk through quite fine.

They also have the Elvis 507 BTW convertible. Elvis was cool, and seeing his car is cool. Dont we all wish we were cool someday. Well, they have many things of course, but for a random visitor Elvis is something to relate isnt' it :)

If you just want to see a bit of BTW you can also just visit the latest showroom with BMW Welt across the street. Nice and more modern ones there. Found it easier to relate to for a regular person. And that one is free too. But this museum is fine tour as well.

It was a small but beautiful church, unfortunately partially under construction, but what we could see was worth the short visit.

Heading to Oktoberfest, here are 25 tips that will help!

    1. Train is the mode of transportation, period, there really are no options for parking because the area is blocked off.

    2. Find out where you are, the location of the train station, and where to get off. My hotel gave exact directions, follow the crowd.

    3. If you want to avoid the biggest crowds, go midweek early in the day about 12, it was busy but not as jam packed.

    4. There is no getting lost, follow the crowd inside and remember entrance is FREE!

    5. They do have a security check to make sure you have no weapons or sharp objects in your bag, just open up and be polite!

    6. Eat everything you can, especially the fried (rotisserie) chicken (organic or non organic, this caused a controversy) with potato salad.

    6. Have some brats!

    7. The pretzels will taste a bit different, no they are not stale.

    8. A stein holds about 4 single beers, remember that while drinking!

    9. You can dance on the benches, dancing on tables will get you thrown out!

    10. The bathrooms are really clean everywhere, leave a euro or two for the attendants keeping them clean!

    11. No beer drinking outside beer tents!

    12. Try the candied almonds and you better get some ice cream!

    13. Grab one of the raspberry filled pastries that ladies are walking around selling, they were delicious!

    14. Protect your valuables.

    15. Ladies if you get drunk they have a special tent for you!

    16. Return your glass bottle back to where you bought it, they will give you a euro. Or give it to those collecting bottles outside the festival, do not throw them in the trash!

    17. They do have after parties and clubs nearby, you will see posters, attend if interested!

    18. Wheelchairs and walkers are easily navigated, plan to go when crowds are lower if needed.

    19. Yes! This is a family affair, they have rides, roller coasters, and lots of other child friendly activities, bring those kiddies!

    20. Traffic will be a monster when you leave, don’t try to get an Uber, take the train back to where you started!

    21. You will walk about 15-20 thousand steps or more, comfortable shoes are essential!

    22. The weather was very nice, a t- shirt is perfect especially during mid-day.

    23. Plan to have some cash, many vendors don’t accept cards, especially American Express or Discover, you will see many ATM machines.

    24. Most people speak a bit of several other languages, but if they don’t brush up on your German and use your google translate!

    25. Have a ball and enjoy the experience, there is nothing like it!

Hope these tips are helpful if you plan to attend Oktoberfest in the future, enjoy!

Great experience for football enthusiasts! Interesting museum included too! Do not take backpacks as they do not allow them!

It is a nice museum, but it is the usual pastoral art. There are numerous museums around this location from you to choose from. Security is very tight- no liquids, no bass larger than a very small bag- so they offer lockers at 3 euros. The museum is not crowded and provides areas to sit and look at the art.

After my last visits (and review) from 2 years ago, I'm happy to report that they have made *huge* strides in re-opening many of the departments. And did a great job to boot!

Some favourites are still under construction - physics, mines, ships among them - but a large number of the others are all open and modernised. Aviation especially has seen a wonderful overhaul!

Possibly because of some areas still under closure, you may find yourself backtracking, rather than following a circuit, but it's not a big deal.

One thing I did *not* care for: the new restaurant. Yes, the old one had all the charm of a corporate canteen (and you would see employees eating there), but it offered good Bavarian fair. Now they went more of a "gastropub" style with, when I visited, a very limited menu.

We walked over after visiting the BMW Museum. and were immediately awed by the stunning design, both inside and out. There is no fee to enter. Inside, it’s like a huge ultra-high end car dealership with impressive displays of BMW’s lines of cars. There is a nice restaurant and cafe. We spent about 30 minutes walking around, which was enough for us. Definitely worth stopping in to see.

Fun climb to the top. Might be tough for those afraid of heights or claustrophobic as the stairs get tight in some spots but there are places to stop and rest at the start and at the very top there are benches. Our kids flew up the stairs without a problem.

The views are great especially if you time it with the glockenspiel showings at 11, 12, or 5 at marianolatz.

This is a marvelous museum that is small enough to enjoy within an hour. Walking distance to many of the other museums and sites . Perfect example of art from 1850-1940s. Blue Rider art movement is big here.

Excellent museum about the rise of the Nazis. The captions were in English and German. The end of the exhibit has information about modern ongoing extremist threats, but 3/4 floors are about the rise of the Nazis and a bit about post war. The museum is free and well presented. They also have historical video footage throughout that was very interesting. Outside of the museum there are some benches and a little stand selling coffee.

This is a perfect place to see a performance. The acoustics are wonderful and the sound fills the auditorium perfectly. The orchestra is among the finest in the world. We sat on the side in one of the balconies and we could see and hear everything just fine. There are supertitles projected above the stage: on the left in German and on the right in English. If you sit in a space in which the supertitles are not visible, they have screens dangling from the bottom of balconies--however those are only in German. Although the website says that you should come as you are to the opera and be comfortable--this was a dress up crowd.

Excellent guided tour of the museum. We spent an hour walking around by ourselves before the tour began. The tour brought everything to life, our guide was enthusiastic about the subject and this helped to bring things to life. The highlight for me was seeing Elvis' BMW which had been loving restored.
