Heading to Oktoberfest, here are 25 tips that will help!

    1. Train is the mode of transportation, period, there really are no options for parking because the area is blocked off.

    2. Find out where you are, the location of the train station, and where to get off. My hotel gave exact directions, follow the crowd.

    3. If you want to avoid the biggest crowds, go midweek early in the day about 12, it was busy but not as jam packed.

    4. There is no getting lost, follow the crowd inside and remember entrance is FREE!

    5. They do have a security check to make sure you have no weapons or sharp objects in your bag, just open up and be polite!

    6. Eat everything you can, especially the fried (rotisserie) chicken (organic or non organic, this caused a controversy) with potato salad.

    6. Have some brats!

    7. The pretzels will taste a bit different, no they are not stale.

    8. A stein holds about 4 single beers, remember that while drinking!

    9. You can dance on the benches, dancing on tables will get you thrown out!

    10. The bathrooms are really clean everywhere, leave a euro or two for the attendants keeping them clean!

    11. No beer drinking outside beer tents!

    12. Try the candied almonds and you better get some ice cream!

    13. Grab one of the raspberry filled pastries that ladies are walking around selling, they were delicious!

    14. Protect your valuables.

    15. Ladies if you get drunk they have a special tent for you!

    16. Return your glass bottle back to where you bought it, they will give you a euro. Or give it to those collecting bottles outside the festival, do not throw them in the trash!

    17. They do have after parties and clubs nearby, you will see posters, attend if interested!

    18. Wheelchairs and walkers are easily navigated, plan to go when crowds are lower if needed.

    19. Yes! This is a family affair, they have rides, roller coasters, and lots of other child friendly activities, bring those kiddies!

    20. Traffic will be a monster when you leave, don’t try to get an Uber, take the train back to where you started!

    21. You will walk about 15-20 thousand steps or more, comfortable shoes are essential!

    22. The weather was very nice, a t- shirt is perfect especially during mid-day.

    23. Plan to have some cash, many vendors don’t accept cards, especially American Express or Discover, you will see many ATM machines.

    24. Most people speak a bit of several other languages, but if they don’t brush up on your German and use your google translate!

    25. Have a ball and enjoy the experience, there is nothing like it!

Hope these tips are helpful if you plan to attend Oktoberfest in the future, enjoy!

We stopped here to watch the surfers for a few minutes during a stroll through the English Garden. It was fun to watch. As we approached the area, it was unusual to see some people wearing wetsuits and carrying surfboards through the streets of Munich, but this unique location to watch surfing is part of its appeal. The surrounding park is also a nice place for a relaxing stroll.

Escape Game Munich was an amazing experience. We have up to this point visited only one of the many themed rooms they offer but are all the more excited to check out the rest. Can not recommend enough, be it going with friends, family, colleagues and so forth.

It's great. The people there are professional and friendly.
They even got out of their way to let "Duckie" fly with me, this needed an extra fixation.
    I can only recommend!

I’ve now visited twice, once with my parents in May 2019 and once with my brother and his girlfriend in July 2019 - I can’t recommend this place enough! I’ve played both missions now (message in a bottle and Alien Invasion) and both are available in perfect English. Alien invasion was definitely my favourite, but both missions have certain aspects that will make you go ‘WOW!’ Great for all ages, very fun and will definitely put your mind and teamwork skills to the test! Thanks Andreas for making both experiences so great!

We really enjoyed a lot, even though we were not not able to have this event in English as initially planned, they were able to suggest German and Russian, so it was not a problem after all.
It was much more difficult than we expected, we had a lot of fun and definitly going to be back for other escape rooms!
Thank you for the guy instructor, I don't know the name, he did great and was really friendly

We did the duel mode ‘Die Flucht aus der Anstalt’. We split into two groups of 3 and completed 2 rooms in 30 minutes. It was super fun and great experience (yet challenging) that we would recommend to every group of people spending some time in Munich!

    Great experience!
We played the central bank story and it was a lot of fun! If you don't speak German it's not an issue - they stuff explained everything to us in English and the game is available in German and in English. I'd go again if I've the opportunity.

To start off: I am a huge fan of Cirque du Soleil. However, growing up in Germany I used to go to the circus (a long time ago), and in a recent visit to München I thought, why not. Maybe such old style circus won’t be around much longer and I heard Krone takes animal welfare seriously. I also read somewhere they won’t be getting any new animals so someone has to pay to take care of the ones they still have.

I found the entire pre-show activities lacking. No clowning around while people get seated and a very somber “welcome to Circus Krone”. I thought I was at a funeral, not a Circus Matinee.

I call it a living circus museum, and one should see it for that, rather than expecting true world class choreography, stage sets (Krone has none), let alone original music and a story line.

So, to me this was my final farewell to the circus of yesteryear, and I left with a sense of sad nostalgia but also a sense of pride knowing that I have been such a fan of new age circus acts from Cirque du Soleil.

Krone belongs to the relics of the 20th century along with marine animal the parks, shiny disco suits and the slide rule.

To the Ringmaster: at least build some anticipation instead of inviting people to join your sorrow about days gone by.

We booked the Alice in Wonderland and had so much fun! After we finished we had the chance to do another room (Weltreise) quite spontaneously. Both rooms are so much fun, the team gives you just enough advice during your 60 minutes in the room that you will definitely make it but still will feel that you accomplished it by yourself. Very well thought through! Would definitely recommend!

I recommend parallel skiing for anyone who wants to learn skiing quickly. The course takes place usually in Austria (St.Johann). Professional and Friendly instructors teach ski lessons for two full days over the weekend. One learns faster due to the amazing short skiing technique where you start with small skis like 70cm. I was able to Ski red runs in three weekends. Some in the course were able to ski black runs also. School also provides skis n shoes at no extra cost. We stay in an Austrian village with all instructors and other skiers over weekend. There are also videos recorded during skiing and instructors analyse them in the evening to provide valuable feedback that helps to correct mistakes.
