The optometrist was ok but staff service was very poor and unhelpful. I would not go back and would not recommend.

Had a great experience with my eye exam at this place; the optometrist took her time and made sure I was comfortable.
Afterwards, service was excellent and my glasses were ready in just a few days!
Will definitely go back.

I always struggle finding glasses that fit my narrow face. It seems there are not many choices that will fit me and even when I ask for help at shops, I don't find them very helpful and if I don't like the one or two items they choose for me they quickly lose interest in helping me.
Through word of mouth I heard Bar a lunettes would really help me so on a visit to Montreal we made time to find the shop. It was a little startling to walk and in see all the frames are hidden (put away). I sat at the bar and told the employee a little about myself, my struggles with finding frames to fit my face and that when I look at my eyeglass history, most of them are boring and brown. I can be a bit shy and I was looking to break out of my boring brown glasses and really stretch myself. The man brought over several pairs of glasses, showing them to me one at a time. I picked out three pair, not even realizing at first all three were the same frame just in radically different colors. I narrowed it down to two pair and really couldn't decide. He explained which one he would choose and why and I went with it!
Since we were leaving Montreal the next day, I purchased the frames and ordered my lenses from my hometown shop. I have been wearing glasses for over 40 years and I bet I have gotten more compliments on these glasses than I have for all my glasses combined. I have strangers stop me and comment on them! When it is time to buy a new pair of frames, I will head back to Bar a lunettes!!

I just had the best glasses/eye exam/finished product experience - ever.
Not only was the staff super welcoming, but I was also worried that my glasses would not be ready before my vacation, and they delivered - far earlier than expected!
The shop is streamlined and attractive.

We stumbled upon this place on our second day in the city and because I need a new pair of frames, we decided to take the time to explore. Unlike other optometrists, they ask you what you want and like, and then they bring a selection of interesting options for you to consider while you sit at the bar and relax.
I definitely tried on some frames that I would never have looked at otherwise, and this was the pleasure and the revelation. The best frames for my face were not ones I would have thought of to try, but they looked better than anything I've ever found on my own.
Kevin was a patient, helpful and very warm assistant during this process and I realized that I much prefer this way of shopping. Highly recommended for their unique, creative collection of frames by European designers that aren't otherwise easy to find. If you want your own look, and something out of the ordinary, go here.

Starved for a decent selection of eyewear, we were like kids in a candy store! Karine was a wonderful guide through the near overwhelming selection of glasses and helped us find a half-dozen of spectacular choices for each of us. We wanted them all, but finally narrowed our selection to 2 each. Bland, boring frames no more!

This is the best place to stop and shop for your new look, the optometrists there are professionnals with specific training in morphology so you do not chose the glasses they do to fit your face!
you just sit there at the bar and enjoy....the only problem is that they have a superb choice of designer eyeware and you end up having to choose between 2 to 4 pairs at the end of the processus....not easy....i ended up buying 1, then came back for no 2 and then again pair no 3....they are great! Enjoy!
