The majority of the tour was on the bus, but there were three opportunities to get off for picture taking and shopping. Our guide Jean Phillipe was wonderful. He's a native to Montreal and has a lot of knowledge about the city. Fortunately for us the entire bus opted for all English language, so there was no rushing through the tour information due to dual language needs. But if necessary, he would have done the speaking in French and English. We saw many great sites and it gave us the opportunity to spend the second day doing a more detail look at a few things on our own. I would recommend this tour. The bus was comfortable and not too long, but the morning time at 9am I think would be better then you have time in the afternoon to do other things. IF you might want to buy anything at the market place stop, please bring a shopping bag with you. The market has a lovely produce area, dry goods (for maple syrup!) and a lovely boulangerie!
