The squid starter was very good, the main pork cheek also very good, the ravioli also good, however we could barely hear what were the specials as the acoustics were so bad that we couldn't hear the day's offerings. The issue of an industrial settings I guess. We needed to shout to each other for a regular conversation.

A somewhat 'hidden' restaurant in an out-of-the-way alley that will get you away from the tourists. Once you find it, the atmosphere is chic yet welcoming. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the menu offered a variety of plates we would have liked to have tried. We had a bottle of wine, starters, entrees, and dessert. All that we ordered was good.
The surroundings, music, service, food; everything made for a lovely evening. I would recommend Le Serpent to anyone looking for a nice dinner in Montreal.

Not your typical Italian restaurant. Very modern and minimalistic space in old Montreal. Brought my father who was born in Italy and he was quite surprised by the dishes based on their description on the menu. With that being said everything was excellent using high-quality ingredients, friendly service and interesting take and creations. Great wine menu as well would definitely return and recommend.

Having read other reviews we had high expectations of Le Serpent. A trendy industrial style restaurant. Service was very good and we really enjoyed the foie gras and quail to start but the bucatini main left us rather disappointed. Nice flavour but when it’s described as having pork flank confit we expected to have some meat but were told this flavoured the sauce. We enjoyed the evening but felt let down by our mains.

My wife and I dined at Le Serpent in late June and it was a very interesting experience.
The restaurant is housed in an old warehouse come office building and it is very cutting edge.
The tables are generously spread out albeit a tad small if you order multiple starters.
The menu is very limited but the food offered is excellent.
The staff are very attentive and knowledgeable and offer up suggestions constantly.
The wine list is very impressive and you can find just about anything your heart desires.
Be adventurous when it comes to ordering your meal and you won’t be disappointed.

This place was recommended by a server while out for dinner. He mentioned several interesting restaurants for us to to try the next night and we are glad we chose this one.
Definitely out of the way, in a location you wouldn't think to look so, use your GPS.
Interesting, concrete/warehouse type decor which, although very cool, means for a very noisy ambiance for dining
Don't let that throw you off....the food is innovative and delicious.
I had the cod in a creamy sauce served over a rutabaga puree with leeks and bacon.
My husband had the special which was slow roasted lamb shoulder in a tomato garlic sauce. Both were delicious! Pistachio tiramisu arrived for dessert.
Service was prompt, and attentive even though it was a busy weeknight.
My only complaint would be the noise lever...the concrete building but also, loud thumping music which could have been softened, changed or avoided altogether
Check this place out...the food is worth it!.

We ordered 2 special appetizers…the scallop with sweetbreads on top of polenta was amazing. The duck dish on the menu was well prepared and delicious. The bucatini was a bit spicy and not as good as I expected. Service, food and wine list is top notch!

Appetizers are better than the main dishes. I was in shock that the Bronzino fish(special) was $100! It was made to share but it was our least favorite thing on the menu and def not worth the price. Funky atmosphere that is different. Cocktails are creative and wine was good.

We booked this restaurant online and arrived to find our table ready for us. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The menu was quite varied and we really enjoyed eating here. The pasta was exceptional and some of the best we’ve ever eaten. Highly recommended!

As always Michele Mercuri’s cuisine does not disappoint. We remember Hotel Le St James XO restaurant that Mercuri opened in 2009 and it’s rating as best new restaurant in Canada by En Route Air Canada Magazine. It only got better! Outstanding menu and Italian wine selections. Knowledgeable staff and romantic setting with candle lights. No wonder it is full all the time! Book well in advance!

i just cannot say enough about our dinner at Le Serpent. Located in a cool warehouse section of Montreal, food and service was world class. We were 3 and all ordered different dishes to try as much of the menu as we could. All 3 entrees were great, best being the black truffle risotto. Wines by the glass were very good both whites and reds. The deserts were exceptional, and we appreciated the creative license taken.

From the moment we stepped into the restaurant until the time we left the staff at Le Serpent were amazing. Service was exceptional and this was easily one of the best meals we have ever had. The halibut with brown butter sauce was absolutely amazing. Desert was fantastic. Wine suggestion from our server was perfect. Already looking towards our next trip back!

We were greeted (with a Bonjour-hi) and welcomed to our table as soon as we arrived. Service was excellent in both languages. Menu choices were interesting. Off the menu request was accommodated. Wine choices by the glass were ok but could have been more extensive. Wines by the bottle were pricy. Server was quite knowledgeable about wines and helped guide our choice. (We are also quite knowledgeable.) Dining experience, from atmosphere to quality of food was excellent. Sadly, the street access was a challenge because of closed roads. Fortunately we took UBER and avoided parking issues.

Loved this place. It is definitely fine dining. Ordered all the entrees and share them with another person. Entrees were very original and tasy. I would recommand to go if you love fine dining. Expect a bill of around 100$/head.

Le Serpent is in space that was once very industrial. The conversion to a restaurant was very well done and unique. And the foods great. We had the burrata, lamb patcher and the lobster risotto. All were very nice. The service was most friendly and efficient. The restaurant manager stopped by to give us some background on th restaurant and its name. We really enjoyed it and would go back.
