A must do! You will not be disappointed!
Our tour guide Louis did not disappoint! Not only did we taste the local fare (generous portions) but Louis provided excellent commentary re the history of the area, the eateries/owners we visited, and of course the history of the food. You will be satisfied!

A Food Tour All in Montréal
While in Montréal we had the good fortune of reserving a Food Tour in the Mile End with Local Montréal Food Tours. The tour, which was guided by the lively, informative and entertaining Chantal was a transition tour as the Local Group was taking on a couple of new establishments. The experience was just wonderful and was a standout from some of our previous food tour experiences. The selection of shops/food offered was both diverse and well choreographed. Portions were plentiful and nicely sized and should easily satisfy the most hearty appetite. The Local Group also carefully navigated my wife’s dietary limitations allowing her to fully enjoy the Tour. Highlights included a sampling of poutine topped with smoke meats, a delicious smoked trout sandwich, a toasty Montréal bagel, a flavorful cheese selection and some fanciful ice cream. Chantal’s warm and engaging nature combined with her interesting stories and some relevant history served to greatly enhance our experience. What could be better than eating fine foods and meeting folks from many different locales while be led through a historic neighborhood by a friendly and engaging tour professional. Thank you Local Montréal Food Tours.

    So.Much.Fun.
Our guide, Caroline (forgive me if I misspelled the name), made it a very fun afternoon. So much good food, so many wonderful stories about the area and the delicious restaurants we visited. What sets this tour apart? It was our terrific guide. You can tell with every story Caroline shared that she truly cares about the area, the people, and the restaurants she featured. That care rolled over to every person in her tour. She made a connection with each one of us, and was just so kind. While other folks waited in long lines, Caroline popped into these delightful restaurants and got us our food right away. Boy did I feel special! We laughed, we ate, we smiled. You walk away from this tour with a full tummy, great stories, and a love of the Mile End area and its people. If you get the chance to take this tour, do it. Days after our tour, we are still talking about the delicious food, the people, and our special tour guide who made it all possible. Caroline, you're a gem! I can't wait to go back.

    Great Food Tour with Louis
This tour was recommended by a friend. Louis was a fabulous guide. The food was great. And my friend from Montreal proved to me the value of a bagel from Montreal. They are different from NY bagels, but fabulous nonetheless.

This tour was amazing!! Felt so personal, I use guide Caroline (sp?) was fantastic! She clearly knew the area well, had some amazing stories to share along the way, past and present, worked to bring our cultures together. Really cool experience 10/10 would recommend. Would recommend this great tour!
Darren was a fantastic guide! So knowledgeable! The food selected (Greek, gnocchi , cheese tasting, Montreal bagels , ice cream and more were a wonderful taste of all that Mile End had to offer. Combing history and tastes was a wonderful way to spend 3 hours. Note that Mile End neighborhood is eclectic.

This was such a wonderful experience! We tasted excellent food and also learned a lot about the history of Montreal from our guide Cecil. Cecil was an EXCELLENT tour guide and provided above and beyond service. She gave great recommendations for other places to explore and visit. She clearly has great pride for her city, and she is passionate as a tour guide.

The Guide was fine.. no issues. But for a food tour, the food was abysmal. Bagels with cream cheese? small pieces of cheese on toast? roasted poblano peppers in a taco? Is that what is striking about the Montreal food scene? If you are a cautious food person.. this trip is for you, if you are truly into food, stay away. and the portions are miniscule as well. I have done food trips in many cities and this ranks the lowest.

Good tour with interesting overview of some old port buildings and history. Food stops included bagels with lox and cream cheese, tiny charcuterie sampling, tasty tacos, poutine, pastry and beer. Guide was good but difficult to hear (street noise, musicians in the park, etc).

We were led by Cecile who was a very informative tour guide, she is a Montreal native and you could tell she loves her city very much. The spots we visited were interesting and it was a pleasure spend some time learning about the culture and food of this city.

Personable tour guide with lots of food knowledge and Montreal stories to tell. We went back to get more desserts and treats from the market. Every food selection and story was a treat. Highly recommend.

My husband and I vacationed in Old Montreal in June, and we scheduled a Old Montreal Food Tour to acquaint ourselves with restaurants and cuisine at the start of our vacation. We were very fortunate to have Shanty as our gastronomic guide. We tried foods from different restaurants; yum! All delicious. She provided not only food information, but some history on Old Montreal. Her information actually helped us decide what tourist locales and history we wanted to further explore during our stay. Great decision. Great guide. Thank you!

Good food. A little snafu at the place where we had poutine, but David found us an outdoor table out of the rain. Loved the meeting spot.
