    Surprising and useful hidden treasure
This was such an informative tour! Very helpful! I wish we had taken it on our very first day. We might have made use of the Underground more during our stay in Montreal Gabriela was very knowledgeable and answered so many questions with grace and patience. It was fun to see the surprising amount of art under and around downtown and to learn the history and the connections you could make inside this hidden treasure. Highly recommend.

    Needs some zing.
Gabriella was good. The tour was boring at times, no reflection on her. It needs to be paired with something to give it some zing…we did the Old Montreal walking food tour a few days earlier, which was fantastic.

Great Tour of the Plateau and Mile End
Had a fantastic tour with Tom of the Plateau and Mile End areas of Montreal. Learned so much about the history, architecture and general facts. Also appreciated the two surprise food treats! Tom was a great guide who is clearly very passionate about what he does! Highly recommend this tour!

    Must do walking tour
What a fantastic tour by Thom. Comprehensive historic overview and using that while pointing out things during the tour. Enthusiastic guide that shows really interesting things without overloading it and adapted to the groups interest. And the snacks were yummy as well. Thumbs up and a must do.

The Original Montreal RESO Underground City Tour
Martin was an excellent guide, engaging and with a thorough knowledge of subterranean Montreal and much more. He bought the 2 hour tour to life with a mix of locations and history as well as a general overview of how Montreal evolved from past to present. Highly recommended tour.

Awesome Walking tour of Montreal’s Underground
Wonderful introduction to a walking tour and the intricate underground network of Montreal!. Our guide Tom was informative and engaging and it was a good option for a rainy day we kept popping up like ground hogs around the city and the two hours and 4 miles flew past! Would recommend.

A great tour with a knowledgeable and friendly guide.
We had a great tour with Thom. As well as telling us lots of interesting things about the underground city that he took us around, he was very knowledgeable about Montreal in general and was able to answer lots of questions both our group and others had. Highly recommended! Make sure you have lots of thinner layers even on a cold day, as the underground is actually quite warm, so too heavy a signle coat will leave you hot and bothered.

    Great Tour
Underground Montreal can be confusing and it’s could be described as a number of shops and restaurants- not very interesting We decided on it because of all the snow outside Gabriela was our tour guide and she was excellent providing history in an informative and relaxed way She took her time and all our questions and the underground city came alive Thank you Gabriela We even went back to the end point on Sunday for a coffee and watched the ice skating

Isabelle is a tremendous tour guide. Vivacious personality and clearly passionate and knowledgeable about her native city. We learned so much and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Perche after the tour - highly recommend if you are needing a view to remember it all by. Our last day to take in all the sights and sounds of Montreal.

Isabelle was an amazing tour guide! So personable & knowledgable. Really enjoyed that we were given a list of all the places she mentioned (including restaurant recommendations) so that we could go back & visit them afterwards. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Montreal. Great activity for your first day here to orient yourself to the old city & get ideas about what to do next.

Our tour guide, Martin, was a fountain of knowledge. He spoke clearly, gave us a historical perspective of Old Montreal in a personal way, having grown up in the area, and managed to insert humorous tidbits as well. We walked at a nice steady pace, mostly on a flat route. He stopped to talk and allow us to rest at points of interest, explained the significance of statues and monuments and thoughtfully made time for a restroom stop. In the end, he gave us great suggestions for places to visit and dine. One thing for sure, this tour maximized our appreciation of Old Montreal in the short time we were there. Thank you, Martin.

Hey Bill! Our bestselling Explore Old Montreal tour is a mix of walking/standing/talking. The guides can't give info to the whole group while walking which is why...they have to stop/stand/speak regularly so everyone can hear and appreciate the details. The pace is adapted to be comfortable for the entire group. Any guests looking to really stretch their legs and go at a quicker pace should contact us to arrange for a private tour. Thanks for the review and we hope you can join another MTL Detours tour soon!
