This is the largest church in Canada, and it's notable in that the exterior was built in a renaissance style while the interior is Art Deco. Although the inside is a bit austere, its monumental scale is still very impressive. I was fortunate to hear a terrific concert on the basilica organ while I was there.

The oratory has an interesting history, and there are several sacred places related to its founder, St. Andre Bessette, including his tomb, the original chapel, and the beautiful votive chapel. There is also a museum, but it's only open until 4:30 PM. A must-visit for all interested in the faith.

This is a gorgeous cathedral modeled after St. Peter's Basilica, including a wonderful replica of Bernini's baldachin over the altar. There are beautiful paintings of Montréal's Catholic history in the aisles, and music during mass was terrific. Of the four basilicas in Montréal, this was my favorite, and it's well worth a visit.

Well the Catholics have theirs, and this one is English and Protestant. From the 19th Century, very grand. We listened to organ music here. Right in the middle of downtown.

We came across St. George's Anglican Church, in Place du Canada, by chance. It's a nice looking church built in the English Gothic Revival architecture style. It's worth a quick visit.

Very close to a major hub like Berri, you clearly spot the elegant structure of the Church. The interiors is a relaxing place with frescoes on the walls and ceiling. It is worth stopping by and check it out.

This beautiful church, located in little Italy, was built almost entirely by Italian immigrants from the region of Molise in Italy. They built it to commemorate sighting of the madonna in la difesa, Casacalenda, Moilse. It's also special to me as I was baptized in this church.
The controversy about the the Mussolini fresco is exaggerated since it was done before the wars and is a tribute to his handling of the Roman question whereby the Vatican was granted independent state status in perpetuity.
Instead focus on the frescos by Guido Nincheri and enjoy the artistic magic.

I married in this church many years ago; it’s nice to be back after all those years. I came here for a wedding. The parish of La Visitation was founded in 1736. It is also one of the oldest churches in Montreal. In 1850 the church was expanded because it needed more space for the residents in the area. The church is just beautiful in a great area next to the river with a lot of parking space. The ceremony was really nice and the singer was also amazing. The priest that gave the mass was very nice and I loved the advice he gave the bride and groom; it also a good time to reflect on your marriage vows and use the advice that the priest gave the guests because it made a lot of sense.

A must see when you are in Montreal, you can never visit too many churches. The architecture of this church is very unique and has a Victorian/Roman style to its architecture. Great place as a quick pitt stop to visit when you are in the area, you will most likely spend 30 minutes, if this place holds a more religious significance to you.

‘Abdu’l-Bahá stayed in the home of May and William Sutherland Maxwell during his six-day visit to Montréal. This house is now the only Bahá’í Shrine in Canada.

Amatu’l-Bahá Rúhíyyih Khánum, daughter of the Maxwells and wife of Shoghi Effendi, Guardian of the Bahá’í Faith, explained the importance of this Shrine in these words: “Things arise in historic perspective as time goes by. This is the only private home in Canada where ‘Abdu’l-Bahá stayed. After His visit, it was always considered blessed by having been used by Him. For future generations, it will eventually grow in importance and sacredness, because He, the Centre of the Covenant, the Greatest Mystery of God, stayed here.”

I went there to pray and the congregation was so inviting I ended up staying there. The Rabbi Asher Jacoboson is a great speaker and does his sermons on Saturday during Shabbos. He also does classes on Tanya and his way of explaining things is at every level. It is a very welcoming place come and join us for services if you are out of town.Btw this place is for everyone that needs a place for spiritual wisdom or prayers. They offer services for marriage, bar mitzvahs, weddings and funerals and if you need to speak to a Rabbi he is a great listener and has great wisdom to help, you see it in a different light. I will say many come to the place of worship. The building itself was made a long time ago and the glass windows are from the glass of other synagogues collected from the holocaust it has a very interesting history. Come and join us.

This is a beautiful classically designed church in the heart of the city.

I always like to pop into a church if not to pray then to contemplate - are they different ? And the location of this is particularly handy.

Don't just walk on by. If it's open do have a look inside ... and a sit down if time and opportunity permits.

Chabad NDG is an incredible place. If you are in Montreal you must try their Friday night or Saturday prayers. Maybe you’d like a Shabbat dinner or a social event. Relationships classes, Kabbalah classes, holiday celebrations. The people are amazing and community is warm and friendly. I would check the website to see what’s happening this week.

This church is located in the Hochelaga neighbourhood of Montreal and has a very impressive façade. The church is a of typical architecture of the churches in Europe of the 19th century and can be an interesting place to visit when in Montreal.
