It was really fun exploring Mile End with my daughter. We went to the Olympico café, the Croissant frigaro, the Papier Japonais and the Falafel Yoni for lunch.

Recently saw the company perform Sleeping Beauty at Places Des Arts and it was a great experience. Everything bout the performance was good, the costumes, dancing, Orchestra, and the crowd appreciated it very much. It was my first time seeing this company perform and would like to see them again.

Circus, shmircus, I am the last one at the party. Not really a fan - dare I say that I have never actually seen a performance by our own Cirque de Soleil, though my wife and children have.

Snobbery? Perhaps, more likely ignornance....in any case my wife and I recently discovered TOHU, the performance space, thanks to the genius of Robert Lepage, and were happy to attend for the first time, a performance of les 7 Droits de la main, the cleverly titled "little" circus that lives here in Montreal.

The show is called Food and Confessions and it is a clever weaving of food tales from around the world, each tale inspired and delivered by a cast member and what a cast: from black Americans and white quebecoises to Argentinians and Russians and....people speaking English and French and Spanish and Swedish and Russian and ...holy cow, why it sounds like, yes, it sounds like ...MONTREAL. How much fun is that, to go to a show that actually reflects the sprawling craziness of what we hear in the streets all "filtered" through the real language of life, the BODY? A high wire charter of rights we can all look up to. And at.
