    Old Montreal tour
A great tour of old Montreal. Jeff our guide was knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. Answered all of our questions and was good for tips and advice. Tour was very educational and covered a lot of history. Highly recommended.

    Fabulous tour!
Isabelle is a tremendous tour guide. Vivacious personality and clearly passionate and knowledgeable about her native city. We learned so much and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Perche after the tour - highly recommend if you are needing a view to remember it all by. Our last day to take in all the sights and sounds of Montreal.

    Great Tour!
Isabelle was an amazing tour guide! So personable & knowledgable. Really enjoyed that we were given a list of all the places she mentioned (including restaurant recommendations) so that we could go back & visit them afterwards. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Montreal. Great activity for your first day here to orient yourself to the old city & get ideas about what to do next.

    Old Montreal in a capsule
Our tour guide, Martin, was a fountain of knowledge. He spoke clearly, gave us a historical perspective of Old Montreal in a personal way, having grown up in the area, and managed to insert humorous tidbits as well. We walked at a nice steady pace, mostly on a flat route. He stopped to talk and allow us to rest at points of interest, explained the significance of statues and monuments and thoughtfully made time for a restroom stop. In the end, he gave us great suggestions for places to visit and dine. One thing for sure, this tour maximized our appreciation of Old Montreal in the short time we were there. Thank you, Martin.

    Fantastic tour of Old Montreal!
This was a great way to see Old Montreal and full of information we had not run across in our research. Isabel is a terrific guide; both knowledgeable and entertaining, and kept just the right pace for our group. Please remember to tip your guide!

Worth two hours in the heat
We loved our tour with native Montrealer Silvia! Hot day (87°F) and she prioritized having shady stops. Loved the history, the unexpected movie trivia and food insights. Very cool that she knew the buildings’ histories but also their current status. I would do the tour again 100%

    Awesome Walking Tour
My fiance and I throughly enjoyed this walking tour. Our guide, Jeff, was a fountain of knowledge and very entertaining. He told us the history in an interesting way and it was not dry at all. I learned so much and have a new appreciation for the city. The tour was two hours long and flew by quickly. I didn't feel tired walking and we had lots of stops to take in the history. I liked that we were able to go inside a few buildings with air conditioning to take a break from the heat. The tour is small and personable which we liked. I can see why it has so many great reviews. Highly recommended!

This was such an informative tour! Very helpful! I wish we had taken it on our very first day. We might have made use of the Underground more during our stay in Montreal
Gabriela was very knowledgeable and answered so many questions with grace and patience. It was fun to see the surprising amount of art under and around downtown and to learn the history and the connections you could make inside this hidden treasure. Highly recommend.

Gabriella was good. The tour was boring at times, no reflection on her. It needs to be paired with something to give it some zing…we did the Old Montreal walking food tour a few days earlier, which was fantastic.

Wonderful introduction to a walking tour and the intricate underground network of Montreal!. Our guide Tom was informative and engaging and it was a good option for a rainy day we kept popping up like ground hogs around the city and the two hours and 4 miles flew past! Would recommend.

We had a great tour with Thom. As well as telling us lots of interesting things about the underground city that he took us around, he was very knowledgeable about Montreal in general and was able to answer lots of questions both our group and others had. Highly recommended! Make sure you have lots of thinner layers even on a cold day, as the underground is actually quite warm, so too heavy a signle coat will leave you hot and bothered.

Underground Montreal can be confusing and it’s could be described as a number of shops and restaurants- not very interesting
We decided on it because of all the snow outside Gabriela was our tour guide and she was excellent providing history in an informative and relaxed way She took her time and all our questions and the underground city came alive
Thank you Gabriela We even went back to the end point on Sunday for a coffee and watched the ice skating

Thank you for such a great review! We know sometimes it seems like the underground is just a maze of tunnels and shops. Its not! We are so happy to hear that you were able to appreciate its history, surprises and uniqueness though the eyes of our great guide Gabriela. Come see us again at MTL Detours for a different tour of the city should you return to Montreal!

Unusual and informative tour! The guide Martin stopped frequently to point out landmarks and our location, which helped orient us whenever we would emerge from the RESO. He also spoke of the history of the tunnels and how they came to be. He had interesting historical photos of many of the places we visited so we could compare the views. I like that the tour was in the more "modern" section of the city, and it was cool to experience all the connectivity of the vast underground complex. Lots of great shopping and cafes down there! And some lovely modern art and architecture.
