Beautiful chapel and the tour guides were so knowledgeable! Great place to visit after eating at the Totoro cafe just up the street.

Excellent look at history in the city. The experience does require guests to engage with the content by listening to the audios. I’d recommend 1 hour or 2 if you’re really into history.

I only walked a small area but it was a nice experience from the old port toward Atwater market. The Lachine Canal is an iconic gem located in the southwest of Montreal. Its 13.5 kilometer track between the Old Port and Lake Saint-Louis, its waterway, its green urban park, its industrial remains and its riverside activities make this site an experience to share.

The facade of this building is quite nice and it is quite a big building with at least three story levels. There are just a few stores for such a big building are not really that interesting.

We had a few hiccups starting out, Trip Advisor had the opening time wrong and they only give tours at pre-set times, either in English or in French. The staff were able to accommodate us though and we were able to get a tour, which lasted an hour. I wish it was longer, it was very informative.

We visited this house on June 23. There is limited parking on site. It is actually two houses connected to each other. Two brothers Oscar and Marius Dufresne built it in the early 20th century. Some parts were not accessible due to the reorganization of some exhibits. With a tablet you can explore the different rooms. It's a nice house to visit.

The church was free to enter but then there were charges if you wanted to visit the museum so we decided we’d seen enough of old Montreal.
Still worth visiting this cute church with some amazing stained glass windows.
Not sure why this is under shopping here, it’s a church and museum!

This is a lovely area of Montreal with the square full of numerous statues and flanked by really grand buildings like the Sun life building. Offering an impressive Victorian-style fountain designed to appear cut in half, and two arched metal and wood footbridges, the Square is a popular spot at lunchtime in particular, attracting hundreds of people each day. To this, add wide sidewalks and the restoration of the ancient vespasienne to complete the allure of this important public place.

We got a nice tour with a lot of explanations, my kids loved it! It was a great half day outing. Downstairs they have a nice bunch of games to teach you some history, good for the citizenship exam practice unless they make significant changes. It is a well kept place and a nice thing to add to your list if you are touring Montreal, esp since there are several other attractions nearby in the Old Port area. It's not expensive either. It's good to be a tourist sometimes, if you live here you don't get to do it that much.

This was a great area to walk through. I really like Le Leon (The Lesson)-it's a statue of a person on a computer.

This is a quiet square with a simple monument devoted to the Pioneers. It’s behind the Pointe-à-Callière Museum. Perfect for a breather.

This is a very be relaxing fountain where you can sit and relax and enjoy people watching on the benches. I sat there about a half hour writing trip advisor reviews. Well worth seeing

This is a unique museum that looks at the hand-crafted objects both old and new. Quebec has an extraordinary material culture - pottery, furniture, ironwork, silver - all beautifully presented in a historic church building. Weaving in contemporary craft - giving young artisans a place to show - added to the experience. LOVED the videos of working artisans - their stuff and stories

I went to see a very excentric schizophrenic yet amusing patient there that wanted me to ''free her', and hire me as a lawyer.
While there, I snooped around and was awed by the idyllic terrace around the building and the view of the St Lawrence below. Some of the river view is hindered today. This was once a grand mansion with Victorian fine architectural details.
Just two bits of advice, if you go, it should be on foot because parking around there is scarce. So if you're fit and need some exercise, challenge yourself to climb up there from Sherbrooke Street and also check out the surrounding Chateau style Water Plant on Dr Pennfield, adjoining McGill Campus and Royal Victorial Hospital (parking available there but expensive) .
