We were scared a few weeks before as it said temporarily closed, but did not stress as this seems to happen often and for short periods of time. The expo is free and inside a shopping center, which can be a bit tricky to find if you are not familiar with the area. Admission is free. We were amazed at all the Barbie’s. Each section was themed such as cultural, wedding, celebrity, fashion, and so on. Some people could get through the expo in 15 minutes, but we probably spent an hour here admiring the beautiful dolls. Great for all ages.Visited October 2023Travelled with familyWritten November 13, 2023

Only 25% of the collection was available for viewing. I wish their website would update the public as to when the remainder of the collection will be viewable.

If your in the area its worth going to take a look, but if your interested in Barbie then its a must see. It was interesting to see all the different types, surprising how many different ones they made. You can get a photo inside a human size Barbie display box.

Allow 15 to 30 minutes to enjoy this experience. It’s free to visit and fills a shop sized room. The barbie’s are pretty cool.

This experience gets two stars only because it was free (I appreciate free activities!). Right away, I noticed that there is zero information given about each of the dolls (minus their name). It would be so easy to add a bit of information about each designer and/or each doll! For many, I did not know why they were special or who I was meant to be looking at. I also did not understand why some countries / cultures had multiple dolls (I think Russia had five??), while others had one (or none!). A vast majority of the dolls - and I mean like 98% of them - are also white. This lack of diversity does not seem fitting for the Barbie brand.

Seeing all of the barbies on display is very impressive and kept us entertained for about 15 minutes. Judging by the photos we expected a much larger expo. They must have reduced the size as the space was much smaller than photos in other reviews. Unfortunately, I did not get a photo of the room to compare. I'd say if you're in the area and have a few minutes to fill it's worth it, but might not be worth going out of your way to see.

This is a quite small expo in a unit within a shopping centre so its open when the centre is. Fun to see all the celebrities and national costumes. Not well sign posted so you need look out for the address - 1455 Peel.

Dont waste your time. Its just a small stall with Barbie display in national costume and other designers brand. You can finish looking at it for 3 mins. Thats it.
Btw,The bldg is under renovation. So many areas are covered and escalators are not working and blocked too.

Is there a gift shop at the Barbie Expo? My 2 year old Niece recently discovered Barbies and I'd love to bring her back a souvenir from the expo when we visit next month.

They don’t have a shop on the shoe but she will definitely love to see this show. There are shops that sell barbies around downtown. You can tell her that this Barbie comes from Montreal.

Is there parking space near the expo?
Written April 18, 2018
The expo is located in the underground mall in Saint Catherine St. We went to American Eagle store and took the escalator down the underground where you will see food court and other stores.
Parking space can just be on the side of the road on the stretch of Sainte Catherine St. It's hard to find one close by. Some people will have to park anywhere they see a spot and just starts walking.

I have a 9 year old who is begging to visit the Barbie Expo. How large of an exhibit is it? Is it large enough to spend 2 hours or more?
Thanks.
Written October 12, 2017
It's a small space but there are a lot of barbies. It's more like 30m - 1hr it depends how long you want to look at each Barbie. It's one floor. It's inside a trendy fashion mall so there are some fashion store and other things around near the exhibition.
