    Wonderful historic museum
Wonderful museum to spend a few hours in. Good for both kids and adults. A throw back museum that is focused on the exhibits without electronics. Great in general but especially when the weather is cold and nasty

    Well worth the day out
Went here for the day to see the fossils and other memorabilia. As you leave the Metro station you need to cross the road and go up the hill. At the top turn left and walk about 200 yards before entering McGill University through the gates on the right. There were some protesting students there when we attended. As you walk through the gate walk straight ahead and the large building on the left, with the outside steps, is where the museum is sited. There is no entrance fee and visitors can make a donation in the box on the counter. The museum is mainly on two floors. It's best to start at the top where the Egyptian objects are sited before moving on to the first floor. There are skeletons on display, like those from the museum in London, but I don't like the stuffed animals, which clearly suggests they were first shot. However, it was great to spend a few hours there and I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in history.

Great little experience in downtown Montréal
A few things you should know this is a free museum! Make sure to check the opening hours and days. Most likely well maintained just need a little more cleaning and maintenance but its running by donations since its totally free to get in. It’s a beautiful place to come with your family or kids it’s located in the mcgill campus and has 3 floors. Expect that most of the fossils, artefact, antique are not real but it’s mostly about learning and getting informed about these things. Overall a cool experience to do for free when you have time in downtown!

This amazing little museum housed in Mcgill University is a natural history museum originally set up by Peter Redpath a famous Sugar Baron in the 1880's it covers zoology, palaeontology, mineralogy and world cultures, artifacts range from as far away as Africa, ancient Egypt, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, South America, the nearest metro stations are Peel & Mcgill both less than 5 mins walk from the museum

The museum is centrally located on the McGill University campus and is close to the Métro, the fine arts museum, some bookstores and other shopping, and many dining options. The First Nations exhibits were the high point (at least to me), and it was nice that some of the information captions were in the indigenous languages as well as in French and English.

It's in the heart of the city and the heart of the campus. I love that it was free. It is a small museum with artifacts well present. We probably spent about an hour in there and enjoyed our visit.

Picture a fully-featured museum of natural history ... and then condense it down to its absolute essence ... and the result is the Redpath. Even the walk towards it is a marvel. Definitely a museum worth seeing!

This museum is inside McGill University and it is free. There is no AC in there. It is small, three floors and it was nice for people of all ages. I didn't see an elevator but the stairs are going up. A lot of stuff to see in a small place. I would recommend it especially since it was free

This museum is free which is a plus for people with kids. It was a warm day when we visited and I don’t think they have air conditioning so keep this in mind when you plan a visit. There is so much to see and enjoy. The taxidermy animals and dinosaur skeletons were my favorites. The building is beautiful as well.
