Worth the train trip and the kids enjoyed
Family entry is not cheap, but with unlimited rides is a good idea. Close walk from train station. Rides were short and you can enjoy most things in one day. Working displays abound and the sub ride great for kids. In the morning a lot of stores were not open till later. Appearances looked a bit dull and could do with some uplifting Kids went home happy and that is the main thing

Great for those who likes Lego and target for younger kids
We went to Legoland Japan located at Nagoya on long weekend holiday so I believe it is more crowded than usual. But the queue is not very long, we manage to ride many rides in the park. We are a bit disspointed as there is no ninjago live show which our kids hoping for. But overall we still enjoy our time there. On the souvenier store, its good if they have more variety which is specifically for Legoland Japan so it feels more exclusive for the visitor. We love the Lego factory tour. It is about 30 minutes from JR nagoya station to the legoland.

A memorable day for the family is assured
This was our second trip to Legoland. On first impression, it does not appear very large, but as you wonder around, more and more seems to become apparent. It is not as large as Disneyland or Disney Sea, but it has some great rides and the queues are much shorter than at Disney parks. Ther are also some amazing displays. It is a full day outing for a family. I would highly recommend it.

I went with my 3 year old son who loves Lego (Duplo). I would recommend a visit during a weekday when it is not crowded (which was our experience). I would on the other hand highly recommend avoiding it on busy days. My 3 star rating is kind of based on an average of these two - its a good place to go on a weekday and a bad one to go on the weekend.

I'll hit the positive and negative points here.

Positives:

The staff were extremely helpful and very kind throughout our visit.

The rides are nice, there are enough for a 3 year old to have fun. Might not be very enjoyable for teenagers, but for young kids its good.

The Lego displays throughout the park are quite fun to look at and create endless photo opportunities. The big diorama is particularly impressive.

If you go on a weekday or off season it is quite empty and you don't have to do much waiting in line. We went on a weekday and felt like we almost had the place to ourselves, the waiting times at rides were minimal. This makes up for the small size of the park (see below) and is why I would recommend a visit on a slow day.

Negatives

The park is small, you could walk from end to end just a few minutes. If you have the place to yourself on a slow day its not a problem as there is enough to keep you occupied. If you go on a busy day though, I can only imagine how overcrowded and unpleasant it will be. A good theme park will give you the impression when you leave that you only scratched the surface of all the great stuff that is there and leave you wanting to go back and explore it further. Legoland Japan gives you no such feeling - you leave knowing that you have seen everything there is to see and feel no reason to go back. It was definitely a "one and done" deal for us and despite living in Nagoya have no interest in getting the annual pass.

The park is in one of the bleakest, most unpleasant locations imaginable. The train ride out there takes you through some of the ugliest industrial blight Nagoya has to offer (and that is saying something). Its nothing but smoke stacks, scrap yards and industrial haze for as far as the eye can see. Legoland is surrounded by this. I have no idea why they located it there (probably ease of access by rail) but since the trip there is part of the package, this is worth mentioning (once you are in the park most of the smokestacks are obscured by buildings, but you do have some ""borrowed scenery"" noticeable here and there). This also seems to really limit their ability to expand since there doesn't seem to be much vacant land adjacent to the park.

The price, given the size, is extremely high. I would have to say it is the worst value attraction in Nagoya for that reason. A trip to the Zoo will cost you 500 Yen to get in (free for kids) and has way more to offer. Legoland has tried to respond to this criticism with a complex pricing system that requires advance registration of specified numbers of guests. This is really cumbersome and not particularly friendly to the customer. Why not just keep it simple and lower the prices across the board instead of making your customers jump through seemingly arbitrary hoops to get a small discount? Since I wasn't able to book in advance or fit my son and I into one of their "family passes" that require 3 or more people I paid full price. This was annoying.

A minor point but the first thing that greets you once you've paid the exorbitant amount for the tickets is someone who searches your bags to make sure you aren't bringing in outside food or drink. Is aggravating your customers the second they walk through the gate really worth the minor boost in sales at your food stands that this creates? Maybe it is, but its worth mentioning because it just adds an unpleasant interaction right at the start of everyone''s experience at your park.

So, all in all, if you are in Nagoya with small children on a weekday, have already exhausted all the other things to do in town and have a big pile of cash that you don't want, then I would highly recommend a trip to Legoland Japan.

Overall : With prices similar to USJ and Tokyo Disneyland, Legoland Japan only offers kids entertainment with second rate hospitality and efficiency. You would be asking for your money back if you visited expecting something similar to USF or Disney.

Entrance Fee : Similar to USJ and Disney, but some offers do exist. 50% off discount existed until June if you came with someone who had an annual passport. One-day pass can be upgraded for annual pass. But they only tell you at the end that a discounted ticket holder has to additionally pay the discounted part to upgrade (and pay full price in the end) so you feel you got ripped off by getting the upgrade.

Rides : Only good for Kindergarten or up to 2nd Grade. The Dragon rollercoaster is the only ride that could keep a teenager interested. Everything else is extremely short and unsatisfactory. Only makes you realize how much money and effort are put into each rides in USJ or Disney. In the weekends, you'd be waiting 30 mins to an hour depending on the ride, but in most cases you will be mad that the experience was never worth waiting in that long line. Understaffing makes the throughput of each ride extremely inefficient. Bottleneck is evident in each ride and the wait is that much worse since the faults are easily detectable.

Food : Extremely overpriced and short in supply. Hate to think how it will be like when it gets hot in the summer. Just buying water from a vending machine or a food stand will be difficult since there is so few of them. Just heard they started allowing water bottles (for kids) at the entrance. Security check is so lenient, it is just a waste of time just to do it. Let the people get in faster if it is going to be ineffective.

Opening Hours : It closed at 6pm when we visited (a Sunday in June). It closes at 5pm on weekdays. But wait, it is actually CLOSED on Tuesdays AND Wednesdays. Why? I guess Legoland wants kids to be home and be in bed early. Whats an annual pass when it is closed 2 days of the week?

Best time to visit : Any weekday that is open. In a day, you can experience all rides and even ride on your favorite on multiple times. Kids will have fun, but for the parents it will be torture to experience less than interesting rides and just stand and do nothing during the wait times.

Fast pass : None unless you purchase a tour package from a tourist office. So again, there is no escaping the inefficiencies of the under-staffment.

When does it become worthwhile : Only if you buy the annual pass and you live close enough to visit it on a weekday after school for 3 hours or so at least 6 times a year. And do it before your child turns 8.

Access : Quite a walk from the station. Better to park our car (on the 3rd floor, as close to section A1 as possible. But if you want to avoid the 15 mins queue of the parking ticket machine, park a little further away from the entrance and use the pay machine at the other end of the parking lot that nobody knows exist.

Anyone remember Italian Town that existed close to the Nagoya Aquarium? The shops next to Legoland reminds me of that so much. Let's hope it doesn't turn into a ghost town like that gimmick Italian Town.

We visited Legoland Japan last Thursday. It was a fun day despite our kids being older at 11 & 13. We joined the kids on some of the attractions including the Cat Cloud Busters (where we challenged our kids to pull ourselves up the rope and see who reached the top first), Dragon’s Apprentice (roller coaster), Submarine Adventure (we literally got into a submarine which dived into the water and passed through a passageway where we got to see interesting sea creatures), the Lost Kingdom (where we challenged our kids to shooting skills) and the Rescue Academy (where we split ourselves into teams and made our way to a burning building to put out the fire).

The Miniland also showcases the various Cities in Japan and these were built using LEGO Bricks. The cities include Nagoya, Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. The details that went into building these made them look really beautiful.

There were a few rides which were closed that day so we were a little disappointed. There was also no halal food served in any of the restaurants and we had nothing to eat the entire day apart from the Lego potatoes and hot cocoa. We hope that Legoland Japan would consider serving some halal menus and also provide a praying room for its visitors. We wish Legoland Japan the very best.

Regards, Shikin

We went on a Friday (28/7) with young kids aged 3-7. They had lots of fun.
The submarine ride is nice, and the splash battle was fun even for adults. However a few rides were closed on the day (for maintenance?) and the movie in Lego City was cancelled last minute.
There were queues for most rides and I think the longest we waited was almost an hour for the SQUID surfer. Other rides took an average of 20 mins.
This is how we planned the day and it worked out quite well. Managed to do most of the rides:
-if you take the aonomi line train from Nagoya station, check if they have nonstop trains that morning. It's about 10 mins faster than the regular trains. I found the schedule at the train website but it's in Japanese only. We took the nonstop train but it's not the legoland themed train - just a normal looking train.
-there is a security check before you get to the gate but it was quite fast. I don't think you are allowed to bring food and drinks into the park but we got in with bottled water.
-arrive early when the park opens. Buy tickets in advance so they just need to scan at the gate. We got a family pass online in advance.
-once inside the park, ignore everything and go straight to Adventure (on the right side) and do the submarine ride first. While waiting you can go back to Bricktopia and book a Lego class at the Robotic Centre. Suggest to get the last time slot of the day because it's near the exit.
-then go around the park in an anti clockwise direction.
-check the shows schedule (there is a QR code on the park map)
-bring a raincoat for the splash battle. You can get very wet. (But they also have body dryers in case you get soaking wet. )
-buy soft drinks from vending machines. It's 30% cheaper than from the restaurants and it's not from a soda fountain.
-long queues at the burger place even at 2pm so probably try to eat earlier or even later if possible
-leave shopping until the very end as there is a Big Shop near the exit.
-do the photo taking near the entrance area at the end of the day when the rides are closed for the day.

We were there from 10am to 6:30pm and did probably 80% of the park. Did not have time for Miniland at all... We could have spent more time in the play areas and Lego free play areas as well but unfortunately ran out of time. We also didn't manage to see the live show because it clashed with the Lego class.

The park is not big but you can easily spend a whole day there. Worth a visit if you have young kids.

It was our first time at a legoland and we had so much fun. I was there with two young kids and my elderly parents and we all enjoyed it. Most of the rides were suitable for all. But in general the rides are for younger kids below age 12. Older kids would want something more thrilling.

This park isn’t that big, we took about 5 hours to complete it. We were so impressed by miniland Japan. The details and the action buttons meant we could spend an hour in miniland itself. The miniland was very well done.

The food in legoland disappointed, we had cold sandwiches. There were other options such as burgers, pizza, pasta and fried chicken. But just outside legoland there are many “real food” restaurants to choose from.

There were no lines when we were there on a Friday. But we walked by on Saturday (we went to the rail museum on sat) and it was definitely more crowded.

The train there was very convenient, it’s one direct line that is abt 30mins from Nagoya station and we were staying close to the station (strings hotel).

For younger kids, I’d prefer this to Tokyo Disneyland. Disneyland was big but the lines there were much longer, so we only managed to take a few rides when we were there.

We( My Wife Niece and Her Boyfriend) just visited the new Nagoya Legoland. We were worried that there would be crowds that would hinder our seeing this new exhibit and we had been told that many of the rides were of younger children. Everyone loved it. The attention to detail is amazing. It has designed large panoramic views of several cities. icluding the skyline of Nagoya, Tokyo and Osaka. There are many of the sightseeing places Temples, Mount Fuji etc, all made from gleaming Legos. We all loved the Yellow Submarine complete with Live Sharks, just outside the Submarine. The food is a little higher than usual (2000 yen for all you can eat and drink, salad, pasta and pizza buffet but we were pleasantly surprised that it was tasty and there were some vegetarian dishes. It is definitely on our return list.

Great day of fun at LegoLand in Japan!

I had been to the LegoLand in England when I was a child and I have taken my kids to the LegoLand in Malaysia so when I heard there was a LegoLand in Japan, I was very excited to schedule a trip! I was actually surprised to hear there is a LegoLand in Japan as I have lived here and never seen a single piece of advertisement for LegoLand. I guess it is a hidden treasure? I have always wanted my children to fall in love with Lego as I did when I was kid and probably would have gone sooner if I knew it existed.
The day was so much fun and my children developed a liking for Lego because of it so successful all around!

When we arrived, my friend told me about the LegoLand App which I downloaded and used the entire day! That App is amazing!!! It shows you show times, map, as well as directions to anywhere in the park you want to go. I could even set reminders to let me know 15 minutes before a show starts! Could not have had as much fun at the park without this app actually.
Weirdly enough though, again I didn't see any QR code or any advertisement for this app. Totally a missed opportunity as nowadays even restaurants or hardware stores are directing you to an app. Not sure why you would put so much money into producing an amazing app but not ask people to download it.

My kids were super impressed with the Ninja Go show as well as all the rides! My favorite part (as at all legolands) is the monuments built out of Lego. Always so impressive!!

I feel like we had a very full day at the park and there was actually many things I wish we still could have done. We will have to go again for sure!

Recommend going!!

Situated near Kinjo Futo Station. After alighting from train, it's a 10 mins walk away. Small kids might be tired by the time you reaxh Legoland entrance.

Newly opened in April 2017, everything still looked new and colour-fast. Park itself is quite small, so the entrance fee at the entrance was a wee bit overpriced in my opinion. Buy online for a better price.

Park hours are short ie. 10am to 5pm/6pm and closed on certain days. Good to check online before you go to avoid an empty trip.

Non-lego lovers will find it a bore, as with the other Legolands around the world. Rides are more suitable for kids below 7 years old.

If you ask me, go only if you have time and money to spare and if you have small kids.

Ok, so I had prepurchased tickets online and turned up close to opening time with 4 of us in our party. The line just to get in (if you had purchased tickets online) was enormous. It snaked around the whole adjoining area. My husband looked at it and realised that by the time we got in it would be time for our daughter to have a nap and would be out of sorts anyway. They went back to the hotel. I decided to push on with our 6 year old son. By the time we got in the gates, it was well past 11am. Over an hour of our day had been eaten up just trying to get into the place 😨

Luckily my son had been cooped up hotels for weeks so he was completely satisfied with the great play areas there, as the queues were just too long. I conceded defeat and ended up spending more money on fast passes for 3 attractions so we at least got to do some rides. They were pretty good.

One area that has been tremendously under-built is in respect to eateries. I got in a queue for a burger and fries type place and was told it would be about an hour's wait. Everywhere had a similar queue, so the whole day we survived on popcorn as it was too difficult to get anything more substantial.

I think this park has amazing promise. But I wouldn't go back in its current state though. They need to work the bugs out.

We drove and parked at a carpark near legoland. There is a link bridge from the carpark leading to rows of shop and restaurant before arriving at Legoland entrance.
I bought a family pass from KLOOK and collection of ticket is at the counter.

I am surprise that the place is not crowded and there is hardly any queue for the rides which in turn save us a lot of time!

There are plenty of rides for kids and parents can join in the fun too! We went on the observatory tower where you can see the whole of legoland from the top. An area of miniature world made of lego and also a ride that goes underwater where we saw fishes and even shark.

Inform the staff if anyone is celebrating birthday and get a free name tag.

Highly recommend to spend a day & bring your kids for a visit!
