What travelers are saying
- Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore10,345 contributionsThis is a "center" within the JR Nagoya station that have lots to see, shop and dine. Whether you are taking the Shinkansen, metro or bus, you will not miss this place.
There are departmental stores like Takashimaya and Tokyu Hands that each covers several floors where you can shop until drop, among others. Also have lots of eateries, cafes, restaurants all around, and on the 12 and 13 floor too where you can have a good bird eye's view of the city.
Of course, convenience stores and souvenirs shops are around too. And if you walk further out, there's a Disney store and also more underground shopping street where shops selling fashion, shoes, bags and lifestyle products etc are located.
It's so convenient and accessible to move around and sometimes easy to get "lost" as there are so many entrances and exits and all look quite similar. LOL. So good to "recognize" some key shops or landmarks!
And the place is full of people all day long as people meet their friends here!Written January 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. On sunny days, look at the beautiful ripples projected on the buildings.Written May 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Google maps helps in locating the building, as it is not particularly well-marked. Once inside the lobby, it is easy to find the elevator to the 47th floor.
Entrance price for seniors is 500 yen, a bargain. On clear days the Nagoya harbour is visible to the south, as well as the mountains that surround Nagoya. For me the highlight was the view towards Nagoya castle.
It was not crowded at all in the evening, even during sunset.Written July 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - bigJohnny6702,603 contributionsCool indoor mall.

- Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore10,345 contributionsAbout a good 15-20mins walk from Kanayama metro station, you will reach this place. It's a big, spacious but quiet shopping mall that offers shoppers quite a lot to see, shop and eat!
We were there on a weekday and it's quite quiet and we managed to shop in peace. We had our coffee break at the Starbucks, did our window shopping around the 5-6th storey building with lots of bouqitue stores and makeshift stalls and bought our groceries at the supermarket.
It's quite a good place to be in regardless if it rains or shines outside and also a good one-stop shopping point!Written January 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore10,345 contributionsLocated just right next to Kanayama metro station, this is generally a modest shopping center, it's spiral and uniquely designed over a few storeys in height and spacious but there's lack of an anchor tenant, with only a few specialty and boutique stores. So there weren't many people during our visit there and nothing much or interesting to see or shop.
We stopped by here for a visit since it's only one metro stop from Nagoya station to make full use of our JR pass. But we left after a good 25mins.
In terms of shopping and food, I think Nagoya station maybe a much better place to go!Written January 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore10,345 contributionsI have reviewed this place back in December 2019 and in my recent trip back to Nagoya, I noticed there were quite a significant change. This underground shopping street is much quieter with lesser crowd and a number of shops are vacant or closed (not in operations).
Majority of the stores were mainly restaurants, cafes, souvenir and gifts and phamarcies, with only a few fashion and shoe shops.
In fact, during the lunch/dinner time, it was not crowded at all, except for a few handful popular restaurants with queues.
Probably the covid19 situation had dramatic impact on the operations. So it's a breeze walking here unlike over at the JR Gate Tower, that is so crowded all long day which you can walk through here (need not cross the traffic light at the street level)! You can still find a decent meal here but other than that not much to see as the JR Gate Tower has more to see!
However, an update, the hotel above it and next to BicC , Meitetsu New Grand Hotel had already closed down that we stayed in our previous trip.Written February 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was a good find as it has a big supermarket on the ground floor, food court as well as Donki mall on the 2nd floor for good deals.Written February 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tos TJapan9 contributionsIn Lachic, cafes are always crowded. In the 12th or 13th floor restaurants I can enjoy meal. After meal I look for a cafe, but every cafe has no empty seats. Then I go to the 4th floor, Beardsley. that is a female clothes ship. But there is a casual cafe. If you can't find a cafe, try it.Written August 26, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
