Don't go here expecting to spend half a day, and don't expect an aquarium on the scale of the other one in Nagoya, or the famous one in Osaka, for example. With expectations in check, this is an excellent little aquarium, with a big focus on education about the sea, pollution, and sea life.
They sell activity packs for just 500yen (in Japanese or English), which added a lot to the experience.
Among the exhibits were some amazing seahorses, clown fish, and moray eels. Sea Life Nagoya is tied to Legoland, so it was also full of Lego models which made it even more interesting.
It took around half an hour to go through the aquarium, and then a while was spent in the final area where you can color in sea creatures and then watch them come to life on the wall, which was fun.
Finally, there is a gift shop, which you can only enter from the aquarium, which sells Sea Life souvenirs, animal toys, and some Lego sets, so be sure to look around and not miss anything before you leave.
It is well worth getting the combination ticket of Legoland and Sea Life Nagoya.

Dear KlapauciusJapan, Thank you for your review! We are happy to hear that you had such a great time during your visit and made the most out of exploring all our wonderful tanks and exhibits with LEGO. We're always eager to help educate our guests on the various fish we have in our care and I’m so happy to hear you had such great fun learning. Did you successfully complete the "Ranger Mission Pack" ? If you have any questions, just ask SEA LIFE Rangers! Amazing Creations, where virtual sea creatures you color swim across the screen, is a very popular WOW experience zone for children and also adults. We delighted to hare this is your favorite. We hope that we can sea (see) you again soon!

Very small aquarium with only 10 small viewing rooms and nothing overly different or interesting. We went through in 30min got to the end and walked back to redo some of it because we'd planned half a day here. OK for the 500Y extra price to legoland but wouldn't pay to see separately.
Kids (4 and 8) favourite part was colouring in fish on an ipad at the end. They probably spent 40mins here. That tells you how interesting the rest of it was by comparison.

This is a small aquarium that is better suited for young kids.
Not a lot for Older kids/adults.

It is not a bad experience, but just not worth the money on a regular price ticket (1500 Yen for Adults, 1300 Yen for kids) If you have more than 1 day in Nagoya you can buy a pass and visit Sea Life after you go to Legoland. Then it is only ~500 Yen more..and it would be worth the money.

But my 5 year old and 3 year old did enjoy it. But their favorite part was at the end, where they could use an iPad to color a fish. Then the digital fish would be created on a big screen in the room and swim around with everyone's else fish. They did that many times.

You can get through the whole aquarium in about 1 hour. Then you can decide how long to stay and color digital fish;)

I went on a weekend, so for an additional 1,500 yen in addition to the ticket, there was a tour where the director of SEALIFE accompanied me on a tour around the museum while giving me a commentary, so I joined that.
The tour is limited to the first 10 people, but on the day I went, there happened to be only one person, so the director was with me the whole time and gave me a commentary.
In addition to the written explanations, he told me about where the fish came from, the inside story behind the design of the facility, and how the exhibits are displayed, so I had a really fun and fulfilling time.
If I have the opportunity to go again and they are offering this tour, I would definitely join!
We also received a participation certificate and a pink dolphin LEGO as souvenirs!

This is worth joining even if it costs 1,500 yen!!!
Highly recommended!

The backyard experience tour was so much fun!
It was very meaningful because I was able to experience things that I wouldn't normally be able to do, and learn about fish that I wouldn't normally know about, what the fish eat, and a lot of behind-the-scenes information about aquariums.
The guy who was in charge of it was very friendly, his stories were interesting, and he entertained me a lot with various quizzes!
Artemia, I remember it well 💪
I was able to appreciate the beauty of aquariums and marine life once again, and I look forward to hearing more stories.
It was really fun!

It was my first time visiting Legoland, which is located next door, and I also found out that there was an aquarium, so I decided to stop by there as well.
It was a weekday and the weather was bad, so it was very empty and I was able to look around at my own pace.
There were plenty of photo spots, and we even had the opportunity to touch starfish. The staff were friendly and chatted to me, so I had a very worthwhile time.

The staff were very friendly and answered all my questions patiently. I had a very fulfilling time. I participated in a backstage tour. I was able to see in detail the aquarium's facilities and even places that you don't normally get to see. Thank you very much. I'd like to visit again.

I went in without high expectations, but I was surprised by the seahorse tank.
There were more seahorses than usual,
and it was soothing to see them swimming here and there!
Maybe the keepers are good at raising them,
but I recommend it to anyone who wants to see lots of seahorses!
