My family was very touched by the genuine kindness and hospitality displayed by the employees at Maker’s Pier Curry House CocoIchibanya while we were stranded at the restaurant during a typhoon. The local bus, train, and subway lines were all suspended, so we had no means of transportation back to the hotel. The manager generously allowed us to remain in the restaurant for an hour after we had finished eating our delicious meals. Meanwhile, he called the taxi company to arrange our ride back to our hotel, and the employees fitted us with handmade ponchos. When the taxi arrived, the manager escorted us to the street front and watched our taxi depart before returning to the shelter of the restaurant. Keep in mind that tipping is not accepted in Japan. This was a genuine act of kindness.
