About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 541elissat0 contributionsGreat Experience as an introduction to TokyoWe had a 6-hour tour with Ack in Tokyo the day that we arrived. He was very friendly and helped us navigate the city. We packed a lot into the 6-hours seeing temples, Shibuya Crossing, visiting a Hedgehog cafe and much more. It was wonderful to have a local show us around and we would recommend this experience.Written July 31, 2024
- emayleo0 contributionsFirst-time in JapanIt was a great experience of Tokyo for a first-timer in Japan. Nobu was not pushy and went along with what I feel comfortable going to. He was knowledgeable of the city and provided helpful and invaluable information. He was generous with his time, and with his encouragement and showing me how to navigate the public transportation system, I am leaving Japan feeling accomplished as I did the train/subway by myself the following day. Had he not patiently showing me how it was done, I don't think I would have the courage to try and succeed. Thanks, Nobu!Written July 29, 2024
- lenkah4350 contributionsGreat tour with laughter and learningWonderful tour of Tokyo - select area. Mari was knowledgeable, flexible and Fun! We saw historical as well more pop culture sites.Written July 24, 2024
- Julie F0 contributionsGuided with knowledge and careWe met Maruf shortly after arriving in Tokyo and we were tired from our flight. He tailored our walking tour in accord with our interests. He was knowledgeable about Tokyo life, transport and culture and communicated his knowledge with enthusiasm and competence. We travelled by metro and train to see a number of different sites. We had time to stop for refreshments and to review progress. His plan was to show us the key areas that interested us in a thoughtful way. Because we had such a positive experience on day one we decided on taking a full days guided tour with Maruf to see Mt Fuji, 2 of the 5 lakes, a magnificently Shrine in a forest. Once again Maruf made the day very special. He also took photos of us at these sites and has incense t then to us. Our time in Japan was enhanced by these tours with Maruf. We thoroughly recommend Maruf’s servicesWritten July 23, 2024

- Shona M0 contributionsFantastic tour with extremely friendly, kind and informative guide! For our tour around Tokyo we had Rick (unsure on spelling) as our guide. He was super chill, friendly and flexible regarding what we wanted to see and do on our visit. He was kind and talkative with both me and my two children and was up for answering any questions or queries we had. We managed to get around many areas of Tokyo and visit places which we never would have found on our own, such as a temple and garden in Harajuku, a huge Sanrio store in Ginza, Godzilla statue in Shinjuku and Electric Town in Akihabara.Would most definitely recommend!Written July 18, 2024
- jamessW3791LJ0 contributionsNobu was Great! No I was wonderful. We had a great time. He was attentive to what we wanted and customized the experience on the fly when we told him we had already seen something he had planned. Wnding was great and saw some old and new and got history along the way. I highly recommend Nobu.Written July 16, 2024
- Tdaisy4040 contributionsWalking is the best!My son and I did a walking tour with Shoko on our first visit to Tokyo. She was the absolute best! Even before we arrived, she was in constant communication with me to plan the perfect tour. We kept the tour short because my son is only nine years old. We ate some good food, explored the fish market, and did some shopping in Ginza. It was the perfect day! We will definitely book Shoko the next time we're in town! There's just nothing like exploring the city on foot and with an expert!Written July 15, 2024
- Seaside5105260 contributionsKnowledgeable, flexible and great conversation - perfect day with ToshiToshi was the perfect guide - he knew the area and had history/background on the temples that we revisited and made our very short period of time stress free. He made the day seamless, he was a great conversationalists, flexible to our needs and graciously answered our kid's questions. I'd recommend Toshi to those traveling in any situation - couples, family, friends, etc.Written July 14, 2024

Thanks for this tour!Written July 13, 2024
- Julie W0 contributionsDay 2— 8 hour custom tourCheata was a great tour guide. She had lots of energy and kept us going!! We saw so much of Tokyo in the 8 hour day and she made sure we got on the right train to get back to our Airbnb.Written July 10, 2024
- Julie W0 contributionsBusy but fun day in Tokyo.Marek was a great tour guide. We had the best very busy day! He was able to pivot on the fly and really customized our tour!!Written July 8, 2024
- Q5127AFvalerier0 contributionsWonderful guided wanderingOur tour with Patrick exceeded our expectations. Rather than hit tourist traps, we wandered through neighborhoods, shrines, parks, cemeteries and even a market. It was delightful and authentic. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared pieces of history along the way. Patrick was kind and patient. He helped us understand the complicated train process and taught us basic navigation skills that assisted us throughout our trip. I highly recommend the private Tokyo tour if you want to experience things at your own pace and off the beaten path. Thanks!Written July 7, 2024
- Pariva0 contributionsThink Again!Unfortunately, the tour fell very short compared to the reviews and expectations. We hoped to be assigned a local guide, but did not have the same. Marc was least engaging and almost walking miles ahead on his own, even before the trip all the messages were promotional in nature. Could have been so much better!Written July 5, 2024
- A2057YHjasonw0 contributionsGreat Way To See TokyoGreat Tour. Our guide Saito was wonderful and helped us to navigate the city. He allowed us to lead the tour and made meal suggestions.Written July 4, 2024

It was great to learn about local life and about the castle (sadly we were too late for the castle, but we've been the day after)

We had an amazing tour with Takako visiting Atsuta-Sama shrine in Nagoya! She was incredibly knowledgeable about the shrine and the local culture. She taught us some of the traditional practices and we enjoyed a tea break at the shrine. We also enjoyed conversations about the cultural differences between our home country and Japan.

Local guide Saki provided exceptional english translation for an off-the-beaten-path tour of the traditional Kakukyu Miso Brewery on the outskirts of Nagoya. She met us at Nagoya train station and navigated local trains to get us to the tour on-time. After the tour, we had lunch at the brewery. One of the highlights of the private tour was spending time with this informative and friendly guide. We would highly recommend this experience for anyone.

Our tour guide was very patient and accommodating to us despite our being very late in meeting up with him. He was still able to tour us to the places we wanted to see.
