Early morning arrived, the shrine is really clean, quite and peace. Has parking places nearly, even has free parkings nearby..

Such a great variety of shops! Some good bakeries (which I ended up patronizing) and great eating places, plus almost everything you could think of for sale. There aren't many chain stores, which was one of the things that made this area so interesting.

I normally don't like shopping, but this was interesting and fun.

Easy to get to from the Osukan subway station.

Gem of a museum. Get to see the fine works of porcelain. There is also a good restaurant nearby to dine with Noritake tableware.

We stayed in Sakae for 3 nights. There are 3 underground shopping streets that are connected by Sakae subway. Two major shopping malls are close by as well. Oasis21 is just 10 mins walk from our hotel. There are many restaurants in Sakae.

This is a "center" within the JR Nagoya station that have lots to see, shop and dine. Whether you are taking the Shinkansen, metro or bus, you will not miss this place.

There are departmental stores like Takashimaya and Tokyu Hands that each covers several floors where you can shop until drop, among others. Also have lots of eateries, cafes, restaurants all around, and on the 12 and 13 floor too where you can have a good bird eye's view of the city.

Of course, convenience stores and souvenirs shops are around too. And if you walk further out, there's a Disney store and also more underground shopping street where shops selling fashion, shoes, bags and lifestyle products etc are located.

It's so convenient and accessible to move around and sometimes easy to get "lost" as there are so many entrances and exits and all look quite similar. LOL. So good to "recognize" some key shops or landmarks!

And the place is full of people all day long as people meet their friends here!

It is a place where you can enjoy a sense of open-air in the center of Nagoya.
On sunny days, look at the beautiful ripples projected on the buildings.

The place can get rather crowded during the cherry blossom period, however the lively atmosphere along with numerous food stalls makes it an enjoyable experience.

Cherry blossoms are beautiful all day long. Twilight walk on the riverside of Yamazaki river is recommended.

The temple is located in Osu, one of Nagoya's most popular shopping districts. The temple is located on the west side of the Osu district and at the edge of the shopping arcade, so the bustle of the shopping arcade does not echo so much in the temple precincts. Even so, many visitors to the shopping district stop by the temple as worshippers. The mundane atmosphere and the solemn vermilion of the buildings on the temple precincts blend together, but there is no sense of dissonance; in fact, the temple has been deeply loved by the common people for a long time.
The temple precincts are not that large, and it does not take more than 30 minutes to simply walk around the temple. Since many visitors come to the temple both on weekdays and holidays, you may never find the temple precincts quiet and deserted, even if there are no festivals. While the temple has become a tourist attraction, it's also home to many cultural assets, almost all of which are not open to the public, so visitors should not expect anything special from this temple (except for festivals). It would be better to visit the temple quietly, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to worship here.
Since the only access to the main hall is by stairs, there is also a place on the first floor of the main building for those with disabilities, such as wheelchairs, to worship.

If you happen to be going through Nagoya station, this is only a block or two from the station. Google maps helps in locating the building, as it is not particularly well-marked. Once inside the lobby, it is easy to find the elevator to the 47th floor.

Entrance price for seniors is 500 yen, a bargain. On clear days the Nagoya harbour is visible to the south, as well as the mountains that surround Nagoya. For me the highlight was the view towards Nagoya castle.

It was not crowded at all in the evening, even during sunset.

Main attraction of this park is the Nagoya Tower, Spaceship observatory and a restaurant area. It is a good evening stroll in the park looking around. Also many shopping malls in the area. Suggest just head to the Nagoya tower area will do.

Odaka Ryokuchi is a spacious green space located cozily near the railway station and Old Tokaido. It is one of the most popular urban parks in Nagoya with nice cherry orchard, plum blossom grove, miniature golf course, traffic park with go-karts, BQ and camp sites as well as newly opened Dino Adventure where you can enjoy the life-size dinosaur robots. The park is really large with 100 hectares in area and a lot to see but you will have to walk a quite bit to find out about the basic layout of the park. And the park fails to give us the recommended walking routes for first-time visitors. The park may be suited for family visitors using private cars. From Sakyoyama Station of Meitetsu Main Line only local trains stop and although approach is well-designed it is poorly signed to get even to the first major feature of the park, Biwaga-ike Pond. Information space or even visitor center is nowhere to be seen. This park could be a great place to relax for tourists only if there are comprehensive foreign language maps place in major information booths in Nagoya.

Major paying facilities in this park include:
Dino Adventure: 800 yen for adults
    Traffic Park Go-karts
Paddle Boats for the Biwagaike Pond
    Swimming pools
    Miniature Golf Courses.
You can even enjoy the free spaces of the park, too.

Rent a bicycle at ¥500/person/6month. Yes the rental goes by half-yearly. The cycling route around the park is about 1km. You can choose to walk if you like but it will take some time to explore the park. We spent 4 hours in the park by bicycle. There is the Dutch Windmill which is quite an amazing sight, the ancient clock which tells the time by the shadow casted on it, and also the Nagoya Castle. There are also ponds with fishes, ducks and swan and also a few bridges. There are cherry blossom trees and we managed to see the last few stalks of the cherry blossom flowers. Lots of people jog, exercise, cycle and walk their dogs there. There is also a Starbucks cafe at the main entrance and a truck selling fruits.

This wouldn't have made my things to do list in Nagoya but I happen to be around the area and stumbled upon it. So there, a mannequin. A gigantic one nonetheless. But is it worth planning it into your itinerary? No.
