Open for free except Monday. In the basement, solitary and solitary cells are placed, in which a faucet and tap stream instead of a toilet. Is it to prevent having time to spare? Is it for the re-offending prevention? The Complete book of the Six Codes of laws were silently placed in the corner of the complex. Former Nissan chairman Mr. Ghosn was also put in such a place for several months. It's interesting that there is something in the quiet that feels like it is.Written March 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This part of Arimatsu was well worth the short trip on the Meitetsu line (took a local with two changes at Jingu-mae and Narumi). The station was very convenient to the street of old merchant houses which ran parallel to the railway line (you had to cross the line to get there). Narumi was the fortieth station of the Tōkaidō and known for its shibori. The float houses were all closed but there was some English information on the signs outside and I was impressed by their size. Found the small museum and saw a fascinating demonstration of the styles of tying the fabric and some excellent finished examples in the attached display room. There were only about 6 people visiting but it was a cold day. Most information was in Japanese but a staff member with some English kindly helped me put on the very informative video in English and then helped me shop. Items were quite expensive but now knowing the work that had gone into them I was very happy to buy a lovely scarf and a wash cloth. The merchant houses that stretch over several blocks were quite typical I think but still attractive to walk past and look at.Written July 2, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jillieSingapore, Singapore664 contributionsAccidentally stumbled on this when navigating around Nagoya after taking the train. Didn't go up close but even from a distance, it is impressive as it is. But only if you are nearby.Written January 7, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- pekasuHelsinki, Finland378 contributionsI saw that building when i was heading to Nagoya Castle. It was so different than other buildings that i noticed it right away. I think it's some kind of mix of western and japanese style. Some might say it looks a little bit boring but i found it interesting.Written May 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter R.Ulsan, South Korea1,421 contributionsPart of the very modern city centre landscape that confronts you when exiting Nagoya Station on the Sakura-dori side, the 'Dainagoya Building' is one of the standout buildings facing you.
The green glazed building with its' interrupted vertical lines and slightly rounded corners and open air terrace with lots of greenery at the 5th floor level is very architecturally pleasing. Catch it on a sunny day and its' facade gives you a very clear reflection of the JR Central Towers opposite.Written May 27, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I stayed at the Prince hotel next to it with my partner in June. The hotel was lovely. Fantastic view on the city too. The mall has a great selection of restaurants - both Japanese, other Asian, and Western -, and several shops, cafes. The best is a spacious, gorgeous rooftop garden, and an enchanting 2 stories big flower shop.Written September 1, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndraYoTokyo, Japan1,468 contributionsDesignated as an Important National Cultural Treasure, it is interesting for the Teikan construction of a combination Western-style steel-reinforced lower floors & a Japanese-style Kawara Roof based on Nagoya Castle. Amazingly, it is open to the public. Someone suggested to see the Governor's Office, which we didn't.Written January 17, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zfy EdSingapore, Singapore10,345 contributionsAbout 4 mins walk from Fushimi station, you will come by this bank in a nice short building, surrounded by the tall buildings. The architectural of the building is beautiful (similar to those of the colonial times), and like other banks, they provided banking services with atm facilities but they do not offer foreign currency exchange.
Service by staff was excellent.Written February 27, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
