Neighbourhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Casa Bonet was built in 1887 by Jaume Brossa and was known as Casa Torruella. In 1915, Delphine Bonet commissioned the architect Marcel Coquilla to redesign the façade, rebuilding it in Italianize Neo-Baroque with a two-storey loggia, Neo-Baroque ornamental details adorning the lintels of the upper floors.

Casa Bonet is a house on the Passeig de Gràcia, along the stretch of the road known as Mansana de la Discòrdia. Casa Bonet sits on a block of I think four other houses and in some ways stands out for a clash of architecturl styles due to the Neo-Classical look of this, contrasting with the Catalan Modernist look of Casa Batllo, Casa Antller and Casa Lleó Morera.

The architecture is elegant, but I wouldn't go out of the way to see it unless you already intend to visit one of the famous Modernisme houses here.
