Yannis taught us so much about the Spanish Civil war. He was really good at making it come to life, you can really imagine what it was like with him showing you around. He was very knowledgeable, charismatic and knows how to lead a group. We highly recommend taking this tour!

The Spanish Civil War walking tour was very good. We had a great guide who was both enthusiastic and informed (shout out to Evan from Greece). The first bit was long because our guide had to explain about the Spanish Civil War and the different sides. Then we went on a walk through the streets where Evan explained the significance. There is plenty of shaded areas on the walking tour. If there is one little quibble is that some of the places we stopped at didn't have very close connections with the civil war. They were springboards for the guide to tell us about different aspects of the war. This is partly because apart from the army coup and the response and Italian bombing, Barcelona didn't see much of the fighting. But this is a small point and I would still recommend people going.

He was quite knowledgeable, he took us to interesting parts of the city and explained their respective relationships to the Spanish Civil War. This history is a must do if you’re in Barcelona! It was really surprising to see that the only Spanish Civil War museum is virtual, so I was excited when I saw this walking tour. Learning the history of the Spanish Civil War was thought provoking about the state of modern Spain and our world in general. Yannis, our guide, is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He stopped to answer questions, and he always found shaded areas for us to stop and listen.
