Neighbourhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

Everything served here is local to the Catalan region and delicious. We were off schedule and starving at 6:00, so we ordered nearly the whole menu and it was amazing: house garancha, croquetas, jamón serrano, olives, anchovies, pan con tomate, and pork ribs. Everything was salty and perfect! Not many veggies on the menu except for an interesting selection of soups. We even took home some coffee and the house wine from the small market. Would recommend to anyone!

We stopped at Tipic I Catala for lunch while waiting for our timed entrance into Sagrada Familia.

We shared Olives de L’Ebre, Torrades Escalivada, Coco de Recapte, Llesca pa Fumada and a beer and a water. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. The people who ran the restaurant were very friendly. We really enjoyed our meal.

We went here because we had been given a "Smart Box" offering chances to sample restaurants and bars with a gift of some free menu items.
The "smart box" though given to us last December was four years out of date. This bar had moved and changed its telephone number. We took time to track it down.
Tipic i Catalan in more a wine bar than a tapas restaurant. As your other commentators say much of the food is not prepared on the premises. It has a lovely family atmosphere - Abulea, hija, and nieto were there to greet us!
Selection of cheeses unimaginative. Priorat wine needed decanting. Croquettes bought in and warmed up whilst we waited.
Basically not worth the treck up town to visit.

We went here because of the trip advisor comments. The atmosphere was of a family restaurant, ok. The food is not prepared on site , I don’t even think they have a stove . Everything comes prepared already and just microwaved and put on the plates.
The food is ok but not impressed.

Very pretty and quiet place, feels like sitting at family table. But the food is not fresh (probably made the day before).

The location near Segrada is good and the atmosphere is very authentic but the food was such a disappointment.
Small dishes and nobody in iur family enjoyed any dish...
We really wantrd to enjoy this small, homelike place but couldn't because of the food.

Cheese plate was fantastic; also recommend the soups. Prizes were reasonable for food and wine, especially given the location. Very friendly staff. Great selection of local products if you want to take any wines, beers, cheeses, or other food products back afterwards.

We happened to chance on this small restaurant on our way to visit Sagrada Familia. It's a very nice cosy place, with great food and lovely wine, both very reasonably priced. The husband and wife owners who served us themselves were very warm and friendly, and could tell us about the food and the wine, which they purchase directly from small vineyards in the region. We had a memorable lunch, and appreciated the opportunity to buy some nice bottles of wine and garlic oil too!
