Interactive Spanish Cooking Experience in Barcelona
By Paella Cooking Class Experience
About
Rather than ordering tapas and paella at Barcelona’s restaurants, cook them for yourself with a local chef. Learn about local produce at La Boqueria market before visiting a teaching kitchen to prep tapas, mix sangria, and cook a paella. Sit down to eat them with your fellow cooks and opt to enjoy a “chupito” shot at a bar to cap your experience. A choice of time slots provides handy flexibility.

- cruzdoc0 contributionsRoberto was amazingOur group of 8 had an amazing and fun evening with Roberto. We learned some great history. We visited 3 wonderful places for great tapas and drinks. The food was delicious and filling and we made some great new friends in our group tour. Highly recommend this for a fun night exploring the Gothic District in beautiful Barcelona.Written July 15, 2024
- Z6939GYjordanc0 contributionsWould highly recommend the tapas and wine tour! This was a great tour. Lots of different food to try and the wine was very free flowing. We got a special treat going to the Test Kitchen. Roberto was out guide and he was very entertaining and knowledgeable.Written July 15, 2024
- James S0 contributionsGreat experience learning and eating around the Gothic quarter. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and history tour, Lorenza was very knowledgeable and we tasted a variety of local delicacies around the Gothic quarter while learning some of the political and social history of the region.Written July 7, 2024
- Ed R0 contributionsRoberto was awesomeHad so much fun and learned so much from Roberto our guide. So much food and wine, cannot believe the value for the price. Hats off to Tour advisorWritten July 6, 2024
- Lea M0 contributionsInteresting, but not a ‘ghost tour’There were no ghost stories on the tour. It had some interesting historical facts and a few disturbing stories, but it feels misleading to call it a ghost tour. The host was nice and friendly, but not a great storyteller. In his defense, there were some unruly young kids with tipsy parents in our group that were a big distraction.Written July 2, 2024
- Fearless271770527300 contributionsThank you for a super awesome day kayakingWe booked this trip in-between very amazing trips in Barcelona... Gaudi, Montserrat... and then came the most enjoyable day on the coast nrth of Barcelona. Together with Matias in his bus we took the trip north to Tossa De Mar on the Costa Brava coast... not only was the trip there scenic, when we arrived in Tossa De Mar it was the most beautiful little town!! ... And then we went for an amzing kayak trip with Matias. He was not only the most kind person we have met ever, he was fun and super informative and supportive while kayaking... showed us all kinds of coves and little waterways that one would have never seen, if not kayaking from the water. Matias, thanks a million for looking after us all and making today the most fun... Pieter even said the best day of his life... and we will all be back kayaking together with the rest of our families. Have a super season, and hope to see you soon. Corlia, Eddie, Liesel and Pieter.Written July 2, 2024

- Roving503927041920 contributionsFun and InformativeOur guide Jake was excellent. He was informative and very knowledgeable about Barcelona history. The tapas and cocktails at the 4 eateries we went to were very good and some were unusual. I don’t think we would have found these places or had this experience on our own. Everyone in our group loved it.Written June 23, 2024
- rgray90 contributionsAmazing, highly recommend!Amazing cocktail making class for hen party! Our host Lupe was fantastic and made our evening so much fun. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something to do in Barcelona!Written June 23, 2024
- LWills3140 contributionsKayaking never happened. We arrived at the meeting point to be told the kayaking trip was cancelled due to rough sea and wind. Feel we could have been contacted beforehand to save us the trip to the meeting point. Still waiting for refund.Written June 19, 2024
- JohnN800 contributionsAvoidReally poor. We’ve been on food / beer / wine tours in various cities this year and it was by far the worst. For the price, we had to share wine with strangers in the street, didn’t get any tapas on one stop because others had eaten all the food and had a dribble of sangria in the final bar and was told if we wanted any more we’d have to buy it. Four of us were also separated in the last venue and the guide after talking to the main group came over and said “did you hear that, or do you want me to say it again”. Not worth the money, very poor guide, food was good but scarce and very little to drink. AVOIDWritten June 19, 2024
- mikorza0 contributionsA worthwhile experienceI find it a truly fulfilling experience. It went far beyond with my expectations. Learned a lot about the foods, drinks and history in Barcelona .Written June 17, 2024
- RBG530 contributionsGreat tour, slightly mismanaged by DevourJordy was an excellent guide. An hour into the tour it began to pour. The group was game to continue, but Jordy did trim the walking a bit for the sake of our comfort. A couple venues were overcrowded because of people getting out of the rain. The only negative for Devour was letting a couple book the tour online at the last moment. Their late and disruptive arrival was unfortunate for the good of the group. Our group was bigger than the tour had arranged with the bars and restaurants prior to their late booking, so every venue was overcrowded. Let's not mention the behavior of the late couple.Written June 17, 2024

Had a great time. We picked out our own fresh prawns from the market. Everyone had something to do with the meal and it turned out great. Also got to meet other people and had great conversations.

Really fun to be at with friendly chefs and good food. Didn’t get to participate in all of the food prep simply because there were many people and only one “station” but we still enjoyed ourselves and had fun.

This cooking experience exceeded my expectations. Sally, the hostess, was very knowledgeable and kept everyone laughing. I highly recommend (and I’m not even a huge paella fan!)

Awesome experience. Liz and Anthony were the best. Sweet and fun and thorogh. Plus the sangria, tapas, and paella was wonderful. Learning how to actually cook the paella and meeting new people were the biggest takeaways from it!! Thanks Liz and Anthony!!

Hi! I took this class last year with Chef Kako and loved it. Visiting Barcelona with my partner on the 3rd and 4th of May (Saturday, Sunday) wanted to know if that’s when chef kako hosts the session! Thanks

Quiero saber si el curso es en español. y que me aclaren porque en el precio figura desde 55.74 dls
Are the ingredients included in the cost? Or do we purchase them separately at the market at the beginning of class?

Everything we made, ate, and drank were included in the cost. It's an amazing value.
I took this class a little while back but I lost the paper with the link to the recipe, could someone please share it with me? I can send my email if that helps. I really enjoyed the class and really wish I had the recipe.
How can I add my two year old to the reservation?

Not for this cooking class. There is a longish walk to a very crowded market. You wouldn't be able to maneuver a stroller. The class itself is very hands on (knives, hot stove) with a lot of standing. No fun for a young child.

Enjoyed this class a couple years ago but lost the sangria recipe. Anyone have that?
