The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

This is the park where you must go to take some excellent photos of the Gaudi cathedral. Very good vantage points from this perspective. Lots of people around both pre and post visit. Some places to sit and some shade.

This is a very pretty park and a must-go if you are headed to the Sagrada Familia. Pause and take photos and admire the crazy architecture. Come back at night, the crowds are gone and everything is lit up.

This park is across the street from the Sagrada Familia. There are lots of trees and provides shade from the summer sun. I hope they keep this park; it is nice to have some greenery next to the prize attraction of Barcelona!

This park provides an excellent place to view the newest side of the Basilica. The afternoon sun is especially nice for photos from this site.

There are also benches if you just want to sit and enjoy the view.

Pretty nice park to visit. There are good views from here. There are a little less tourists here, you can take a break from the noise.

The park offers good views, with less people than directly outside. Don’t forget to go in the park behind AND in front of the SF as they both offer interesting and different views.

Good place to view the Sagrada Familia from a bit more of a distance. The park itself has lots of shady benches if you need to get out of the sun.

On the other side of the sagrada Familia is the park. You can sit in the shade of the trees of this park and see the unique view of the Church of the Familia. There are also a number of small stalls where you can buy cold drinks as well as fresh fruit.

Very pleasing to your eyes when you watch such a wonderful creation specially the sun light when it lights the whole church without any bulbs

This small area outside the massive Sagrada Familia is a fine place to sit and take in the surroundings if you don't intend to go into the Sagrada (which you should).

There are a few street sellers around and a few beggars when we were there.

It will be interesting to see what the area looks like in a few years when the construction is complete.
