- P1385VLbrians0 contributionsTop-down fun in MontrealOlivier provided our family with a spectacular 3 hour tour of Montreal! We loved being driven around the city in a 1967 DeVille convertible. I highly recommend Throwback Tours!Written July 15, 2024
- Bill18Durg0 contributionsBest tour guide in MontrealOur Tour Guide,Olivier was An entertainer host, very funny and personable. The Cadillac was a big hit. Lots of looks on the way. Your was terrificWritten July 14, 2024
- davidlU3842MN0 contributionsExperience the charm of old Montreal in a vintage Cadillac convertible! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Vieux Montreal in a vintage Cadillac convertible: our guide Emerson was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Montreal and made the city come alive for us. He also offered some keen insights into what makes Montreal so vibrant and liveable today. A unique way to experience the charm of Old Montreal!Written July 3, 2024
- DGDC0 contributionsTouring in StyleOliver was a wonderful guide and the car was a crowd pleasing treasure. There can't be a better way to see so much of Montreal and learn about its history, neighborhoods and favorite restaurants. We also had the good fortune to do a fantastic Jewish Heritage tour with Emerson. We learned about Montreal's Jewish neighborhoods, saw several synagogues, the dueling bagelries--we actually sampled a St Viature bagle--and smoked meat restaurants. He really helped us understand the history of Jewish life in Montreal.Written July 1, 2024
- tripekk0 contributionsFun ride!We had a good time cruising around old town and then seeing the street murals. Emerson was very knowledgeable and friendly. We asked for the trip to be shortened a bit because we had another commitment and he made it happen. We weren’t able to see as much street art as I had hoped in part because a parking lot was closed (no fault of tour.) overall an enjoyable experience!Written June 26, 2024
- Sherry H0 contributionsFun and entertaining tour of MontrealOliver was a wonderful host and tour guide through Montreal. Very informative. The convertible was also a fun way to see everything. I would recommend the one hour tour vs the 2 hours we did. Everything could comfortably be covered in one hour. And if it’s hot out, go early and remember your sunscreen and a hat!Written June 19, 2024
- AnnaL7870 contributionsMontreal at its best!Marco, our tour guide was incredible! Timely pickup, rich knowledge and experience with great stories about the history, architecture and very in the know of current events in Montréal, superb driving, great sense of humor. Knowing all this in advance, we would've booked a 3 hour tour with him.Written June 17, 2024
- Timbo84630 contributionsA brilliant way to see Montréal on a sunny dayWe have been on loads of city tours but never one in an open soft-top vintage car! Emerson and Robert (guide & driver) were knowledgeable, interesting and fun. We enjoyed every minute of our 3hour tour in a red 1967 convertible Cadillac Deville. A 5 star experience of the usual and less obvious sights of Montréal - Many thanksWritten June 4, 2024
- Sasha P0 contributionsGreat Way to Start your Montreal VacationEmerson picked us up in his beige Cadillac convertible from our hotel and it was a beautiful day! He was late due to the group prior to us and traffic issues, but his communication, personality and knowledge and quality of the tour more than made up for it and we still got our full time! He gave us a nice balance of history, fun facts, and restaurant and attraction recommendations; which we used! This was a great way to start out our weekend in Montreal because we had some perspective and guidance of where to return to.Written May 27, 2024
- Nyabogado0 contributionsTouring in StyleMy family of 5 had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide, Emerson, was knowledgeable, witty, pleasant, accommodating and in general, a lot of fun. In 3 hours, we were able to see all of Montreal’s major highlights, all while touring in a vintage, stylish Cadillac convertible. It’s an experience we will remember!Written May 26, 2024
- U1305JGlaural0 contributionsGreat time, great carHistory lesson was fun and interesting. We were able to go back and explore specific locations on our own later. In a convertible we were able to get great photographs. .Best part was seeing other people’s reactions to the vintage car. One woman drove past and said “My grandfather drove one of those! Great car” Pedestrians smiled and said positive things about the carWritten May 24, 2024
- lesliej4580 contributionsGreat way to see the city in style and comfortWe had a fabulous tour with Emerson! First -- my husband LOVED the car -- he's a self professed Motörhead -- and it's a great way to see the city especially if anyone in your group has a mobility issue. Emerson is very knowledgeable about all the culture and history of the city and we just had so much fun with him. He pointed out lots of great places to eat, places to go hear music in the evening etc and additional things to tour while we are in Montreal -- giving us ideas we had not heard of or did not find on Trip Advisor. The car attracts a lot of attention -- especially from men and boys -- and it gave us such a giggle to see the all the reactions, It's a great way to get an overview of Montreal. Highly recommend it!Written May 24, 2024
- Lorraine T0 contributionsFun Riding TourIt was a fun experience seeking the sights of Montréal in the ‘69 Cadillac convertible. We definitely attracted attention in our vintage ride. Oliver did a great job sharing the history of Montréal and showing us the major sights from the comfort of a car since my husband has difficulty walking distances. I wondered why the cost of the tour was so much more if you were picked up rather than coming to them at their meeting spot. We learned the traffic was horrific on the road along the river and barely crawled. Pedestrians were EVERYWHERE crossing the road in front of the cars.Written May 19, 2024
- JayvRob19700 contributionsGirls Weekend in MontrealMy friends and I spent 3 hours learning all about the history of Montreal. I can’t say enough about EMERSION, our guide. He was very knowledgeable and kept the tour fun! It was time well spent!Written November 12, 2023

A few points you should know before booking ... we did the three hour tour - way too long! Not enough sights to see. Stick to just one hour. But another good reason to do just an hour is ... the car we were in was NOT comfortable. Yes, it's old - we understood that, but the car's seat padding needed to be refurbished, it was just too worn down and thin. It was apparent at least in our case, that the exterior looked well taken care of but the interior really needed some help and the car needed a full tune-up; not sure how safe it was!
Its also good to remember that the seats don't adjust so the only roomy seat for someone with long legs, is up front. And definitely don't try to cram 4-5 people in the car - really uncomfortable. I suggest just 3; meaning only two in the back, otherwise you are in for a rough ride.
We really liked the idea of touring in a vintage car, but the reality wasn’t that great. Our guide was really interested in promoting his favorite restaurants and was very opinionated rather than just telling us the story of the city. Didn’t appreciate his swearing either. Overall it was OK, but definitely don’t go for more than a hour!

We had the best time with Emerson during our Throwback Tour of Old Montreal! He is fun, knowledgeable, and personable! My husband and I, along with my mother-in-law (nicknamed Connie J. on the tour, you know what I’m talking about, Emerson) and her friend, spent an enjoyable hour+ with Emerson touring Old Montreal. The day and time we had originally scheduled to go on the tour was iffy due to the weather, and Emerson was super flexible and communicative about working us in when it would be sunny/nice. He made sure to hit the highlights regarding the history and culture of the old city, and entertained us with personal and local stories. Our time with him ended all too soon. I can’t recommend Emerson and Throwback Tour enough. You won’t be sorry!! Trust me—you will laugh, you will cry (be moved), and you won’t get hurt at all! :)
