A college friend of mine recommended this property, based on one of her friend's recommendation. It was fine, just nothing special. No "wow" factor. Checking in was a breeze and the staff was nice. There are multiple restaurants and bars on site. The food was just "ok". 2 dishes actually were really great. The mushroom risotto from Portofino and the Cantonese fried rice from Fusion. The worst was the fried cheese from Seaside Grill. It was absolutely disgusting. The buffet was a disappointment as well. Due to Covid, the buffet isnt self serve. You have to wait on kitchen staff to serve you, behind the buffet line. And on occasion, they were no where to be found. And how about just some regular scrambled eggs for breakfast? No where to be found. Just poached, which were ok. An omelette would have been nice, too. It might be better if patrons donned plastic gloves and got their own dishes. One huge "wtf" moment occurred when I was trying to dine at Portofino. I was waiting at the hostess desk, waiting to be acknowledged. But the hostess kept ignoring me, and sat 3 couples before even acknowledging me. She assumed I was with someone else. Didnt bother to ask. Just assumed. As far as the beach? Not as pristine as one would think. Full of "plants" from the ocean, washing up on shore. More of this stuff than sand. But, that's not the hotel's fault.
One final thing, the room is moist and stinks to high heaven with stale air, when the AC is on. Your clothing and everything else will linger with this odor. So, as soon as you get home, wash your clothes to get rid of this odor.

We travel quite alot as a couple and visit many different countries and all inclusive resorts but this one beats them all. We visited the resort early March and upon arrival to resort we never had to lift a finger. We opted for preferred club as it was a birthday trip and we were not disappointed, our private butler Marcelo was absolutely perfect. He texted us every morning asking how we were doing and offered any support we might need. He helped my husband pull off a beautifully decorated room for my 30th birthday he also assisted in many other things we needed during our stay so thank you Marcelo for making our stay perfect!
Every single staff member at this resort is friendly and polite, they all make an effort to say good morning and evening and the serving staff are very attentive making sure you've always got a drink.
The restaurants are also very good, Fusion was our personal favourite but the others were fine also. Room service was also included and gave us options when we were too tired to go out for lunch.
The beach area is very nice and clean, the mention in other reviews of seaweed being an issue was not correct in our case. They work very hard in clearing any seaweed and the beach is well maintained and although you do get approached by vendors they quickly move on once you say no. Drinks are also served to you in the preferred area of the beach.
The pools were my personal favourite they were never busy and also quite quiet, again servers walk around the pools asking if you require drinks also there are 2 swim up bars if you fancy a quick sip in the pool.
The room we were in was huge plenty of space and good air conditioning, we did feel the air conditioning smelt slightly of damp but this wasn't an awful problem for us. The bathroom was full of little extras such as Suncream and toothbrushes.
The entertainment at this hotel was not the best we had seen but it is still worth watching, it was nice to watch a show and somebody brings your drinks to you.
Tipping is important here, the staff work harder than I've ever seen, we changed small notes up at reception and gave small tips to show our gratitude to the incredible staff.

We stayed at Dreams Royal Punta Cana for 2 weeks in Feb 2022 and had a lovely vacation. The staff and service was excellent, friendly and always helpful. Didn’t see many people tipping and I encourage you to think ahead, bring lots of small bills so you can properly tip the hardworking staff (wherever you end up staying).
Dreams is connected to Secrets next door which is adults only and much more modern (renovated in 2020). If you don’t have kids and you can afford it, stay there but honestly I think Dreams was better value for money. You can use the same spa (for fee$), same gym for free, and it’s the same nightly entertainment on rotation. We didn’t even do “preferred” and were happy with our garden view room with king bed at Dreams. I would recommend requesting top floor if noise bothers you, you can hear people walking above you easily. The decor is a bit dated and it’s not as “luxurious” as a top 5-star hotel but for half the price of secrets it’s a great deal! Everything is very clean and we felt COVID safe with all the staff wearing masks and because most places were outdoors/ open air. The pools and gardens are beautiful and well maintained.
The buffet was a bit small and food was a bit repetitive but we could always find something we liked. We enjoyed the restaurants more than the buffet so we rotated between those and it was really nice not having to make reservations. For lunches we loved the beach bbq chicken & fries and the pizzeria! (A recommendation for the resort would be to have at least 2 people working the food beach hut as there are always line ups and the poor guy is working non stop in the heat for hours.)
Overall I would highly recommend this resort for couples/ family/ friends! I would only be disappointed if I had paid a high premium for a modern luxury hotel. If that’s what you want go to secrets, but be prepared to pay double the price.
Ps the beach is quite windy and the water is pretty churned up with sand so it’s not clear and has some seaweed. If you’re looking for crystal clear calm waters try another side of the island. But if you’re a fish like me it doesn’t matter because it’s still a beautiful beach with warm water!

Absolutely can not say enough about this place and the staff. I have traveled a lot but never to an all inclusive so I wasn’t sure of what to even expect! We had a preferred swim up two queen bedroom. My friend Sidney and I went on a girls trip and we were blown away.
It’s a newer resort so everything was extremely clean and the rooms were so pretty. The beds are amazing and I loved our turn down service every night. The housekeeping staff outdid themselves. They did a great job sanitizing everything from doors to bathrooms. We felt super safe being there (cleanliness wise). The pools were beautiful with so many seating options! The preferred swim up room was really an amazing balcony space with a lazy river right there (4 steps away!). We spent many mornings reading and sunbathing while the staff would come and make sure we didn’t need anything. The moment we got off the bus at the resort from the airport we were checked in with ease and a smile , along with a pina colada to die for. I wish I could remember her name but every time we saw her she would wave and smile.
I can not say how much the staff made this entire trip feel so amazing. Some of the staff that stood way out were the bartenders- Alberto and Roberto and there were two more at the bars that at I can not remember their names but went above and beyond for us. Marco and Carlos at the pool/beach bars also made us both feel so fabulous and never left our drinks empty. Neither did the servers walking around the pools. JR and all the entertainment staff was phenomenal and so much fun. Dancing and getting us to participate is not normally my comfort zone but they made it so easy. Wily was another server we met who went above and beyond at dinner to help us, and was so sweet. The two women staff members at Oceaniana restaurant always greeted us with a smile and helped us.
The food was good, I had read some reviews that made me a little nervous but I think sometimes people forget you get what you pay for. The seaweed was also a minimal issue, some was on the beach, but the amount of other wonderful pool options on the resort it wasn’t an issue to go from a little beach time and then back to the pool.
Last, but NEVER least, our butler JP was the most helpful and wonderful part of our vacation. He was our familia for the week and he definitely made us feel like it. Anytime we needed something we would reach out to him and bam, it was there. Sometimes with stuff we didn’t even know we needed! My friend had a birthday one night and we never really said anything or reached out and he provided us with so many surprises! It was so wonderful to not have to ask for things for a birthday but still have her day become so special!

What a dream! Our family of four (including 2 young adult children ) had a wonderful 5 night stay. We had a backlog of special events to celebrate due to COVID. Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana was the perfect thing place to commemorate some big life events. It began at the fronts doors and continued until we crossed that threshold to load into our airport transfer. Since we don’t go bug very often, and had been saving up, we spent extra for the Preferred rooms and were not disappointed. Our assigned “butler,” Martin, was heaven sent. He helped us to do something special for each of our family’s milestones. One included a day in the cabanas (an extra cost) and our concierge for the day was JD (Juan David). He was super attentive and kind.
The food was good across the board (we aren’t picky though) except the Fusion (Asian cuisine). The hibachi was fun and food was good with Jordan as our chef, but we came back another night for the regular menu and were disappointed. Without too much detail, the meat was over cooked to the point where it was actually hard. So we simply left and went to the Italian restaurant, Portofino, for a mighty fine dinner.
Our “go-to” restaurant was the Seaside Grill. It was open air dining at its best. Every member of the serving/hosting staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and warmly greeted. I got Luis’s name, awesome, but did not get the others who were equally so.
The beach was beautiful and well maintained. They have seaweed barriers in place that catch probably 90 percent of the seaweed and a tractor makes several runs up and down the shore to pick up the rest. The pools were fun and refreshing. Whether it was the main pool with planned activities or floating in the Preferred Pool, not to mention the beautiful infinity pool. Exquisite.
Everywhere you might have found a seat, the wait staff was ready to get your drink order. My go-to guy on the Preferred beach was Alexander. He was knowledgeable and helpful when trying to enjoy beverages the “Dominican” way. Not to mention that he could take orders in no less than 5 languages and probably more. I was trying to order a drink that I enjoy, which they didn’t know and he was eager to learn the recipe and get it just right.
All in all a wonderful and relaxing trip. I highly recommend.

I recently stayed for 7 nights with my girlfriend Chloe. I can’t put into words how amazing my experience was.
First let me say, the staff and how we were welcomed was unbelievable. Bags were brought up to our room right away, I’d like to say thanks for that.
While we checked in, we were given champagne. We were treated like royalty.
The atmosphere was secluded and relaxing. It looks better than the photos.
We visited all the restaurants and got great dining every day and night consistently.
If you like cocktails, get the s*x on the beach I couldn’t drink them fast enough.
The staff were so genuine and friendly.
I’d like to give a special thanks to Raquel Torres who looked after us so so well and helped us with anything we needed. She has an excellent understanding of people, made me and my girlfriend feel like we were at home and has us wanting to come back! So thanks Raquel, from both of us.
Also a thanks to Juan at the Italian restaurant, who we could not believe only started working there less than a month ago, he also made our holiday great.
The security do a great job of securing the building throughout the day and at night time, thanks guys.
The water at the beach really is turquoise blue for those of you wondering, it’s insane how blue it is.
If you’re down by the beach, I recommend checking out the burger grill on the beach too midday for food.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot you have room service 24 hours and anything you need is delivered with a big smile!
Checking out was cool too as they have showers because it’s quite hot, so you can go to the airport feeling refreshed.
Thanks to all of you guys, you really made this a dream holiday for us and I cannot wait to come back.

My husband and I had our first ever Caribbean vacation together at the Dream Royal Resort. We had an incredible experience with the staff, who were all very dedicated in making sure we were having a good time. They were vigilant at making sure we always had a drink and were comfortable. In terms of dealing with COVID, all the staff were great about wearing masks, sanitizing guests before meals and drinks, and taking our temperature before entering indoor buildings.
Special shout-out to Junior on the entertainment team who went out of his way to remember us, and engage us in all the activities he put on throughout the day. And also a big thank you to our personal assistant Eduardo who did a great job at anticipating our needs throughout our trip with food suggestions & arrangements, as well as being available to answer any questions we had.
We highly recommend staying at the Dreams Royal Resort! The Dominican is extremely beautiful, and the service we received from the staff will definitely entice us to come back here!

I have visited the Dominican Republic several times in the past, but my recent stay at Dreams Royal Beach Punt Cana was the most delightful experience I've had to date. My ocean view room was superb, very spacious, comfortable, and immaculate. Also, my past experiences have led me to believe that some resorts lack the idea of cleaning their private beach, but not this one! There was virtually no seaweed on shore and it was very clean (i.e., free of empty cups, trash, used towels, etc.). The food was delicious and fresh, with an array of local cuisine as well as worldwide favorites, fruits, and deserts. Every staff member in the dining areas and restaurants, as well as the rest of the hotel wear face coverings and you can witness them prudently sanitizing all frequently touch surfaces. Speaking of the staff, they are the reason I enjoyed this place so much! They are attentive, welcoming, and ready to assist you at any moment. Kudos to them! To conclude, if your ever in the Dominican Republic choose Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana. You will not be disappointed!

My family and I (wife and kids, 18 and 21) just got back from 7 days at Dreams Royal Beach. It was a special trip as I turned 50 in the middle of it and I couldn't have been in a better place to celebrate. From the moment you enter the lobby, the service is amazing and when they say, "Welcome family," I actually felt it.
The whole resort is so clean and beautiful. I loved the size of the resort as it never felt crowded. Everything was very well maintained. I loved the difference of the pools. The main pool was fun with activities by the amazing entertainment staff but there was also the infinity pool which was so laid back. The river that winds through the middle of the resort was also great. The beach was so beautiful and the slight breeze was so refreshing when it got a little hot. There was some seaweed issues but they did a good job of attempting to clean the shore and once you got out into the ocean a bit, it was just fine.
The food is on par with the other all-inclusives I have been to. All of the sit-down restaurants had great items on the menu as well as average items. Our family's favorite meals were Oceana and the teppanyaki dinner at Fusion. The only meals that I found less than average were the lunch and dinners at the World Cafe, the buffet. One piece of advice is going to dinner between 6:00 and 7:00. The resort doesn't make reservations for dinner unless you pay for the preferred club and we found out that you might have to wait for a while if you go at 8:00. Every time our family went at 6:30, we immediately got a table and great service.
What made this resort stand out to me was the staff. On day 1, the entertainment staff got our family involved and were so friendly. Spaghetti, Black Coffee, James Bond and, especially, JR went out of their way to check in on us and made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Jefri was always taking care of us at the main pool and even made a trip to beach on a day we moved there. Amaury was great server on the beach and made the best Michelada. Elvis was always friendly at the Blue Dorado pool bar and makes a great Banana Mambo. The best waitress was Estafany at the evening shows and at Interlude. She was so friendly and remembered our drinks from the first day on. Even if we weren't sitting in her section, she would check in on how our day was and if everything was good.
I really loved this place and would come back in a heartbeat. It was everything I wanted for a family vacation and I couldn't have found a better place to turn 50.

Our stay here was fantastic in every way. We usually travel to an inclusive resort once a year and this was definitely one of the best.
Cleanliness 5/5. All workers wear masks, everything is constantly cleaned and sanitized. Masks optional for visitors.
Service 5/5 Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Traveling with a small baby was not easy but staff made it as simple as can be. They went above and beyond anytime we needed anything. Dealing with the staff was a pleasure. Thank you to Carlos, Maria, Pamela, Raquel, Diorisa, I wish I remembered more names but everyone was great!
Grounds 5/5 Beautiful resort,small and easy to get around, music playing everywhere, modern and clean with lots of greenery and attention to detail. Kids club available for children. Apparently they have a lazy river too but it was "closed" because of CoVid.
Beach 5/5 Wide and long beach with white sand and pristine water. Water was warm and gorgeous. Shaded areas plenty available on the beach.
Food 5/5 Food was excellent, the restaurants had delicious food. Oceana had food as good if not better than a high end restaurant in Toronto.2 restaurants were open per day because of low capacity. Buffet small but food was delicious and plenty of variety.
Rooms 5/5 clean, spacious, modern, AC works well, comfortable beds.
Overall, everything was beyond expectations and we hope to be back soon!

Definitely take 1 and 5 and 10 I would tip the people taking your bags ,people cleaning your room,and find a bartender you like and tip them so they make your drinks good. The liquor selection is ok not great
They have whiskey the preferred bar has a better selection of liquor you should big liquor from the duty free in Canada if you want that whiskey.
They have a lazy river but the resort doesn’t have the tubes in them I saw people just walking in them or had there personal floats they purchased.
