Write a reviewWe booked Dreams Royal Beach very last minute back in May as a bridge country to allow us to get into United States as we weren’t permitted to go straight there from the UK. So we weren’t expecting much and all inclusive resorts aren’t normally the type of holiday we enjoy! But Dreams royal beach is perfect whether you want to be involved with all the activities but there is also plenty of quiet spaces if you just want to enjoy the peace and sun bathe. For people who don’t normally enjoy ‘the entertainment’ it was actually very good with circus and queens shows, cocktail making places and lots of sports. They also have a excellent gym which we pretty much had to ourselves.
Every single member of staff is so friendly here. But particular mention has to go to Pamela one of the restaurants host who always remembered our names and told me I looked more beautiful than Megan Fox every day which is good for the ego! De Jesus who gave us our towels with such happiness every day, there was also a very nice young man who worked in the sports bar (11th May evening) that we cannot remember the name off! All the chefs on the buffet were also super friendly and helpful!
The food was also excellent and way above what we expected, with so much variety and fresh cooked food we didn’t get bored at all during the two weeks.
The rooms are a really high standard, the bed the most comfortable I have EVER slept in and the maid service is excellent.
The only thing to note is the beach at the time we went was covered in seaweed, it is completely out of hotels control and unfortunately just happens in this area they do rake it everyday but it’s not crystal clears seas and it’s doesn’t smell that great at front of beach but with so much going on at the pool it really didn’t matter at all to us and we still enjoyed some water sports, but something to bear i mind if you are desperate to go in the sea!
Would recommend to anyone going to this area, and is a all inclusive resort we would visit again.

Actually hotel location and pools are good. It has a big pool kind of lazy river style. Unfortunately, drinks are too sugary and not fine like other all inclusive hotels . Food is ok especially meats, but other things and breakfast are not ok. Room cleanliness and condition is not good (full of hair on the bed linens when we checked-in and my friends at the other room they had to change their room because of that situation and they said new room’s jacuzzi jets dont work). Spa is too pricey. They are using “preferred” upgrading program which costs about extra 500 + usd per week per room and it leads to discrimination among the hotel quests (some restaurants, bars, places and rooms are dedicated for preferred customers then you cannot use them) .
Hotel also has air condition problem in some indoor and out-door areas such as World cafe, sea grill restaurant and lobby are super hot, even you cannot eat or stay at there. Just 10 mins ago I asked this problem to restaurant manager at World Cafe and she was making a joke to me with shaking the tray to my face for cooling.
About kids club. We are satisfied with their job and thank you for them. They are really taking care of the kids all day long.
Hotel staff, I cannot say they are rude, but they are super unhappy and you can easily feel that they are doing their jobs unwillingly. Communication with them is also big problem if you are not speaking Spanish.
Night shows from the hotel entertainment team is very limited (like high school activity) and takes about 45 mins or max 1 hr. Lastly there is only one place to get your towel which at the beach. If you are at the pool you have to walk there 10 mins.
All over, I think it is overrated in Tripadvisor with 5 out 5 stars. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

I will start with the good. The staff were amazing. We particularly loved Omar who worked his tail off in the swim up pool bar and Carlos at the preferred beach.
We have stayed at 5+ UVC properties in the Dominican. The food at this one was the worst. The preferred breakfast and lunch were decent, but besides that we were very disappointed. The entertainment was also not great. The daytime entertainers were good, but the nighttime entertainment wasn't. They seemed to cater to little kids, so maybe if we had little kids we would feel differently.
Overall, we enjoy being UVC members. I wouldn't return to this resort. The Secrets next door and other Dreams resorts on the island are much nicer!

We have been here for 10 nights as a family of 4. The hotel is mostly great - sometimes the service could be better or more friendly (coco cafe early morning especially) but some have been above and beyond and made our holiday truly excelente!
Special shout out to Elvis in the bar, Dolores and Ironelly at the kids pool, Mariana and her young helper at night at Aperitif, Raymond the lifeguard who was ALWAYS 100% dedicated to his duty, Candy and all the team at the kids club which has been amazing, and the entertainment team especially Keyby and James Bond - we love you for free! You were all brilliant.

Beautiful hotel, food is amazing, entertainment team always go out of their way to make everyone happy. Very friendly staff, they treat you like you are their family. Mr Wonderful is the best, he goes out of his way to make your experience unforgettable. The servers and bar tenders are very friendly. A huge shout out to Genesis, Esmeralda, Maximilian, Yaheisi for the best service ever. The concierge team went out of their way to make sure I was able to purpose to my fiancée. I can’t wait to come back next year. I hope to see the resort treats them well and see them all next year. They all deserve an award for everything they have done to make this experience unforgettable.

Our grandkids which included a 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 year old were very entertained just watching the shows which were mostly adult oriented, but appropriate for family viewing. They had small kids chairs set up special for little ones in the front side of the stage, that they liked watching from. We did have a larger group, so a lot of their entertainment was just hanging out together. On a couple of nights they did do a dance party that was very entertaining. It was to a lot of kids/Disney song videos that they danced along with at the lead of the entertainment team. They really enjoyed that! We didn’t get aa chance to do it, but I did see a kids themed safari one evening where they had the kids camped out in the lawn watching movies on a big screen. The kids were never bored and loved it there, they can’t wait to go back!

There is nightly entertainment, and it is decent. I think the resort is amazing, and doing everything they can during these “challenging times”.
The restaurants are very good, and sometimes reservations would be a good idea. We were there when the resort was only 15% full, and never had any issues getting a table. The buffet is open during breakfast and lunch, and you can serve yourself for about 80% of what they have, the rest is a short order chef to make things fresh for you. They are awesome.

In our buffet we have different fresh fruit drinks and in our bars you can get alcoholic cocktails.
Regarding to the activities, please contact us directly and we can provide you a list.
We don't have disco kids, although, we offer different activities in our Explorer's Club for children age 3 to 12.
We temporaly don't have the trampoline, but there are inflatables at the pool twice a week.

The distance between rooms and beach depends on the room category. As the ones closest are Ocean View, Partial Ocean View and Pool View, but from the farest ones it takes less than five minutes walking.
Regarding to the nightly entertainment, every night we have a show in our plaza or theater, so guests recieve a schedule of the activities of the day and night. After the show, guests can enjoy our nightclub.
