The customer service is thee best!! The preferred club has the best staff starting with my butler Junior! He made sure we had everything we needed and more! He was so attentive . Make sure you visit my favorite bartenders iliana at the beach and Issa in the lounge .Their drinks are delicious and the convo is good too. When you at the beach ask for Gabino. He went out his way everyday to make sure we had a seating area, towels and a float. Great guy!! If you want a good omelette ask Rafel to make it like Michigan! I cant forget about Joel! He played the best music on the cart. It was like karaoke. I can’t wait to go back and hang out with my extended new family.

Our family spent a week at Dreams Royal Beach to celebrate our parents 50th anniversary. It was perfection! The grounds are gorgeous. We loved the swim out rooms for preferred club. Our house keeper Maria was kind and attentive and she kept our room to perfection. The bar tenders were attentive. The food was actually pretty good if you were willing to try new things. Fusion was our favorite. We ate both the regular restaurant and the hibachi. Jordan at Fusion was awesome! He kept us entertained and well fed.
Our mother loves Spanish and does not speak it well. She took lessons from Eliza each day. Eliza has a gift of making people feel special and loved. She was also awesome Half Time sports bar karaoke. She made sure everyone had a good time. In addition to Eliza, the entertainment team was amazing. Stretching on the beach with Enjeric was a highlight. Black Coffee and JR Styles kept us entertained with dancing and laughing. They are beautiful souls.
I can’t say enough about Marcelo, our butler. He felt like family by the end of the week. He took excellent care of our parents making their 50th special. He thought of everything. He made our reservations each night. We truly worried about nothing because he had already handled it for us. We can’t wait to return.

Our 5th time in Punta Cana and our first time here. I will not repeat what others said: all of the staff is awesome and our butler Luci is a wonderful and helpful person. Communications via WhatsApp and in person were easy. Everyone works super hard, management: please give these people a raise and more days off!!! it's heart-breaking when they tell you that they work twelve days straight and then three days off........
We chose to go with the swim-up in the Preferred section and it was great: we ended up on the sunny side, the last room just near the Grotto/Sea Legs. Between 2pm and 4pm get ready for lots of music, but not bachata nor merengue as we expected... American music... sigh... Anyway we brought our own float and toured the lazy river every day. The infinity pool ended up being our favorite spot in the morning. BTW the swim-outs on the other side are in the shade all day long, zero sun. The lazy river there gets sunshine between about noon and 3pm, if you dislike the sun at its hottest, request a room on that side.
Bavaro beach: super! No sargassum mid January, just some seaweed here and there. There are several boats here for parasailing and banana boats, so there's a lot of activity which is not a deterrent I find. But if this bothers you, go elsewhere up west on Bavaro. The boats are more an issue past Secrets because there is a pier for Ocean Adventures and a second pier after that (before you reach Impressive), and between those two piers are sort of suites (not resorts) and all the boats end up there, so that segment of the beach is not quiet at all. The beach is safe, just smile and say "no gracias" to all the people who want to sell you a parasailing experience or whatever as you stroll along this great beach.
Food: as expected, i.e. not mind-boggling but of good quality. We ate well. Comparable to other spots like Majestic Elegance or Gran Bahia Principe. I recommend doing the reservation for teppanyaki/hibachi at Fusion but be warned it is timeboxed to exactly one hour, we felt rushed at the very end to finish our plate (the food was super good). I also had the spicy seafood Pad Thai at Fusion twice. At Oceana (bring long pants gentlemen) the crispy tuna was the highlight of my entire trip, not to mention the delicious Coquille St-Jacques. Portofino: meh. The buffet at World Café was satisfying and efficient. For breakfast don't miss the custom omelet counter (located at the teppanyaki spot in Fusion), a lot of people miss it. Fresh squeezed fruit juices every morning! Tip: we bought 2 bottles of wine at the duty free shop of our departing airport and at Dreams the staff gracefully allowed us to bring them fr dinner, making our experience even better. BTW their little "prosecco" (which they dare call "champagne" LOL) is actually not bad, and you can have a mimosa for breakfast every day (or all day long) if you want. If you see their delicious cheese empanadas, go for it! They only had them one day!
Bars: great! We always had great service with a smile. The preferred Lounge near the main pool is always quiet. It is a great underrated spot for a drink between 11:00 and 17:00 IIRC. Veranda next to the entrance of Portofino was always busy from 5pm onwards.
Entertainment: the Dominican Show was a surprise, with 4 very good singers and 8 dancers with amazing costumes. We didn't care for Madonna or Queen although you might. There is a karaoke night... very cringe!!!
To conclude: no, this resort is not perfect. But for the price point, it's an excellent choice! We will return! Muchas gracias y hasta la proxima!

Omg forget any negative reviews this place is wonderful!!! Have to shout out all the people that make my trip amazing! Jr and black koffee 🙌🏿 best poolside entertainers from anywhere I've been in the world ! The hostesses in the buffet and pizza area are so kind and have the best hearts! The food is great! Has everything anyone could need in terms of choice you will not run out of options! Loved the shows and the effort people put in to them! Also the ladies that run the drinks in the show area are wonderful and accommodating(.every day I came to corezone to cool down and play a variety of games for an hour or just dance and air hockey which has such an amazing vibe with alexandra and eliza(love her!!) She also talked me and some others into karaoke in the sports bar and was well looked after by Lucia and Eliza and James bond the stuntman!. which turned out to be the best fun ever!! Best bar is veranda with Carlos m and risel ! The classes are great and informative ( Spanish lessons and coffee making class with Eliza make me want to change my career! ) rooms are clean and the chambermaid (eira and yaniris if I'm spelling it correct) are an asset!! Felt like coming back for the first time every day.room service with Jeffrey!!!! Beach is amazing ,the hustlers will leave u alone if you tell them.the shop is OK if you REALLY need something as prices are a bit high.i really like preferred club and I never had to battle for a seat on the beach. Swim out rooms made my trip!! Pd: Eliza is amazing when you come ask for here!!!!!!!!!!

We had a group of 29 of us to celebrate birtthdays, Anniversaries and long term friendships! We chose this resort due to the reviews and cost we were able to get for our group. We travelled by AirTransat, and some of us booked priority plus. Definately worth the extra money and no delays at either airport. Our check in was fine, our room 5333 was very nice. Building 5 is all along the right side when you look from the resort to the ocean. If you select poolside and our in buidling 5 you will not get any sunshine on your balcony. Not sure what the other building was across the pool but they had full sun.
Food - Breakfast buffet food was good. Fresh omelettes are in another room along with fresh juices. Lots of section you won't be disspointed. Only improvement would be to have both grills making more then one omelett at a time so you dont need to wait,
Lunch was buffet, fresh pizza at the Italian resturant or the grill by the beach. All options are good. The BBQ chicken at the grill runs out fast. This grill has burgers, hotdogs, chicken, vegetables and fries plus a variety of fresh toppings like guacomole. If you like pizza it is worth drying off and eating at the Italian Thin crust , delicious toppings and made from a pizza oven. Buffet has a good selection and it attached to the Italian so you can sit in the Italian and people can order pizza or eat at the buffet.
Dinner - Oceana was great, however we went 3 nights and although I ordered the same meal it was changed up. Steak I had was fabulous but one night there was 10 of us adn half the table got a good piece of steak and the other not so good. Seaside Grill is by the ocean, again had the steak but not a good cut. It was still ok.
Italian - our party ate here but I did not Mixed reviews one night food was fantastic other night so so. The best was teh Himitsu - we booked 3 different sittings and used this to celebrate the birthdays. The performance by the chefs was amazing and the food fantastic. This by far was the best night just because of food and show
The gym - three different sections, a weight room, a matt room and a cardio room. This was by far the best gym facilities I have seen at a resort and there was always staff available to help you. I didn't get names but I wished I did as they were fantastic
Staff - we have never bonded with so many people at a resort. I cant say enough about the staff at the Grotto Bar and around the pool, Our favourites were Pool Waiters - Elvis, Jefry and at the Grotto Bar Rayphin. This guys worked tirelessly all day long with a smile. They felt like family and the resort needs to make sure they keep them. Yimi at the Veranda Bar was absolutely the best! He was friendly, always smiling and made the best Caipirinha's (get it with the DR rum). He also ran the coffee / tea station by the pool in the morning. Nice way to start your day getting a drink from Yimi!
Entertainment Staff - Again these people were amazing. 911, Mr Wonderful, Coca Cola all entertained us at the pool with games and aquafit. They made our trip. Daloris and Eliza Corezone were also amazing. Eliza ran Karaoke at the sports bar and was so much fun. The World Juniors were playing and we watched both the semi-finals and finals which interupted Karaoke but Eliza ran with it. The night Canada won we had Marc Hervieux famous Canadian singer. He sang the national athem and it was incredible. Eliza always went out of her way to say hello! The entertainment at night was good, and they did do stuff for the kids (can't comment as we had no children with us - but one night they set up popcorn, chairs and a night screen for an outdoor movie for the kids).
The conceige desk - Raquel Torres - I can't say enough about Raquel. She truly made our trip. We reached out to her prior to arriving to discuss golf. She responded quickly and then when we where there two of us from our group connected with her though Whats App. She helped us arrange birthday cakes, anniversary surprise and two dinners. She is truly a miracle worker and I cant say enought about how much she did for us. She went above and beyond even answering our messages on her day off. If you go to this resort you need to connect with Raquel she is absolutey superb!
None of us did the preferred, however in hindsite if we go back we would do it for the upgrade in alcohol alone. You can get upgrded booze (like grey goose vodka) and beer (canned and corona).
The Wifi - you had it for your room and then it switched to a genera one for the resort. Can't say it was the greatest. Often disconnected.
Cafe in front lobby offered snacks and drinks staff very friendly.
If you are looking for a great time, good fun and fun in the sun this is your resort!
