Our first (but not last) time in D.R. Excellent experience at Dreams Royal Beach. It is very well maintained and extremely clean.

We chose a preferred club level pool-view room for our one week stay. We had maid service 3 times daily with constant restocking of snacks and beverages. Perfect for returning from the beach/pool for a shower and siesta before dressing for dinner, followed by drinks and entertainment at the plaza. Returning to the room, we found the room refreshed and the bed turned down.

The attention we received from the staff is what made our week here very special. Billy, our butler, was always at the ready to handle our requests. He surprised us by providing a special anniversary evening complete with chocolate covered strawberries, champagne and jacuzzi bubble bath! He also created a romantic atmosphere in our selected restaurant on another evening. Tip of the hat to Billy for taking such great care of us.

Housekeeping was excellent. Milady Ochoa appreciated my laughable attempt at Spanish and she surprised us with an extremely creative gift of a English/Spanish translation book - for our next visit!

Restaurant staff were very friendly and attentive. Especially memorable were Cesar, Rudy and Ernesto. The servers at the beach, pool and plaza were great also, namely De Jesu and Jhon.

The value received for the price paid is what makes this the best hotel on Bavaro Beach.

Overall fantastic location and a beautifully maintained resort. Always immaculate. The staff all in all were excellent, I have had several tennis lessons with Jonathan one of the coaches who was fantastic. (1 to 1 lessons are 30 US. I couldn’t find this information prior so thought this may be useful!) Both the guys at the tennis club were great and definitely was worth bringing my racket for some coaching.
Special shout out for the following staff for making the stay so memorable: Jelfrin, Drislin, Luis Manuel, Shaggy and Danly to name a few.

The food for an all inclusive I would say is very good, you can’t expect fine dining at an all-inclusive, the restaurants we didn’t have to book and were always available. The main downside on the food was being asked to keep your cutlery from your starter, you don’t really want fillet steak tasting of mussel pâté. On a side note it was always tricky to find a teaspoon at breakfast which was a bit of a pain for kids eating cereal, stirring coffee, yoghurts etc.

The biggest down side of this hotel for me although the team seem fantastic and talented is the entertainment. There was a lack of any competitive sports (football/volley/pool volley table tennis etc) they only really seemed to do the water aerobics, dancing etc which I have no interest in. Some of the hotel guests did a better job rounding people up from the beach for volleyball. The activities would not run to schedule and sometimes when you did turn up there would be no one there. The app did differ to the schedule on the board a lot which didn’t help.

Our little girl (4) is very shy and was very against the kids club initially but Candy was excellent by really helping to convince her to stay and have fun by showing her all kinds of activities. You get a phone so if they want to leave they will call you straight away. The security in the resort was fantastic so it all felt very safe.

Room location was also really far from everything and we asked to be on ground floor via messenger prior to our stay but then ended up on the top floor. As the hotel was not fully booked this made me feel the request wasn’t even passed on as there was not a mention of this on check in.

The programmes run on a weekly basis it seemed so same shows, activities, menus etc and it did get a little repetitive if you stay any longer.

This was the worst holiday ever. There is no way the Dreams Royal Beach, Punta Cana is a 5 star resort, it more between a 3 /4 star resort. The resort was basic and the room service was very poor ie constantly contacting the room service staff to change our bedding and to top up our drinks bar. Full inclusive, I beg to differ! My wife and will never return to the Dreams Royal Beach again as our constant complaints regarding poor service was not taken seriously by the hotel directors which demonstrates poor quality of service. We would not recommend anyone to spend a night there never mind 7, 10 or 14 nights. Horrible experience for use.

I went on vacation April 12- April 17. I enjoyed my stay at Dreams Royal in Punta Canta Dominican Republic and the Staff were phenomenal. To highlight a few entertainment section staff,Junior, Kevin, and Dark Chocolate were great at engaging the guest with activities poolside and at the beach. The serving staff were excellent also to highlight a few Angel, Brian, Carlos Sanchez, Manny And Felix always gave me service with a smile. They were there giving me everything I needed and wanted. Always made sure I was satisfied with my meal and to keep my glass full. The bartender’s at the beach we’re always there to greet me and make sure I was always satisfied with my drinks. Julio mixed excellent drinks and always made sure they were to my liking. I did not get a chance to meet any of the housekeeping staff because I wasn’t around when they entered the room for cleaning or turn down service. They kept my room supplied with towels and cleaned my room daily. However they do need to pay closer attention to under the bed when cleaning the floor. Just dusty and sand under the bed.

I did enjoy the scenic area and I really enjoyed the resort. The concierge service was phenomenal and very welcoming once you arrive. Gabriel, was very helpful and was always there when I had a question or needed help. Gabriel made sure my stay was enjoyable and I knew what entertainment was going on and where to be.

I will return to Dreams and I would recommend this location to any one who is looking for a break from the normal vacation trips. Thank you staff of Dreams Royal for a pleasant vacation and a great experience. I will definitely be back in the future.

What a wonderful week at this gorgeous resort. We chose the Preferred Club level room which includes several upgrades, most noteworthy including a butler From the moment we stepped into the lobby the excellent service started....private check in, personal attentive service, and immediate contact with our butler, Marcelo. He was our go-to for absolutely anything and no request went unattended. What a lovely surprise too, as he arranged for a beautifully decorated room to celebrate a birthday, with cake, roses, and champagne. Marcelo contacted us every day to ensure we were set with just about everything, and if we needed anything at all, he took care of it in quickly and efficiently.
The resort is impeccably maintained; lush manicured gardens, no debris anywhere, pristine pools, clean beach, bar and restaurants. Beach shoreline area was maintained several times per day, and area vendors were polite and relatively unobtrusive. Poolside and beachside services were wonderful; special recognition to the ever friendly and smiling Amaury who made sure we were well taken care of with bar drinks, water, and snacks. As for the many activities on property, the friendly, high-energy staff were super attentive. Shout out to the very personable JR. Every day he'd greet us with a smile, a funny story, and every night before the showtime he would meet with us in our usual seating spot just to have a few laughs and to catch up on the day's activities. The restaurants were airy, immaculate, with very nice ambience and super attentive waitstaff. Portions tended to be smaller than standard American fare; however one could order as much as one wants. Food was beautifully presented as well. Overall, a simply gorgeous, affordable, all inclusive resort where service is most friendly and excellent.

Where to start? After the COVID restrictions were lifted, we needed to get some R & R. We researched for months and based on the reviews we decided on Dreams Royal Beach for the " Unlimited Luxury". Once we touched down in Punta Cana and made it through customs our AMR representative was happily waiting for us. (Beware there will be people at the airport trying to "give you a free excursion" DON'T Do it. Wait until you get to Dreams Royal Beach and talk to you AMR representative. On arrival we were greeted by our personal butler (Marcelo). Notice: if you pick preferred rooms you will have a butler to assist you throughout your stay. Marcelo made our trip unbelievable and unforgettable. Bell hops wisked our luggage away and Marcello guided us through every step and stayed in contact with us through the app 'Whats up' and everytime he would see us he made sure to go out of his way to make sure we were doing Excellente. We stayed in one the swim up preferred rooms and the lazy river. How awesome!! Oscar was able to get us one free massage and 25% off the other. All you have to do is to go and listen to a presentation. Well worth it!! Thank you to Maximilian at the stage bar....he made the best damn Mai Tais. Everyone we encountered always went out of the way to say Hola with a smile. Our AMR representative ( I apologize I forgot her name) she said she was originally from Serbia, was very thorough in helping us picking our excursions. Catalina Island day trip and the ocean reef explorer was mind blowing. The AMR staff we all so happy and had an energy about them that just radiates into you. But it doesn't stop there. When you venture out.for your excursions the people of the Dominican Republic we the same way. We all could take a lesson from their culture to be kinder and happier in our day to day lives. AMR has plenty of other resorts, however people like Marcelo make Dreams Royal Beach a bucket list destination that you will definitely want to do again!! Thank you to the event staff for the night entertainment which even impressed me. Another winner was the housekeeping staff. They were always cleaning the rooms, buffing the hallways, and the restrooms were continuously sanitized. May God Bless all of you!

We just returned from a family trip to Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana between Christmas and New Years. It was a great fit for two adults and our 3 children (late teens and early 20s). The weather was fantastic and there are a nice mix of pools as well as lots of seating at the ocean. The best part for us was the overall environment and attitude of the staff members there. The staff members were uniformly upbeat, polite and really enjoyable to be with. Our butler Marcelo was a big help in arranging dinner reservations and other requests. From the entertainment team, JR and James Bond were so outgoing and friendly, encouraging participation and trying to make sure the guests had fun. In the restaurants and buffet area, the waiters, waitresses and hostesses were very attentive and friendly; Raul in Oceana especially but others as well. The ladies making coffee drinks at Cafe Coco were fantastic and it was great to start each day with a good cup of coffee. All the bartenders and waitresses were helpful as well. The food was uniformly good with plenty of choices; for me it is keeping in mind that it is resort food and not having the expectation that you are at a top level restaurant in Boston or Chicago. We enjoyed the meals. You may pick up that the biggest factor for me and my family was feeling appreciated and welcomed by the staff members, and having a beautiful environment to spend time together, share meals and some nice drinks, and to relax at the beach and have a few laughs at the shows at night. I was completely impressed with the attention to cleanliness and safeguards with all staff members wearing masks and focusing on keeping things clean and safe. We did the on-site Covid-19 testing and that worked fine, with quick results. I’d be happy to go there again. One recommendation: we did not stay in the Preferred Club section, but if you do you get access to an additional restaurant for breakfast and lunch as well as a special pool and section at the beach. Those are some nice extras that I would consider for a future trip.

What a break, I write this as we are still here for another six days and can’t wait. Literally this has been a phenomenal break so far.

We are booked into room 4156 which is in the most perfect spot for us. It’s a swim up room in the preferred section on the lazy river. It is shady if you want it and as a family of sensitive and fair skinned people this was completely perfect.

The room as we arrived had a damp smell but this dispersed very very quickly and certainly didn’t affect our stay at all. Think this is a result of being ground floor and right by the pool if it’s unused for a little. We never smelt it again after our arrival.

The Aircon and fan make the room very comfortable.

The television service is great, access to YouTube, Amazon prime and Netflix as well as many channels.

The WiFi is a bit sketchy in places for uploading videos etc or streaming but it’s been lovely to unplug.

The pool is very very clean and the grounds stunning and maintained perfectly.

We would recommend going preferred it’s phenomenal, BILLY our butler was in touch daily, sought us out to make sure we were ok or needed anything.

His support ranged from advice on excursions, arranging cabanas, meal reservations and making family events (birthday and wedding anniversary) memorable and priceless experiences. Nothing was too much trouble and honestly he made our stay so much more than we could have wished for.

Our guy NELSON by the pool was epic, he was sweet, engaging and so attentive. We were never dry if a drink or a smile.

These guys do such a phenomenal job, please remember your peso’s or dollars to show your appreciation - it’s not customary to tip in the UK and I know some will think it strange paying all inclusive that you’d tip but it is customary here, not essential but customary to.

All staff were grateful for all and anything they received.

The beach is gorgeous, the hotel work tirelessly to clear the seaweed and you can see they do a great job they do as is evident further up the beach.

The food in fusion is phenomenal as is the seaside grill.

The main buffet has been a little hit and miss at dinner and lunch but there was plenty of choice for all. As a preferred guest you can order room service meals anytime too so we never went hungry at all.

The buffet for breakfast was lovely.

We have adored our stay so far and can’t wait to enjoy the next few days here.

We spent here 10 days and it was fantastic time but with small issues. The biggest problem was AC in room. In our opinion there was too cold inside the room, but when you turned AC down imidiatelly everything became wet. We had wet ceiling, floor, linen and even cloths in wardrobe. Staff did their best to fix it, but in my opionion there was too big difference in temperatures inside and outside and it caused such a problem.
Food selection depends on day of the week, in the middle of week food was "so so", but at the weekend delicious. We really liked Tides bar on the beach!
All staff was very helpfull and proffessional. We really liked Nelson from the beach, Billy from buffet, Amauris from pool bar! Entertainment team also did their best.
Property was very clean and beautifull. In July in DR is a problem with seaweed but in Dreams Royal the beach was really clean and during our stay we even could swam in the Ocean.

As for the air conditioner, we desire to explain that the temperature outside the room is approximately 30 degrees, and the one inside the room with the air conditioner on is completely different, besides that the conditioner reduces the external humidity characteristic of tropical weather, consequently, when you turn off the air conditioner, the humidity inside will increase. Beautiful resort and comfortable rooms. The staff went out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Great maid service and the mini-bar was always refilled. The pool and lounge areas were relaxing and clean. The resort was less than half full so most of the resort activities didn't happen. A few of the evening shows were good but the sound system needs some improvement.

The beach was nice but lots of seaweed was present in the mornings until removed. The water wasn't as clear as I would have expected. Unfortunately there were no good areas to snorkel close to the resort.

The food selection was average and usually not hot. There were 4 specialty restaurants but only 2 to 3 open at a time. The ribeye at the Seaside Grill was thin, tough and grizzly. Portafina Restaurant (Italian) was our favorite with good pasta dishes. The Fusion (Asian) served a good shogun style meal but the sushi was not good. There was also a grill on the beach which had good hamburgers, rotisserie chicken and nachos. The specialty coffee shop was a nice addition but didn't open until 0700. Bar service was quick and the drinks tasty. Not sure if the alcohol was watered down but I can honestly say that I never felt the alcohol from the drinks. Tried 2 double shots of dark rum back to back and nothing.

We paid for the Preferred upgrade and received a nice room, dedicated pool area (not well defined), dedicated bar area, and ala carte menu for some of the meals. I can not say enough about the wait staff. They were friendly, courteous, and went the extra mile to take care of us (Raul, Thomas, Brian, Jennifer and Luis come to mind).

All in all, it was a nice, relaxing vacation and will probably improve when there are more clientele.

Definitely take 1 and 5 and 10 I would tip the people taking your bags ,people cleaning your room,and find a bartender you like and tip them so they make your drinks good. The liquor selection is ok not great

They have whiskey the preferred bar has a better selection of liquor you should big liquor from the duty free in Canada if you want that whiskey. They have a lazy river but the resort doesn’t have the tubes in them I saw people just walking in them or had there personal floats they purchased.

There is a current but it’s slow and extremely pleasant. You can play with the kids anywhere without getting swept away. Kids of all ages love it.

"If you have very young kids then stay close to the beach so to have easy access to the rooms. Otherwise there is a quiet preferred section away from the main area."
