Lovely hotel

Very nice hotel, the central lobby area is huge & encompasses the majority of restaurants & entertainment, so the area is always busy & lively in the evening. You can escape to a quieter restaurant near the beach if it’s too loud in the central area. Good selection of restaurants, entertainment each night, very nice beach, multiple freeform swimming pools plus good water slide area, spa, games room & evening bar. Rooms are clean, modern & spacious. A great all round, all inclusive hotel, with a decent level of luxury!

This is not a 5 star resort
I booked a 12 night trip with my best friend.
After my father passing away, I really needed this holiday but it wasn’t to be

After 5 days.. I was struck down with diarrhoea and vomitng.. this lasted the rest of my holiday and also me resulted in me being blue lighted to hospital for 2 days
I was on IV fluids and strong antibiotics.
TUI and the resort was amazing and very concerned, but this absolutely ruined my holiday
Now back home in the UK, I have been diagnosed with scute salmonella
I have never felt so sick in all of my life

This holiday cost nearly £5k…. For both of us
My poor friend stayed in hospital with me.. but this totally ruined my holiday

This was by far the worst experience and most expensive experience with a resort. My family and I stayed at the preferred rooms. We had two rooms, of the two rooms, for my whole trip and numerous attempts to fix the AC in our room, it was all for nothing. The room ac was broken and we were extremely hot all day especially at night. The sink leaked. Room service was atrocious. Always took over an hour, everytime we ordered they messed up on our food. House keeping was the worst I ever seen. Every day around 4pm I had to call them to send some one to either clean my kids room or our room. They dont mind taking the tips we left them on a daily basis but they didnt bother cleaning anything all other than the bed. The restaurant food was terrible. Try the buffet, its decent. Other than 3 people we had encountered, which was our butler (Billy),our pool bartender (lucas), when we checked in at the preferred side. Everyone was so rude and nasty. They do not understand a lick of english, instead of saying "excuse me" they say 'WHAT?!", they roll their eyes everytime you want something or need something. They genuinely look like they do not want to work there or be there. And they call you by "hey lady, or hey man". I came to Punta Cana so many times in the past, and I have never came a cross a whole resort full of rude, nasty people and food was terrible. I spent more money with a family of 5, preferred, and this was not worth it. I will not be coming back to DR at all. If i do I will try Lopesan. SInce when has Dreams become this bad?1 We tip whether it was good service or horrible service cause we know hard work is hard work.

I travel every year with family, its my kids end of school year travel. I know food at resorts are a hit or miss. I also know that not everyone will be nice. But for a whole resort to be like is crazy. They are also very racist. We are a south asian family, and its like they dont want to serve us, give us attitude, and roll their eyes at us until we leave that nice tip at the end and its like "oh ok".

I genuinely cannot express how shocked I was with the rude, nasty attitude and faces they make. And I'm from NYC. Save your money and try another resort. They are not it.

Dreams Royal Punta Cana retrain your employees!

Room tip: Chairs get taken up by the pool early. I suggest wake up at the crack of dawn and get yourselves chairs.

The resort was beautiful, immaculate, staff was thoughtful, courteous and available, food was delicious. The only problem were the floors being slippery because of the humidity and wetness. My family and I will be back.

Our family had a great time at Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana. We had a 1st floor suite in the preferred section with the pool just steps from our patio. One room had a king bed and the adjoining room had 2 full or queen size beds.
Overall, the food was good with a variety of options. All of the restaurants had something my kids enjoyed. Portofino was probably our favorite.
We were assigned a butler with our preferred room and Yaca did a great job. She was always available and a huge help making dinner reservations for our large party of 14.
One of our favorite parts of the resort was the Explorer's Club. Our group had 5 kids ranging from 5 to almost 9. Every single one of them loved the Explorer's Club and begged to go every day. They took them to the beach, pool, had dance parties on the stage, Spanish lessons and so much more. Genesis, Nicole and Liz were amazing and made our trip successful!

Room tip: Bring a float for the pool

This property has made several positive changes in one year to include: new mini preferred expansion with walking bridge over the lagoon, water park, restaurant's/cafe’s, golf cart transportation, extended preferred section on the beach and overall there is more attention to detail.

Definitely recommend the preferred upgrade. Yacaira (butler) was fantastic and very attentive.

A special shout out and thank you to the management team, butlers, wait staff, entertainment team, and grounds/pool maintenance crew for all that you do and for making it another great family vacation.

See you all in June 2025!
