Where do I start! From the minute I walked off the shuttle the vibe & service was exceptional. Check in was fast & efficient, made my way to the concierge to ask questions, which were answered quickly. The room was amazing, this was a trip with me & my bestie. We had a walk out right into the lazy River, which went through the whole property. We settled in & went to eat at Oceana for dinner, the food was good. There was a slight mix up on the plates, which was not the Chefs fault but Juan, the gerente there got Ramber, who was the Chef. What a pleasant introduction, both Juan & Ramber made sure everything was great. Our server Willy was a delightful young man & Glenny the hostess was a just as fabulous. They really make you feel like family. The next day, Billy our Butler introduced himself. Let’s just say, the service was already great, Billy took it up a few more notches. We rented a cabana on the beach on the only day the had available, if this is something you’re interested in make sure you reserve it before you arrive. There was a mix up with the Spa, we booked a spa day prior to arriving & when we got there on Friday we stopped by just to verify the time & services. They had no appointment for us & they didn’t honor the price we were given. This was a major irritation, I travel quite often & I always book a spa day without any issues. We got an appointment booked with the help of Billy and let me tell you, it was one of the best treatments I’ve had. Stefany was magnificent, she applied just the right amount of pressure. I had the Queen facial, mango body wrap & massage. Isaias took care of the hydrotherapy, which was also great. We had Santo as our personal server for the cabana, the Chef Ramber prepared a special lunch which was the most delicious food I’ve eaten. Raul, Alexis, Alexander & Carlos were the attendants at the Preferred beach area. They were always great! Here is a list of those workers who stood out & seriously made me feel like a Queen while I was there: Amauris, Leydi, Ana (waitress at buffet), Jeffli, Yeah & Nelson (waiter at Fusion). I did not care for the Teppanyaki at Fusion, the food was bland and quite bad, I actually went to the buffet after the eat. Don’t waste your time with a reservation, just order off the regular menu at Fusion. Housekeeping was also good & the nightly turn down service was a pleasure. We had Eira & Idalis assigned to our room. The temperature in the room was set to 21 & it was too musty, they has maintenance come & adjust it down for us. There aren’t many outlets in the room so bring a dual plug if you remember. I’ve traveled to Cancun 3x in the last 18 months & Dreams Royal is my new favorite spot. I’m planning my birthday party there for next March & possibly going back sooner. Overall experience was phenomenal! I’m so type A & picky about where I stay, this was one of the best!

We stayed five nights at the Dreams Royal Beach 4-11 September 202. I selected Dreams over others resorts primarily for its location and customer reviews and man I am glad we did. The resort is by far the best one we have stayed in for a long time. We wanted to experience the all-inclusive lifestyle and let me tell you, Dreams made my wish a reality. We upgraded our suite to the Preferred Club and preferred it is. Our personal concierge (Marcelo) was available night and day for us. The Spa next door at Secrets is tops in the field and we could use their facilities as well. My wife and I had the couples Hot Stone Massage and I have no words that can express how relaxed I felt afterwards, a new man! The food and drinks are all 5 stars hands-down. The in-room Champagne Breakfast was the best, everything you desired is included, we had it twice. We will be returning to this resort again soon...

I have nothing but positive things to report about my stay at Dreams Royal Beach. The staff were so friendly and genuine. I celebrated my birthday during my stay and the staff made it very special. The food was amazing at all of the restaurants. A special shout out to Franco, Juan, Jr/Junior and all of the hostesses who made the stay extra special. I still have 2 days left and I am looking forward to enjoying a massage at the spa.

Dreams delivered just what we needed … a relaxing week away. Had a regular pool view room the first night then upgraded to preferred club swim up rest of week. Preferred club room was perfect and surprisingly much nicer than the first room. Spent most of our time just outside our room on the lounge chairs poolside. Nelson Jr was THE guy for day drinks … very attentive. Our room was cleaned daily with turn down service at night by Maria A Rosario who is just the loveliest lady. Our butler Billy was very resourceful and touched base with us daily. Everyone who works there was really just so kind and helpful. Would have preferred to stay at Secrets next door but Dreams is very family friendly. Spent an afternoon at the Secrets Spa and enjoyed the hydrotherapy and massage. Food was decent - ironically the pizza was delicious. Beach was clean. Staff was attentive. Entertainment at night was good. Overall, a nice week away.

Very well-run resort. I save my 5 star reviews for the very best of the best. This was very good but not the very best.
Plenty of competent staff, very good customer service - the one surly server stood out because everyone else was so delightful.
The size, layout and landscaping was fabulous. (On the side between the lobby & the beach anyway - can’t speak to the other side.). Everything was a pleasant walk but nothing too far. The palms were stunning.
We didn’t really struggle for a shady place on the beach in the morning or poolside in the afternoon, although the very best spots were reserved.
Our room was mostly fine. Layout was excellent. Water pressure in shower excellent. Housekeeping excellent. Some wear / stains on the soft furniture. Patio door hard to open/close especially from outside. I suppose that’s a safety thing but no handle on the outside so you had to leave it open when you were outside. They have Nespresso Original machines in the room. They don’t stock actual Nespresso branded capsules. We are used to decaf having red dots, and they had no capsules with red dots or that indicated decaf in any way. We asked for decaf, and they just brought more blue capsules. Perhaps they were decaf or perhaps they were just a lighter brew. We weren’t sure so didn’t use them at night. Wish we’d brought capsules from home.
Two issues:
1) Room temperature. When we arrived temp was set to 21 degrees Celsius and could not be lowered. We had someone come and they basically made it so we could change the number we saw on the panel down to 18 but the temperature definitely did not change. There is absolutely no way it was 64 f, which is what 18 c would be. And yes, the fan was on and yes the balcony door was closed.
2) we had asked in advance for no feather pillows. Our room had one feather and one non-feather. They weren’t able to replace the feather one - just brought little mini pillows.
The food was fine. The seafood/fish was outstanding. This was the case in every restaurant. Glad I read about breakfast omelets in the hibachi area. And FYI they use real eggs, not that premix stuff you see a lot of the time. We did preferred, and probably the best benefit was the OceanSide Grill for breakfast and lunch.
Gym good. Spa meh. Did couples massage and fine but not worth the $$$. They did an outstanding Super Bowl party. Really awesome.

I can picture the marketer for the resort thinking that they want to expand to grow revenue, and can only expand away from the beach in this random area. So they ask themselves how they can possibly get anyone to want to stay on that side. Eureka! Let’s tell them that’s the preferred side to drive interest. Yeah, no thanks.

My husband and I had a couples massage, aromatherapy, and were able to utilize some of our coupons for this. It was still over $200, but the spa experience with the hydrotherapy area included, was over the top!
