Write a reviewCheck in straight forward. We booked standard not preferred. Room was what you'd expect. Clean enough. Location of room was poor (5102). It was right next to the evening entertainment stage. Lots of noise when we wanted to sleep. Also they have seating just outside our room. People sitting there until the late hours and being very loud. Not their fault.. Why would you have seating just outside a room?
Food was terrible. No themed nights in world cafe (served buffet). We are vegetarian so we expect to compromise on food but here was just awful, bland and repetitive. On this note, I will say however that Yomarys from concierge was EXCELLENT! I was in contact with her before we came to the hotel. I explained our specific diet requirements and she got the chef to make us an amazing menu at Fusion (pan-Asian) restaurant.
Pools were big but cold. No heated pools. The Sea was warmer. Guys worked tirelessly and endlessly to remove seaweed. Plenty of sunbeds by the pool and beach. Best drinks were from the bar on the beach and from the pool bar Interlude.

Entertainment was the worst! So repetitive. No beach parties, no foam parties, no parties of any sort. Music list was the same every night.

We traveled with another family, total 9 people (4 adults, 5 kids). Resort is beautiful, a great pool and the beach was beautiful.
SERVICE: Service was OUTSTANDING here. I honestly have never experienced this level of service. Everyone deserves a shout out, but I don't have all the names.
Interlude bar: our server was always smiling (don't remember her name!)
Pool Bar in Infinity pool: Francisco, made the best pool drinks and he was the kids' favorite
Pool bar at main pool: Marcos was the best! Kept us refilled all day.
Kids club: Luisa was amazing with my shy 6-year old
Oceana: our server was fantastic
And best of all, our butler MARCELO was amazingly attentive, always in a good mood. Coordinated reservations, Covid tests, checked on transport for us.
FOOD: I would give a 3.5/5. We loved Oceana (scallops, ceviche delicious) and honestly the buffet was really good. Omelet station great at breakfast. Not a fan of Seaside Grill or the Italian although the pizza was good. Tides grill on the beach great for burgers, nachos by the pool or on the beach. We were able to enjoy most meals.
DRINKS: 4/5. If you want a stronger pour, just ask. White wine not good, Red was OK. tropical drinks delicious. Vodka selection acceptable (Absolute, grey goose some places). Baileys available for after dinner coffees. Strongest drinks in the Secrets nightclub.
ROOM: 3/5. Very dated as noted in other reviews. One room (we had 2 next to each other) very damp and musty. They have seen better days, but we all slept well and minibar stocked nicely every day. Housekeeping did a great job (room 5182 and 5184, 3/12/22-3/19/22). I am a hotel snob and I was OK, we were so busy having fun the room wasn't a huge issue.
ENTERTAINMENT: 5/5. Seriously this team is amazing! The Madonna show was FANTASTIC. Latin Pop just caught the end but also looked good. The pool games and entertainment during the day were so fun. Mr. James Bond and Spaghetti were great and my kids loved watching and participating in the pool games. Secrets club was fun at night and open-air with a nice view.
EXCURSIONS: We did one to Saona island. First 3 hours was driving around in a large bus to other resorts, random stop along road to collect payment from some people, then a big store in the middle of nowhere, then finally to the port where you get on ferry to Saona. After we got on the boat it was better and we had a fun day. But I would recommend a private tour if possible. Not sure it's worth the $$$ for an 8-hour excursion when 4 hours was on a bus or waiting around.
We had a great week and made great family memories!

This is a beautiful resort. Let me start by saying that it is a small resort but, I felt like, that’s what made it so nice. Everything was in walking distance and you really felt like you got to know the staff and other people.
I traveled here with my 12 y/o son for a mom/son trip. He did not use the kids club so I cannot remark on that but we did go into the sports bar a couple times to play pool. It was nice but not many other kids his age there.
We stayed in the Preferred section and loved the extra attention from our butler Roberto. He really went out of his way to make sure that everything we needed we got. We even reserved the cabana for a day and he had a special sign made just for him. He checked on us multiple times a day, made reservations for us, and ordered room service for us multiple times. He really made the trip special.
Food is average, I’ve definitely had better but that did not take away from how wonderful this trip was. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: We booked the Samoa Island tour and I highly suggest doing that. The water was absolutely beautiful.

We were sad to reach the end of our holiday at Dreams Royal Beach, Punta Cana.
We found this hotel absolutely stunning: from the clear blue swimming pool water, beautiful palm trees, restaurants and kids club.
The kids club has amazing activities ranging from evening camping around the compound to donut decorating.
Our favourite restaurant was the Seaside Grill with its amazing setting and views and delicious food. It is worth upgrading to Preferred Club if you can, breakfasts at the Seaside Grill were just the best way to start the day. Special shout out to Juan Hemenez, a very kind, professional waiter. Every member of staff at the Seaside Grill has given service with a smile. Some other mentions are Cesar and Milaurys, Luis A., Victor and Carlos.
Our Butler was Marcelo - the best butler you could ever ask for.
We didn’t eat much at the World Cafe but we really enjoyed the atmosphere and food at the Seaside Grill, the Teppanyaki table in Fusion and Oceana.
The housekeeping at the room was perfect with some lovely little details.
The bar tenders everywhere are great fun and they can make all sorts of cocktails. I particularly liked the idea of ‘cocktail of the day’. Special mention for Nelson Junior. Also Yefri L, and Jefry.

Just returned from a 10 day family vacation at this gorgeous resort and loved almost everything about it. We had a preferred club swim out room and my kids loved just walking out the room into the pool. While I dont think a lot of the preferred club perks are essential the swimout room and butler service were incredible. Roberto got our names on restaurant lists, made sure we were looked after and assisted us with our return transfer. He was very responsive and always quickly replied on the whatsapp.
The entertainment team was great, Mr Wonderful was always full of energy and kept the crowd fired up during the night shows, especially the name that tune game. My kids enjoyed the kids club programs, their favourite was build your own pizza lunch and were always talking about how great Wendy, Candy and Nicole kept things fun.
The food was good for a resort and the desserts were excellent. Getting a drink was our only hit or miss experience with the arrival of beverages ranging from instant to never showing up. Dont miss out on the fresh juice bar at the breakfast buffet, the lovely lady working there made me a few special drinks and quickly made a batch of my favourite Maracuya (passion fruit) when she saw me coming. The Ramen was good and worth the wait, loved the day one of the chefs made a very spicy sauce for it and it was perhaps the tastiest thing i tried all trip. The most memorable thing about the dining was our favourite server, Cesar at Seaside grill was incredibly friendly, attentive and entertaining. Even when we were not sitting in his section he checked on us and said Hi.
The sand on the beach was so soft, the vendors were frequent but not pushy and the ocean warm. There was some sargassam but it was quickly cleaned up. Towel game is strong as while there is tons of chairs ocean front there are only a few palapas. I always got a great spot but that involved getting them at 6am. Never a problem finding a nice quiet place in the pool because of how large the lazy river style pool is and we never felt crowded in it.
The main issue we had with this resort and why it did not get 5 stars is how extremely smoker friendly it was. I did not see a single place where it was not permitted, this included pool bars, balconies,line ups for restaurants, evening shows and even within the ice cream and treats “Sundays” kids snack bar. It was here that I frequently encountered people within a few feet of my kids ordering ice cream chain smoking or smoking cigars.
The entertainment team was great, Mr Wonderful was always full of energy and kept the crowd fired up during the night shows, especially the name that tune game. Always things to do for kids. She will have lots of fun! Check with the hotel once you get there and they will give you more info on their schedule.

Our grandkids which included a 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 year old were very entertained just watching the shows which were mostly adult oriented, but appropriate for family viewing. They had small kids chairs set up special for little ones in the front side of the stage, that they liked watching from. We did have a larger group, so a lot of their entertainment was just hanging out together. On a couple of nights they did do a dance party that was very entertaining. It was to a lot of kids/Disney song videos that they danced along with at the lead of the entertainment team. They really enjoyed that! We didn’t get aa chance to do it, but I did see a kids themed safari one evening where they had the kids camped out in the lawn watching movies on a big screen. The kids were never bored and loved it there, they can’t wait to go back!
