Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana is an excellent hotel for everyone. There is very beautiful pool which goes mostly around the whole resort. Also it has a very romantic and enjoyable atmosphere. The hotel rooms are pretty big and as a preferred club swim up member you get a room with the pool right in front of your patio. Therefore you can enjoy your stay even more! More benefits of the preferred upgrade is a better place to eat breakfast & lunch and a personal butler. You can text him any questions or personal desires and get a feedback within a few minutes. He made our stay even more enjoyable and helped us a lot with a few complications (adapter, transfer, etc.).

Also all other employees are very friendly and treat their guests like kings & queens.

The employee de Jesus who works at the desk for the towels is also very friendly and we even got a prosecco to our room as a hotel surprise from him.
They also celebrate customers birthday‘s and bring you a birthday cake or dessert.

Overall I really can recommend the resort for every kind of vacation.

Our stay at the Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana from January 23rd to 30th was amazing.
Covid-19 protocols: staff were wearing masks all the time and sanitizer available everywhere. The masks are recommended but not mandatory for clients.
We enjoyed that it was not busy only a few customers and sometimes more stuff. They always went above and beyond to make our experience amazing and we want to come back next year.
Highly recommend booking the tennis court and lessons with coach Francis. Thank you for teaching me and my daughter and playing with my husband, we really enjoyed it. We are missing the tennis now in Toronto. The first day when we came to the tennis court, we met Garfild who was covering the coach on his day off. He was amazing too.
Our favorite chef at the grill beach bar Jacobo with delicious chicken and fish skewers and Chicken Fajita.
Amazing hostesses: Pamela, Altagracia, and Maria were always with the smile and communicating with my daughter. I love the motto of many server staff such as “Everything is possible” and made our experience perfect and let us feel special. The best waiters are Ruddy, Louis, Manny, Carlos Sanchez and more…
Buffet staff were amazing Miguel, Roberto, Daniela and Felix.
Pool bar: Jeffrey and Omar.
Amazing staff from the kid’s club. My daughter enjoyed activities with them only near the pool or on the beach. My daughter is 4 years old and she didn’t like the kids club.
Thank you to the lifeguards who were near swimming pools everywhere.

We stayed from March 26 to April 2. I really struggled with how to rate this resort because the things that I did not like would not have been as big of an issue if I hadn't been to another AM resort in Punta Cana. We payed to be part of the preferred club last time and we did this time as well. We got to the resort and we were dropped off at the main lobby. We had our kids and we were all really hungry and thirsty. We were told since we were preferred we could go to the preferred lounge for the preferred checkin. Last time we were greeted with drinks and there were all kinds of foods and snacks. This time there were no drinks and no snacks. There was a bar but no bartender. The person checking us in said we were early and our room wasn't ready but we could go get lunch and our room would be ready when we were done. No problem we understood we were early. Fast forward 3 hours and we were finally taken to our room. There was never any food at the preferred lounge and every time we poked our heads in it was empty throughout the trip. We stayed at the NOW ONYX last time and anytime of the day there was food and a bartender to make drinks.
We booked a partial ocean view room and at the time of booking our reservation said we would be upgraded to the next level of room when we got to the resort. Obviously that was prefaced with only if there was a room available. The resort was only running at 50% capacity but we were never upgraded. We would have been better off booking a less expensive room and potentially getting an upgrade to the partial ocean view.
Again not the end of the world but when you pay extra for something you expect to receive it.
In all I actually believe all of these issues were due to under staffing. The first few days we felt like you couldn't find anyone. By the end of the week things got much better and it seemed like the resort brought on additional staff.
I don't want people to think there was poor service because everyone who worked there went above and beyond to make sure people were happy. We had a great trip and will likely be back to the DR but I would not pay for the preferred at this resort. A lot of the issues may also have to do with Covid but our previous experience at the ONYX was to hard to forget or compare.

In the midst of a pandemic, it’s fair to have concerns about traveling internationally. Dreams Royal Beach helped to eliminate those worries through their CleanComplete protocols and on site Covid testing. The service was fantastic at all times. Jean Carlos was available 24/7 through WhatsApp for any questions we had and provided very timely responses. Some of our other favorite staff included Robert, O’Neil, Eucledas, and Junior. Be sure to stop at the bar and enjoy a few drinks. They will be sure to make stay worthwhile. We highly recommend that you take some time to leave the resort and experience the outside area. The Monkey Land experience is a must for any animal lovers. We look forward to return trips to Dreams Royal Beach in the future!

We just got back from a wonderful week. Weather was perfect!! Beautiful grounds and beach. There was some seaweed but the resort does a great job cleaning it up.
We had two partial ocean view preferred rooms in a great location close to beach and restaurants.

The staff there is amazing! The biggest standout was our butler, Roberto. He took care of all our reservations, COVID testing, test results, and much more. He checked in on us multiple times a day, and was easy to get in touch with a text, to which he always responded super quick. I know he has lots of guests, but he makes it feel personal!!
He even walked us out to our transfer back home:)

Other awesome staff:

Alexander at the Preferred beach! He was there every day with a smile! He helped my daughter and I brush up on our Spanish. Loved the iced coffees!!!

Santo at the cabana, made our day! Checked on us all the time, brought us a great lunch and ice cream on the beach! Always nice and happy to see us!!

Raul in almost every restaurant we went to! He is hilarious and always hustling!!! “Yummy Yummy!”

Junior with the entertainment team! Very energetic and always made time to stop and talk. He is also an AWESOME dancer!

Take the time to hit the shows! The staff always does something fun before the show, and we always had a great time! The plaza where the shows are held is beautiful!

You can’t go wrong here! Staff is amazing, great food!

It was our first vacation in DR, and we loved this resort!
We had an amazing butler, Billy, who took care of us like we were his family. He made the reservations, ordered room service and was always available when we needed him. After Dreams we moved to another resort, and we really wanted to come back just because of Billy. He made our vacation perfect!
We also enjoyed great shows every evening (the second resort we stayed at didn't have them due to covid).
Wonderful beach café and the buffet were our favorite places to eat at. We enjoyed awesome cocktails at bars. We appreciated a hard work of staff who cleared the beach from seaweed and put cute swings there. Also, we loved an opportunity to work out on water bikes. The instructor was great!
Dreams Resort had everything we were hoping to get from our vacation and even more!
If you're looking to book some excursions - there's a rep on site who can arrange it. We absolutely loved Monkeyland and Jungle Buggie trips, enjoyed Marinarium even though we got to see only two sharks and two sting rays, and would've rather skipped Saona Island trip as it was more tiring that enjoyable. However, these excursions aren't connected to Dreams Resort.

I planned our trip to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday. We haven’t had a real vacation since our honeymoon almost 18 years ago, so we were long overdue.

The resort is spectacular. When Amstar dropped us off we in awe. Preferred Club check in was painless as we were treated to pina coladas in the beautiful lobby. Roberto was extremely helpful showing us around and answering all of our “first timer” questions. He also handled our reservations and recommended where to visit until our room was ready(we were a little early).

The resort grounds are meticulously manicured and the beach was free of debris, the sand perfect and the water was stunning.

We thought our room was great. Very clean, plenty of towels(restocked twice a day). I upgraded to a partial ocean view room(save your money, not worth it). The walls were well insulated, and there was no “noise pollution” from other rooms or the hallway.

The restaurants and bars were staffed by the friendliest people we’ve ever encountered. All of the staff was exceptional. The restaurants were well decorated and clean. Service was good. We were new to all inclusive travel and found the portions to be small meals generally average. There was a large variety at the buffet and multiple options at the resort restaurants.

I would go back tomorrow if I could. My wife and I had a great experience.

All the headline features that you want from an all inclusive resort were met on this trip. The facilities, staff, food, pools, beach, mini bar, entertainment and location were all there to be enjoyed to the full - marvellous. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Although I've given 5 stars, there were just a few things the resort could think about and a few things that it is good to be aware of, that are beyond the control of the resort.
Small things at the resort - 1. we had a ground floor room facing out on to the service road on the south side. Not ideal as our small terrace, complete with jacuzzi, were not particularly private. The hotel was full so that was the luck of the draw but worth requesting something else if you have the chance. 2 The sound carries in the corridors, so noisy guests returning from the bars or entertainment late in the evening are easily heard from inside your room. The corridors are marble tiled with bare painted walls (a bit institutional) so there's nothing to absorb the sound. If this might bother you, a room on the 1st or 2nd floor would probably be a good idea. 3. Early morning scramble for poolside loungers. There is a house rule that no towels are available until 8am but peeps keep towels from the previous day to reserve beds. There are usually loungers available on the beach until 9 or 10 though.
Beyond the resorts control. 1. It rained briefly everyday during our 12 day stay but never enough to drive us off of the beach or away from the pool. Most days were windy though from off the sea and one morning particularly so. The wind closes access to a lot of the beach/sea based activities so again, worth bearing in mind. 2 The wind had churned the sea, so snorkelling didn't really look like an option off of the beach from the hotel. This may of course be seasonal thing.
As I say, the overall experience more than compensated for these small gripes and would happily return again.

We needed a getaway and Dreams Royal Beach was what we needed. We are members of Universal Vacation Club UVC and have never been to the DR. We had a nice Jr. Suite with swim out pool. We were very comfortable with Room 5175. The service we received from Jose Manuel at the swim up bar was great. Whenever he saw us he would welcome us. Billy our Butler was our go-to-guy for reservations or any issues we had. Roxanna the server in the Entertainment area was friendly and always smiling. Jose who worked the Cabanas was always ready to assist with drinks, food, etc. We did have issues at Seaside Restaurant which needs addressing. Training needs to be done there regarding service, language and just basic table settings. No sugars on table for morning tea/coffee, Salt & Pepper shakers always sealed, when ordering toast - no butter or jam, just dry toast! Having to repeatedly ask for something. We found it the worst restaurant for service on site. Hopefully this review will cause improvement for other guests.

Amazing stay at this beautiful hotel. Grounds and rooms were lovely. Staff were amazing and super friendly, always greeted with a smile and went out of their way to accommodate our every need. The only reason I didn’t give a 5 is due to the food. There was always something to eat but nothing had any flavour. Nothing was seasoned and everything tasted the same. The fish selection was limited, grouper, mahi mahi or calamari prawns & muscles everyday. The restaurant staff were by far the worse, we often finished our meals before receiving a drink & the waiting staff spent most of the time pottering around or chatting rather than serving drinks. I would suggest bringing a drink from your room or getting a drink from the outside bar before going into the restaurant. The other issue is that the bar by the restaurant had a strong smell of vomit for the whole 2 weeks we were there. The pool drains were also very smelly. The pools however were always clean. The waiting staff around the pool were excellent and always made sure you had a drink in hand. The beach was beautiful and I wasn’t bothered at all by the seaweed. The guys are out all day clearing the seaweed as best they can. We went on an excursion and we’re told it was one of the ‘best beaches’ but it didn’t come close to the beach at the hotel. I would recommend the zip line excursion at monkey land which was so much fun. Entertainment in the evenings was good and during the day the entertainment staff were so much fun around the pool and made the effort to get to know everyone. If you want a more relaxed time then there are additional pools which are much quieter. There were never enough beds around the main pool but we always found one elsewhere, no matter what time of day, and simply moved it to the location we wanted. Room service was available 24/7 and any mini fridge drink we ran out of replaced immediately. We wouldn’t return because of the food quality, unfortunately, but other than this we had the most relaxing, stress free time. Special thanks to Jose, Nelson, Marcus & Amauris at the pool and all of the entertainment team including Spaghetti, JR, Shaggy, Black Coffee & Keybe.

Definitely take 1 and 5 and 10 I would tip the people taking your bags ,people cleaning your room,and find a bartender you like and tip them so they make your drinks good. The liquor selection is ok not great

They have whiskey the preferred bar has a better selection of liquor you should big liquor from the duty free in Canada if you want that whiskey. They have a lazy river but the resort doesn’t have the tubes in them I saw people just walking in them or had there personal floats they purchased.

There is a current but it’s slow and extremely pleasant. You can play with the kids anywhere without getting swept away. Kids of all ages love it.
